  1. That is great! I assume the next focus will either be the rebranded Dreamworks area or the wave swinger?
  2. Today is the day Victorian theme parks change forever. TNT and Project Zero officially open. This is the place to share your thoughts, comments, feedback and photos of the new coasters at Gumbuya World.
  3. The only problem is that Byron Bay is closer to WnW/MW/WWW/DW than Bendigo/Echuca etc. is to any of the parks. Its only an hour and 15 minutes from Byron to Dreamworld whnile it is nearly 2 hours from Bendigo to Funfields and 2.5 hours to Adventure Park/Gumbuya World.
  4. Same here. I would most likely do this: Build a brand new theme park in northern Victoria near Bendigo. I feel like the north of Victoria needs one close to them (Bendigo, Shepparton, Echuca etc.) and that will solve it. The big difference would be that there would be no water/rides, just rides. Here are the list of rides: Main Street (includes shops, cafe, theater, gift shop) $7 million Kids area (planes, carousel, kids coaster, kids droptower, mini car ride, kids ferris wheel, teacups) $15-20 million SBF Droptower $5 million Intamin Gyro Swing $5 million Zamperla swinger (similar to Pandamonium) $9 million Mack Rides coaster $30 million Wood coaster $18 million Wave Swinger $5 million In total it would be an estimated $99 million, plus an extra million for advertising. What do you think?
  5. Hi moderators: Will a separate thread be made for reviews/this one closed on Friday (like Steel Taipan/The New Atlantis) or do we post reviews in this one? Thanks, just clarifying.
  6. According to the website, GL and DD are down. Can anyone at the park confirm this?
  7. When the additions are completed in 2024, I would LOVE to see a remake of this ad. Some rides would be changed to fit the modern era, for example instead of the Eureka Mountain Mine Ride they could use Jungle Rush, and Steel Taipan instead of Thunderbolt. Greg Yong has changed things for the better IMO and is bringing Dreamworld back to its roots.
  8. I would TBH. If you get a Village 3-day pass you can go to MW, WnW and SW. Even if it is raining you could substitute WnW for another day at MW etc. as they have all their rides open (except the carousel) and Roxy Theater/Scooby are inside. However I think they only close the rides if there is storms etc.
  9. Giant Drop maintenance has been extended until March 31 2023. It will mean it will be closed for around 340 days.
  10. Yes we will. Personally, I hope they renovate the other rides entrances to make three entrances like PZ/TNT. RE: The other 5 rides, this is what I would like to see in the next 10 years: New slide tower for Oasis Springs. This would include a Tornado 60, BehemothBowl 60, Hydromagnetic Rocket and 2 Superloops. All 5 slides would be made by ProSlide and put next to the wave pool. Opens in 2023 or 2024. A new resort for Gippsland visitors. It would be located where the rose farm next to Gumbuya World currently is, and would feature 1 pool, a spa, tennis court and games room as well as 3 storeys of hotel rooms. A free day to Gumbuya World would be included with the hotel cost. Opens in 2024 or 2025. New expansions to Oz Adventure and Outback Explorers. Outback Explorers would get a plane ride and carousel (cheap rides) as well as a Intamin or SBF droptower. Opens in 2027 or 2028. What do you think?
  11. Mad Jungle Jam's maintenance period will now be 30 Jan to 31 March. VERY interesting.
  12. Looks good @Luke! It seems that there will be picnic tables around TNT where people can watch the coaster while eating lunch etc. Is there a separate line for Express Q Luke? I do agree that Abyss and Big Dipper are better than Project Zero, but because Adventure World only has two coasters Gumbuya World would have to beat it, however for me LPS beats Gumbuya. Basically ranking all non-GC parks in Australia by coasters: Luna Park Sydney Gumbuya World Adventure World Luna Park Melbourne Magic Mountain Adventure Park
  13. That would be a good idea. Whatever they do, Dreamworld need to make Motocoaster fit in the area. If nothing changes it will stick out like a sore thumb.
  14. Yes, it is strange. And the rides closing are EFM, PIBSS, SOGR, GG and PN, all in the Dreamworks area. I feel like the maintenance will be extended and the rides repainted in two stages.
  15. Features some POV footage of TNT. IMO Luna Park Sydney and Gumbuya World have the best coasters outside-GC.
  16. With Motocoaster, they could do these: Retheme to go with the Rivertown area Remove the ride/add another ride there Remove the ride/add the remote control boats Remove the ride and leave the land empty Leave it how it is I hope 1 or 2 happens (with it sold to a smaller park if 2 happens) but I feel like it will be 4 or 5.
  17. IIRC Boomerango, Taipan and the kids playground was from White Water West, while Red Belly Racer and Tiger Snake Tango was from Proslide. I would love a slide tower either next to the wave pool or behind Project Zero with these: Tornado 60 BehemonthBowl 60 HydroMagnetic Rocket Superloop IMO if they added these it would make the Oasis Springs area on par with White Water World. Yes, they may have a few less slides but they have a lazy river, surfing area and heated rock pool that makes up for it.
  18. Now White Water World, Wet N Wild, Raging Waters, Funfields, Adventure Park and Adventure World all have Tornadoes, in other words all major water parks except Gumbuya World. I feel like the latter will most likely follow suit in its next Oasis Springs expansion.
  19. According to Funfields Facebook, Supernova will open on 26 December, 3 days after the new coasters at Gumbuya World.
  20. Yes it was. Greg is finally starting to turn Dreamworld around after years of neglect. The new additions will finally make up for all the rides lost in the past 10 years.
  21. It looks like there is two entrances for TNT: The one on the left is the normal queue line for people without Express Q The one in the middle is for Express Q members The one on the right is the exit As for Project Zero: The left netted pathway is the exit The middle entrance path is for Express Q The one on the right is for normal queue line Wonder if the other rides will get a change to fit in with TNT/PZ?
  22. Yes the journos hate theme parks. If they had there way (especially Seven) all the parks would be shut forever.
  23. I am thinking they could do it during the annual maintenance period - say EFM goes down in April, the refurb to KFF is done then and opened in May or June. Same could happen with OGR and DF to BIP and BRP respectively, and GG and PIB (however they were not shown during the announcements and the new rides need space so will probably be retired). Pandanonium would be a problem however.
  24. @themagician will all the rides go down at once or in stages, etc. EFM closes and is redone, then Pandanonium, then Shrek/Dronkeys is done. Also do you know what rides will be going?
  25. Funfields - Would be good as they don't have a coaster currently Aussie World - Would be great, but I doubt it would fit in the park Gumbuya World - Would be seen as insuperior to TNT and PZ, I would rather them spend it on waterslides as they have enough coasters for now
