  1. There is no doubt for teens and young adults WnW is the pick, it’s the “cool” option… but I’m with dapto here in saying if I want a relaxing day with my son/family, it’s WWW. We still go to WnW a few times each season, but it’s always chaotic, even getting a park is a mission in summer. WWW you can mosey in, get a deckchair anytime, and don’t feel like your half a km away if you want to go back for a drink
  2. Ridiculous elevator screens and off timed animations need a full overhaul
  3. Wouldn’t think so. barrier fence at the end of the Main Street shops and another at kickback cove and there is a direct exit route straight to the carpark for heavy vehicles. Just means those on Main Street wanting to head to Gold Coaster and shockwave have to go via Dreamland
  4. It covers that a lot more than any other park would. They just need to ensure they don’t have 2 other flats down consecutively at any other time during the year to not piss off locals At the end of the day It is all marketing strategy for the day trip and interstate market. There is enough buzz from Rivertown to drive attendances through 2025. King Claw is spaced out enough to pull back return trips for those who checkout Rivertown Xmas/easter
  5. They would want to give Rivertown 12 months of clear air in terms of being the newest thing, then when the excitement of the new area wanes…. Bam… king claw opens. I’m sure they could get it built in a shorter timeline if they wanted to, but there is no benefit to do so
  6. Sounds like you have a tafe project you need help with…. You’ll find answers to plenty of your questions by doing some keyword searches on the forums as a lot of it has been discussed. you can also get real world data and analytics from Coast Entertainments most recent FY reporting
  7. “We are planning something new but I can’t give details” Super. She wouldn’t be doing her job if she wasn’t planning something new at some point…
  8. That wasn’t my experience at all. Think the most express pass queuing we had was on Journey at about 10mins, actually maybe it was Minion mayhem at around 15, but standby queues at the time were both in excess of 90mins. Why is ensuring rider and guest safety overzealous? Clearly these were put in place out of necessity or they wouldn’t be there Would you not have preempted what your toddler could ride by checking restrictions prior to visiting? and to circle back to your first paragraph Monday was a public holiday in Japan. If you thought visiting the second highest attended theme park in the world on a public holiday was going to be calm and easy going adventure, you failed to plan
  9. Whilst there is zero chance of BB returning to DW, the original iterations of the show filmed at DW were highly successful and had a positive impact for the park in terms of revenue, visitation and marketability. not sure why you are hooked on “pathetic stupid rubbish” as a descriptor, and while I agree for 2-3 recent pre-recorded series have been failures, the twisted comment makes no sense.
  10. It’s these ridiculous comments that are nonsensical. DW has the biggest range of rides, and more importantly - operational rides - of any theme park on the GC. If they are a half day park; then the others are 1/4 days being dragged out to full days by intentionally poor operations.
  11. I love the "we can say its due to guest feedback" not a very subtle dig at MW announcing Doomsday would stop full rotation....
  12. Seems like a real missed opportunity to not open the biggest pool in the country….
  13. Greg described Claw in the press conference as having reached end of life, so it won’t be going anywhere other than a scrap heap
  14. Seems DW has already pumped some $$ into promo on GCB... however the landing page the link takes you to isn't active yet so its just an error message
  15. Wouldn’t want a giant banana flying through the air… may hit a helicopter
  16. Can almost guarantee with a level of certainty that there will be seatbelts as an extra layer of redundancy.
  17. so... if they had gone with a 47m swing height, would that have then be classified as incredibly sized? And then moved from "average" to "good" ? You have to remember the Claw plot isn't exactly in clear pastures, the clearance margins are finite, and for all we know this is the total extent to which they could go without having to remove a neighbouring ride or greatly alter the footprint / site which would then have exceeded budget.
  18. I'm not upset, but Dreamworld isnt trying to best a travelling ride that operates in its market for 3 days each year....
  19. There is no reason they couldn't have replaced Claw with an entirely different ride altogether, but beating the height of a travelling ride would not have played into any conversation or decision making
  20. yet absolutely no one cares about this fact, apart from, you. The GP don't, hell 99% of them wouldnt even know what Beast is, let alone it's height or where they could ride it next.
  21. What fanfare are you speaking of? because to this end, there has been none. Its just chatter on a theme park forum. it's 2m shorter than Beast, which in the grand scheme of things is nothing, and Beast is a travelling ride so isn't even included in records for permanent installations at theme parks. 2m of height doesn't change whether something is "premiere" or not. The massive jump in height will already alienate some riders that currently enjoy Claw - which is an immensely popular attraction. Add a full inversion to it and you are then moving from a moderate to high thrill ride, and scaring away a hell of a lot of riders. I think the decision not to go full loop is the absolute correct one in this case.
  22. FloRider is gone. The concept has had its time, especially given the location. It made somewhat sense when there WWW entry was there, but no longer. Trolls Village? I mean it hasn't been that for years, and they don't have a dreamworks license, so that isnt happening.
  23. First Marine Hospital that allows visitors to walk through whilst holding giant golden bananas from a sideshow game
  24. Pretty sure this could have just been posted in the existing thread
