  1. No rain at the theme parks today at all. Chance of a storm this evening. Same thing they said last night on the forecast. Not sure what you listen to... Gotta remember when they give Gold Coast weather, they are referring to the seaway/southport/beaches. Oxenford/Coomera gets a lot less precipitation. But given you are now the official Parks weather advisor, I'll leave future posts to yourself
  2. I think the point reanimated was getting at was that your now cancelled trip had never been mentioned or discussed in this thread previously, hence informing us you were no longer going on this trip was fairly irrelevant. It's like a mate telling you he can't come round for a beer when you hadn't invited him anyway...
  3. If superman is running 2 trains, I'd do AA first, then Superman. If you are there by 9:30 for a 10am open you'll have them both done by 10:30. In fact is comfortably say you'd have those 4 done by 11:30 at the latest even on a busy day.
  4. Well there is not historical data to compare or analyse against. Any response will be pure guess work. Brisbane workers get a long weekend, so I guess it's plausible that some may head down the coast, but I don't think there will be an obvious or noticeable increase on say, this weeks attendance. Again, there's nothing to prove or disprove that, just an opinion
  5. Don't disagree Alex, But raising the price by say $20, but then offering a discount off locker hire & food in park, in my opinion, would in most cases lead to reduced revenue for the park.
  6. They're literally making jack all from the cost of a VIP, they rely on that subsequent in park spend be it on food/lockers/photos/games etc to get their cost per head/avg spend up.
  7. Depends what you want out of it. It's certainly a family oriented event, I really enjoy it, but can see why teenagers would be bored, as for them it's really just the later opening hours for the rides that offers something
  8. ^ see, now that's the type of ridiculous comment that media get a hold of an write a story about. Cyclone isn't the smoothest ride, but No-one without a serious pre-existing back complain/strain/issue is gonna get off it and not be able to walk. What a ludicrous statement.
  9. Cheers buddy... I didn't know that... I have a mate who's great grandmother is 101, don't mean everyone's gonna make it that long..
  10. Wow... So..Thunderbolt closed as it had been in operation for 21 years and had reached the point of no return. Cyclone is certainly not 'boring', well certainly no moreso than Thunderbolt. As for bumpy, is Thunderbolt was still running as you imply would be your preference, at over 33 years of age I'd say you'd need a hip replacement from the bumps after each ride.
  11. That promo ran for about 4 weeks, it's not a regular part of a World Pass. If I bought one 6,9,12,24 months ago, or today, I don't get that benefit.
  12. 'Good' is a fairly ambiguous description to use, as it varies between people.
  13. VIP pass is getting you 3 parks, and after hours events. World pass doesn't give u Screamworld access. Both are well under-valued, especially the VIP pass, but they have set the tone in the past 5 years which means a marked increase wouldn't be accepted by the market. 8 years ago when I moved to the GC, the VIP passes were $220 and that was before the night events existed. I happily paid it, and still would. I personally think they could raise to $120 and $150 for VIP gold and avoid a large decline in uptake if they installed the buy 3 get 1 free permanently
  14. ^cool story. I went to Dreamworld (and Woolworths, IGA and BWS). And ate pizza.
  15. Doubt they are going to invest significant capital into fixing an element which doesn't effect ride experience
  16. Also noted on the footer of their email that they are having 'Screamworld Ride & Slide' nights on friday nights in January. Great initiative after what was an enjoyable Night Water World last season
  17. Yeh 30mins tops if they are running efficiently.
  18. Let's go with a big, massive No. Won't be allowed, don't bother trying.
  19. First weekend of the school holidays so if the weather is nice it'll be busy. Whichever park interests you the most, do on the Friday as that will be the quieter of the 3 days you are there Currumbin, or save your money and go to Coroboree at DW
  20. Still don't understand the event dates post Xmas. Just such a weird decision for mine. No Arkham for White Xmas is disappointing. Still looking forward to the event
  21. Well given that TV, Wipeout & TS are completed, this thread is off topic already so may as well continue that way...
  22. Yeh no idea about the specifics but someone here would surely know. I've seen it run empty in the mornings and test cycles after a stoppage. Maybe it's more weight distribution being even?
  23. Whilst i cant remember the number, i too have had to 'wait' for a certain amount to passengers before the ride could disembark. Not sure if its potentially weather/wind dependent or what but it was mentioned at the time it was a weight related issue. This was a good 18 months - 2 years ago, so the details a little hazy
  24. Not particularly relevant to this thread, but also not really worthy of its own. MW currently offering an in-season VIP Dining Pass. VIPs only pay $99 (adults) or $69 (kids) for unlimited access to Ricks Buffet through to 30 June 2015 Sounds like an amazing deal for those who go regularly, food is pretty good too!
