  1. On themeparks.com.au? or by calling the call centre?
  2. I'd like that poll feature someone asked for. My poll would be IS POP: a) 6 years old b)overdue for a stay in the rubber room c)epic troll who's bridge should collapse on him
  3. They weren't actors! They were just attractions cast members acting in character just like you'd see at Disney, and was the same with Bermuda. And yes as mentioned, that's how the exit worked, which is why I said so in the first place
  4. I love it when someone starts a thread and asks for opinions but tells you there are certain opinions they don't want. Sorry forgot what my opinion was from all the boozin
  5. The great thing about Gremlins, and Burmuda, and Toons and the Studio Tour/effects stages is they were really long. All 15min or more attractions which is something you don't get from a coaster.
  6. I believe the building was raised significantly. The exit bit is enclosed slightly now and where the container used to be is what you can see there with the exhaust pipe which is the backup generator for Scooby.
  7. Problem is that monorail isn't owned by Jupiters, it's owned by Oasis and designed to bring people to the shops, not the other way around. So it's not really Jupiters not keeping it. I do feel though that access to the casino from broadbeach proper is crap, so they could do something to improve it. That existing bridge from the convention center is shit. And that's the end of the off topic convo for this evening.
  8. Wasn't the hole (pun intended) issue with SW getting air con the small clearance to make it through corkscrews track? if so should be no reason they couldn't no be air conditioned.
  9. Nah show stage is its own standalone entity however all HVAC Plant needs regular maintenance anyway.
  10. The Sydney one would have been great, not a novelty at all except it didn't go anywhere useful. If it had linked Darling Habour with other high traffic locations it would have had ridership.
  11. WTF would they be doing Demo in western town if they were putting in a tower ride in the middle of Superman? Honestly sometimes I wonder about what I read here. Giving they painted half of Superman last year, wouldn't it be safe to assume Superman was going down for paint?
  12. Yes and with an upgraded control system and new motor cars I wouldn't see why multiple trains running at high speed would be any sort of issue.
  13. Good way to go through life! Being mediocre and making no effort to improve that whatsoever.
  14. I'm sure the whole area will just be expanded as one cohesive area and you will never even know it was smaller and different before.
  15. Not true Regulations on the number of Gs a person can be subjected to are the cause of the slow down because the ride runs backwards. Also the transition angle from horiz to vert on our ride is much sharper than at SFMM so that coupled with more lax regs allow their attraction to run faster.
  16. People in both parks definitely know what the other is up to.
  17. Most park steam engines burn oil for the clean/ease factor. I I was delighted to see the train at Dollywood was a massive coal burning engine. It was very impressive.
  18. Meh Brooklyn Depot is the most overrated restaurant on the Gold Coast and there is nothing American about their 'American style' menu. If if you want a decent burger head to Longboards at Q1 Back on topic, both the burger offerings at Movie World and Dreamorld are now pretty good. They just cost appropriately.
  19. Don't agree with Webslave about Bermuda... If you found the video on a loop at the end of the day then it wasn't BT's heyday, I remember even at about 4:45 they would still be running the Pre-Show. It was somewhat essential to the story really the pre-show IMO. And it was Viking's Revenge that was first quoted by Arrow but the park built it in house for a fraction of the cost. BT really was an amazing Dark Ride, nothing has been built before it or after in Aus that even comes close. Tunes was probably the runner up, but it could match Bermuda in effects and ride system. The thrill BT managed to achieve with a basic boat ride system with ZERO restraints is probably Disney level IMO.
  20. Like I said 'pretty much'. Toon town, buzz, subs, tree house but nothing like the impact of the major e-tickets.
  21. There were plenty of songs that have just been released in the best box mix and props to DW for using such an accomplished DJ in Ferris to put it together. I thought it was a fantastic set with wide appeal. As as for attractions. Disneyland pretty much hasn't added anything in 20 years but it's huge success comes from atmosphere... Enough said
  22. Superman needs the unload for its block system to allow a train to launch as soon as it advances from unload. There is no block between launch and inn load and no way to stop a train from entering unload. Without the unload station you wouldn't be able to launch until you dispatched a new train. Of course that doesn't mean you couldn't just use unload as a block brake and leave the guests on until the next platform. I think unload is for show more than anything on superman. I do remember though in its first year of operations it was amazing how fast that que ran through.
  23. Like I said and I think someone else was getting at. I don't think that piece of theming is amazing enough that it's not worth sacrificing seeing it in order for better load times. Besides does anyone believe they are riding a subway anyhow given you just put on an over the shoulder restraint?
  24. Think you've all missed Joz's point. He means if the doors are transparent you will see superman After the train dispatches and rolls past the doors.
  25. Great read from Scenic World! I can probably shed some light on much of the mystery if you want to PM me some time.
