This thread makes my brain hurt. With the source now posted there's no real reason to leave it open. If you two want to continue to bicker then take it to PMs cause I'm pretty sure you're the only two reading your posts anyway.- 10 replies

Fright Nights 2017 Wishful Thinking/Speculation
rappa replied to omega237's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Yeah I agree with AlexB **fucking woah hold the phone!!** I don't think a higher price would really affect in park spend per head. If you're going you're going, you've already forgot about that extra couple $s a month you've paid to get in and you're still hungry. There's no pass outs so many people are going to eat, and I'm certainly still going to drink. It has been shown on overcrowded days F&B spend goes down simply because people can't get into the outlet/don't wanna wait. If it's quieter over more nights you may well then capture all the sales of those people that 'didn't bother' because it was too busy. There's certainly a fine line tipping point between lack of revenue due to low numbers and lack of revenue due to overcrowding. -

Footer = silly sepo speak This is all assuming the ride even has a loop, if it's true hyper may well not have inversions at all! The area you're talking about AlexB, is that where we assume this thing is going to have to turn around and head for home? -
Parkz News Are Australian theme park rides safe?
rappa replied to Parkz News's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Well because you should feel safe going to a park and assuming that anything that happens is perfectly normal. We've been doing it for decades, what I more puzzling is why in the last couple years it's all "omg the sky is falling" when your carriage stops. Hell I remember we just used to laugh when you stopped, you knew it wasn't the regular operation of the ride and it was just funny that it happened. -
Yeah agajn, not everyone knows that so it just makes the forum look like a nasty fest. Sarcasm doesn't really work on the net so keep it nice kids

Umm no real need for the snappy smart ass responses. Not everyone knows who's joking and when.

Parkz News Are Australian theme park rides safe?
rappa replied to Parkz News's topic in Theme Park Discussion
It's simple. Everything is a stoppage. There is no such thing as a Break Down on a ride unless something catastrophic happens because the rides stop before there is a failure of components. So everything is a stoppage. Whether it be for a minute or an hour. Everytime a ride stops it's 'normal'. It's working as intended. You just didn't get to complete the ride. -
Dreamworld Lego Store - reviews and opinions
rappa replied to Jamberoo Fan's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Yeah I'm in the don't get it camp also. Its just a shop that sells stuff you can buy anywhere and even online. Sure it's painted yellow and had Lego on the front but to line up for hours? Bout as mental as lining up all night at the Apple Store. Again just a shop, cept painted white -

Best chance of rollback is for a very light train (or empty) to be launched before you and you be in a very heavy train. Especially on a cold day or the start of the day. The launch system measures each trains speed and adjusts the launch power through the day based on the historical data, so if you have a train that is suddenly very heavy with cold bearings and wheels then it might not make it. Much less likely on superman as the top hat isn't very high.

In today's climate taking the risk and liability on in manufacturing you're own chemicals far outweighs and savings. -

Woah no at this!!! any chemical that is atomized and breathed in by people should never be knocked up on ones own. Extensive testing and chemical controls go into something that may seem a trivial as smoke fluid. -
Disney are easily the best at this IMO because it's such a polished routine. Almost immediately a spiel will occur to let you know all is good and to remain seated. Straight after work lights will come on. And quickly after this attendants will come to tend to you, either by sending you on your way (say space mountain) or taking you out of the attraction. I also thing what helps a lot that's it's the regular CMs doing all this. Makes it feel a lot more 'normal' than mechanics showing up. The other thing they do is extensive PA announcements throughout the attraction describing everything that is happening step by step, so everyone is aware what is happening and not sitting 'stuck in fear'. I mean is anyone surprised though? Disney are the best at everything they do.

Again an opinion based on something not even built yet. -
See I actually kind of do expect them to. It's a very delicate issue right now in the eyes of the public. But what I DO expect is rather than blowing them out as 'near death' situations they actually educate the public on how it's not a big deal. Start to rebuild the publics trust in the parks. Especially from a local rag like the bully. Buf no because that sad excuse for a 'news' paper only cares about links to its new member only section or blatantly ripping off articles from Parkz.

Given this ride we can assume is going to be the most ball tearing thrilling ride the country has ever seen I feel like any concerns over 'not being innovative' will go out the window once we ride -
Actually there is a remote electrical backup system to drop the gondola from any height. It would be preferable to do this rather than evac should something prevent the winch lowering the catch car. Due to the nature of the braking system it's safe to drop from any height as braking force is proportionate to speed and does not require any power to operate. The only time you wouldn't want to drop the car is if for some reason the wire rope guides weren't retracted as that would be a bit messy.

Please nobody every again start a topic with "I know you don't want these threads but I'm starting one because there isn't one" which is what this basically says. NO threads on 'general' park items. Make a specific topic. **thread has since been edited
