TPSN once again showing they really are the short bus of theme park pages. -
Yes by all means, let's have a half baked theme on a Vekoma SLC over a Mack Hypercoaster with little theme...

Yeah like it's pretty obviously a steep hill/drop or loop. Forget the shape of the supports. Look at the flanges on top where the track connects. You can see its one straight steady incline. As for the huge comment... I think people arent realising just how big this thing is going to be. Understandable if you haven't seen a coaster of this style in person before. Remember we're talking Batwing height here. It's currently tiny compared to how big it's gonna get. Will be one very impressive structure to b sure. -
Arkham Asylum - VR coaster at Movie World

Yeah AlexB did you even read my post where I pointed out the numerous differences between Scooby and the way you propose for Arkham? -
Oh dear this is getting a tad ridiculous. Simple... Scooby it is a fundamental part of the ride control system, specifically and only integrated for this purpose. THREE things would need to happen in order for it to go wrong. The main operator enables track crossing mode... you will see a green light come on beside the control room and also a light comes on illuminating the step on the track where you cross. this is also only a slight (ie normal size step). Then the cast memeber knows it's safe to cross and can do so. Then once they have completed the crossing, crossing mode can be turned off. THEN the station attendant still has to dispatch a car (remember the main op doesn't dispatch cars) before something moves. So that's three people who have to violate a set and documented procedure for there to be any sort of incident. Arhkam, there is no such system. The main op simply brings the train back in (if its not automatic - i dont know if it is). So the floor which isn't locked out needs to not move for 1. The cast member needs to take large steps down and back up to cross the lowered floor, and not fall over or trip. The main op needs to know they are crossing and be aware of that (they are meant to be looking at the train) and then not follow the usual procedure of bringing the train in. So it only takes one person to cause an accident, and it isn't a formalised part of ride operating procedures or the control system, totally different.

You've all probably noticed an awful lot of posts vanishing from this thread. We've been pretty clear that we will be moderating this topic to keep it on topic. Anything not relevant to the coaster construction (and this includes commenting on other peoples questions or posts) is going to be removed, so may as well stop wasting your time posting such things in the first place. -
Arkham Asylum - VR coaster at Movie World

I don't know if it is, hence my IF in my post. To be honest even if there was 'plenty of time' I would say it's still a no go. Australian theme park safety policies for staff tend to be very much on the side of caution. -
Arkham Asylum - VR coaster at Movie World

Not so sure AlexB. Scooby has a provision in the ride control to allow track crossing that won't allow the cars to advance if in crossing mode. If Arkham is programmed just to bring the train back into the station I would dare say staff aren't permitted to cross the dropped floor mid cycle. As for loose items, guess I just have a little trust left in the world that I don't think twice about leaving items behind. Hell in the US it's common practice just to leave your bag on the platform. I think it would just be a miserable existence to go around all day paranoid someone was gonna steal my stuff. -
The story has been updated. There was no SMASHING of trains. It was a minor low speed bumping. Typical sensationalist new reporting and people wanting to get their name on the news.

Would like you to stop starting ridiculous topics... guess we all have wants in life -
Hey having the option of riding backwards on the same car is really cool!

Don't be silly. The park opening times he feels the need to post every day are highly accurate. -

Doubt it's for a walkway as that wouldn't usually be in the Mack scope. Are these the same containers as the coaster is shipping in? -

Forgot to mention you can usually get good deals buying tickets in park, particular on day of so maybe check those options out when next at movie world or sea world. -

Goto to surfers and sit through a bullshit seminar for some discounts from those awful ticket seller mobs. In all reality $100 might sound like a lot but you have to think of it as buying dinner and drinks and tickets to a show, then it seems like a much better deal. -

The 'off the rails' maintenance design also makes it super easy to change out wheels and also prevents flat spots when trains sit unused for extended periods. B&M have been doing this for a long time. -

I would think something like maintenance bat (and any appropriate footings) would fall under the station tender and not the coaster yeah? Being as how the maintenance track doesn't affect the engineering of the ride and all. -
That just sounds awful. One thing worse than VR is having to take VR on and off.
-
Hang on. So does it use VR or not? Why are there live actors if you are wearing a VR headset?

Again this thread is about the progress of the coaster construction. Anything not about that is going to get deleted or moved. -

I had a chat with it and seems it had a rough night and was a bit down but has perked up today and is doing well.
