  1. You can definitely spot the ride op on WWF, but was not aware of there being any on SDSC! I’ll have to keep my eyes open next tine 😉
  2. Well.. 15 years ago the quality food options certainly weren’t what they are today... i always laugh when ‘celebrities’ complain about fans annoying them. Whilst they no doubt deserve a level of privacy and respect, no fans = no celebrity status
  3. Seems strange to me - what is there to hate about filming on the coast? Not saying it isn’t true, but given every other actor who has filmed here has been nothing but complimentary it seems odd. IMDB tells me SMG was doing 2 weeks on 2 weeks off due to tv commitments, so I’d say it would have been the travel issue that she disliked other than the physical location
  4. Whilst you could definitely argue that the space could have been better utilised in terms of multiple indoor attractions fitting in there - JDS is a well themed, enjoyable attraction for kids and allows parents to jump on with them. I think it’s a good attraction, and it’s always popular basing it off the queue lines. I dunno if it was designed to bring new guests to the park, moreso to entertain the ones already in the park - much like any rides aimed for that demographic
  5. Ehh... leave it in a backpack. I’ve never had a problem at the beach or at a water park.
  6. Thanks scoop, even my 5 year old understands sarcasm... You realise you are arguing with ride ops that have worked at MW on WWF, yeah?
  7. I heard they were demolishing the mountain so they have full visibility at all times...
  8. Summer & school holidays on the GC and we only have one operational water-based ride outside of the water parks. Craziness...
  9. Could be wrong, but I doubt many Chinese people come to Australia to eat Chinese food... Theyd be more likely to try and enjoy more local cuisine and flavours. I wouldn’t go to China and look for a place with sausage Sanga’s and vegemite toast...
  10. I’m sure we had the locals pricing conversation a page or 2 back.
  11. Don’t have an issue with paid lockers at water parks. You don’t have an option to keep your valuables on you for parts of the day. If you don’t want to pay for lockers, bring a backpack and put everything in it and leave it on a chair with a towel over it. It’s a risk, but a small one. I’ve never had anything stolen from a backpack at a water park in my 18+ years of visiting them
  12. I get that at $200 a pop, a large family is going to find it tough to stump up $1000+ upfront, but in saying that, that’s assuming they are not locals, and are obviously holidaying on the GC more than once a year (or else why buy an annual when shorter terms are available), so I guess if you can afford to holiday interstate 2-3 times a year, you need to factor your entertainment requirements into your holiday budgets.
  13. Yet neither are examples of a traditional coaster. Jet Rescue is great for what it is, and Storm is an ok family-friendly water ride for summer months.
  14. You can’t buy vip magic passes from VTP. They don’t exist anymore, it seems they only apply/exist to a few promotional re-sellers, and I imagine that will only be for a limited time whilst existing contacts are seen through..
  15. Just a little Tid-bit of info that’s not really news as such... currently at the Studio Village Xmas Carols that are run in the MW overflow Carpark/grassed area, and have been held here for near on 2 decades. They just announced that this is the final year the Carols will be located here, as next year MW is expanding and the space will no longer be available. I believe this is the site earmarked for the hotel, so whether that’s going ahead or it’s a case of the Carpark expanding and this area being asphalted I’m not sure.
  16. Depends if they take exclusive rights or allow other productions in. The studios have been basically booked solid for 3 years now, so you’d argue they couldn’t really make it any bigger unless they look to expand
  17. Read that this Arvo too. Definitely a strange situation, but with a land sale contract stipulation that the theme park land will be retained on a 60 year lease, I don’t think it would Mean anything for MW. Quite the weird occurrence though potentially having a permanent ‘Marvel Studios’ located next to a DC-centric theme park with a Joker head laughing at all the Marvel guys down below...
  18. Memberships no longer exist, except for those currently on them, who will retain their prices and benefits. The membership centre was for signing up new members and taking photos - so no longer necessary
  19. Why do the operators need to see the riders If they are in a cage anyway?
  20. That’s not been their strategy in any other holiday season, I personally don’t feel that’s the case. An annual pass whether bought today or in February still gives you access to 1 Xmas holiday period so either way the value remains the same
  21. Wipes out too many teens (target demographix) being able to utilise if you need a card
  22. Whilst I don’t know the official answer on that, I’d like to think there is some form of override available based on the max queue wait time on the given day.
  23. It was a tongue in cheek comment but also laced with some truth. we’ve got a park with only one ride suited to people over the age of 7, and we’re blowing $$$ on what appears to be scenery theming. If the volcano was in the centre of the area and was functional as some sort of water spray/dump feature then it would be fine...
