  1. It's not that they can't open a new ride/s & refresh one & renew facilities etc, but there is obviously a maximum capex available per annum, which may not be enough for the 'big 10' ride we want to see, in which case a moderate spend in 2015 may allow for increased spend in 16. All pure conjecture though.
  2. No idea on the Wiggles contract, I don't believe that was ever publicly disclosed. Very relevant still just with the 3 new guys. My 2 year old and many friends kids love them, still selling out hundreds of shows a year DW is owned by Ardent Leisure, separated from Macquarie Leisure in 2009
  3. I'd say the final decision on that will be made in coming weeks/early 2015.
  4. 2015 I think we'll see another large existing ride refurb like wipeout received this year (maybe Thunder River) as well as a new kids ride, maybe in wiggle world which is probably due for some love after the Dreamworks introduction. 2016 will be 'Big 10' Year where we hopefully see a large scale, Australian-first drawcard.
  5. Assuming that means you haven't attended since at least late June, which was when the majority of passes expired. Given that was 5 months ago, and the refresh/maintenance has taken place since them and been discussed on here, why are you complaining?
  6. I have it on good authority they are creating a garden to grow dirt. And Rocks.
  7. I love it! Effective, cost friendly, gets people talking!
  8. There's been no official announcement, but ratings have fallen sharply this year, whereas the previous 2 seasons had the best ratings the show had ever had. I've always liked the show, but haven't stopped watching it after 2 weeks as this years housemates are just plain boring. Still doubt it's cancelling will result in anything happening to blue lagoon
  9. And you certainly didn't go behind the big brother house, or even within 200m of it
  10. On a sombre note, thoughts & prayers for the family & friends of the Movieworld employee who was killed in a car accident leaving the park yesterday afternoon... I know some of you do/have worked at the park and would likely know her
  11. Whilst I'm sure you're correct, I'd bet some would have said the same regarding Eureka when it closed..
  12. Funnily enough the water looked pretty damned clear today, ducks & turtles looked fine to me!
  13. So the answer was, not busy really. Arrived at WWW at 10:15 concerned I wouldn't get a shady seat anywhere given it was already about 32 degrees. Got on, no problem getting a 4 deck chairs at Wiggle Bay. Max 15-20min wait for any slide, most slides 5min waits by 3pm. Headed into DW at about 1pm, 5min wait times for Tailspin, Wipeout running half full. Buzzsaw 10mins, TOT 15. Carpark never got above about 60% full.
  14. That's the most ridiculous ranking I've ever seen. Aussie world & jambaroo above SeaWorld, now come-on... Also where in MW is Diagon Alley? Haha
  15. Coomera set for 39-41 degrees Saturday & sunday. Gonna be a scorcher. 55km of gridlock heading to the coast from Brisbane. I wouldn't bother! Haha
  16. There is just too many factors - Zoning, local govt opinion, greenies, the fact it falls between 4 council areas means 4 major hoops to jump thru rather than one.
  17. Claw was running today Wipeout was down though, not sure if it was scheduled as seems fairly soon to be back under maintenance. Water was drained, cherry picker being used. Ride was on the diagonal, seemed to be working on the left support/gear
  18. VIP passes always expire in June. I think around march/April they sell passes through to the following June.
  19. Our SW never has had orcas. Nothing to do with BF, which was only made a couple years back, and is really just contrived, agenda-driven propaganda
  20. Lol. Who told you that? Given only world leaders attend G20 - are you stating that one of our world leaders was in fact a terrorist? Haha. If you are referring to the recent 'terror raids' across the country, they had nothing to do with the G20 and more to do with foiling plans for ISIL extremists wanting notoriety and public shows of power.
  21. Terrorists?? Haha. With all the security on hand, I'd say it's the least most likely time for terrorist activity in Brisbane. It's also only a long weekend for people who work in the Brisbane CBD, if you work outside the exclusion zone, you still have to work!
