  1. @ Admin: Can we have all the stuff on cruise terminals, development and casinos moved to a new, appropriately titled thread. It's an interesting discussion, but in the wrong place. Back on topic, has anybody ridden Sea Viper since it reopened (it has reopened hasn't it? Or is it still testing)?
  2. I am interested in taking this up with Movie World. What I am trying to garner before I do is whether there is evidence that they are operating in a manner that contradicts any advertisements or statements that they make. I have done some searching but haven't been able to find on the websites what your admission includes. Does anyone still have their VIP pass letters? I'd like to reread one of them.
  3. I have no problem with lockers being available to purchase for convenience, and completely understand wanting to drop a bag off and be able to access it throughout the day. And I have gladly payed for that convenience in multiple (usually water) parks around the world. However, my big gripe is that even if you were to walk into Movie World with nothing but your wallet. You have no choice but to get a locker for an additional cost to be able to ride all of the rides.
  4. I have been wanting to raise the question for a while of whether charging for the short term lockers actually invalidates any claims the park's make (in any advertising or signage at the gate). For example, if they claim that your entry includes all rides or unlimited rides, then this is in fact made false by forcing the use of charged lockers (either on people who attend alone so therefore have no alternative, or any couples / groups who wish to ride together) on anyone who brings a single item into the park, i.e. everyone. The simple fact is that you cannot attend Movie World for the advertised price and ride all of the rides without incurring extra charges. And I believe in most circumstances if something is not included in the price that that should be clearly advertised. If you were to rock up to the park tomorrow alone Superman Escape & Green Lantern would effectively be up charges for you, and that just isn't right. I have been wanting to look into this for a while and haven't had a chance. But, if any of you guys want to give a bit of thought as to whether any claims the parks make are contradicted by their loose items policy, I'd be keen to hear what you've got as I would be interested in putting it to Village and any relevant regulatory departments.
  5. It will for the first 6 months, then will be replaced by the string of red LEDs they took out of Bermuda Triangle.
  6. Congratulations to Wyncenuros and your wife on the birth of your baby boy! You will now get to enjoy the theme parks in a whole new way. Seeing the joy on your kids face when you take them and they start venturing onto rides or meeting characters is priceless. And no kid, or Dad, forgets their first ride on a roller coaster with their father. You have lots of happy times (and not just theme park related) ahead. Enjoy every moment!
  7. While I never attended the Brisbane ones, Grace Bros. (now Myers) In Sydney also used to host a Lego World Display once a year. They were fairly large exhibitions and always very popular. I remember having some official guides or souvenir books from them (may still be packed away somewhere). After they stopped holding them at Myers they actually opened a permanent Lego World at Birkenhead Point, but it didn't seem to last long...
  8. They have two... http://www.rcdb.com/1127.htm http://www.rcdb.com/3950.htm But you are spot on, what Dreamworld really needs is another Mick Doohan's Motocoaster...
  9. ^ And depending on when your child turns 3 they may need a ticket within the next year anyway, so might as well get the 4th one for free for him.
  10. ^ Wait, the Green Lantern is gay?
  11. Dude... The Dodgems are technically a Dark Ride... As for yesterdays announcement, I like the name and think that this will be a huge hit and something that will really fill a gap in their lineup. I am already wondering whether Movie World will let you email your score and photo for free a-la Disney, or whether we will be charged...
  12. In regards to opening times, I think it was always 'Parks open at 10, with gates open from 9:30,' or at least has been for a while now.
  13. Wasn't sure where to put this, but this is from the Queensland's Police website: Full article: http://qpsmedia.govs...uin-gold-coast/ Which other aquarium has penguins?
  14. I think it is inevitable that it is just going to be referred to as Arkham Asylum anyway, in the same way that I never over heard anyone say "Lets go on Lethal Weapon - The Ride"
  15. ^^ I love how they've matched the profile pictures with the cover photos to create one integrated banner.
  16. The whole 'world' is really coming together. It looks to be fairly well themed. The Madagascar Madness area looks 'lush' and colourful, and Shrek's area looks in keeping with the film's. Initially I wasn't holding out a lot of hope for this, but it looks like it is going to be a really solid family-friendly area. Kids WB Zone just keeps looking sadder and sadder.... BTW, nice photo update Randy.
  17. Is it possible that the new train may wear / impact on the track differently?
  18. ^^ Not for a while. I can't say I remember the 'fly-coaster-a-chute'
  19. Sorry to bump an old thread, but just came across a classified for both the para tower and flycoaster here: http://www.amusement...iew.aspx?id=364 The bit that has me curious is this... What? How?
  20. ^^ The goose character wasn't 'deep-etched' correctly, meaning there is a big white square around him when he should be sitting on the ground. In the cropped picture Lscia8 posted, you can see it marked with a red circle. It has now been fixed on the website.
  21. So wait, the offer is for entry until June 22, 2012... ...with exclusive early entry to Dreamwork's lands including Po's Garden... Sounds like a great deal
  22. One of the Facebook fan pages are claiming that the green 'buttons' on the handles are used to unlock the harness. Can anyone confirm whether there is any truth to this? I was actually hoping that they would let you 'shock' the person next to you during the ride.
  23. From Dreamworld's updates... (http://www.dreamworld.com.au/Attractions/Pos-Kung-Fu-Garden/) Definitely mentions new rides!
  24. So the cars are themed to electric chairs? It's certainly an interesting touch and justifies the handles. I wonder whether it can actually give you a shock?
