  1. Yeah, its also a goner idea because they dont make it anymore. Heres my idea for a inverted coaster layout on the thunderbolt site. The station would be in the south west corner of the site, and the lift would head out along the the southern end of the site, the peak of the lift would be near the edge of the land they own, right near the freeway, then it would go into a u turn first drop and head back toward the park, before entering a vertical loop, and then straight into a zero g roll, then the riders would be whipped into a dive loop and a helix would bring them up into the MCBR, then another helix would bring them out of it before the riders get spun round a wingover, then a couple of intense twists and turns would follow, then another wingover before the track curves into the brakes.
  2. Hmm, i more see an impulse fitting in with SW cos of thier lack of space. I like the floorless idea, but i dont want to see any more ocean or wind themed rides, we have enough already, Id rather just see a new themed area started, to add some variety.
  3. When uou are typing a new post in Adcanced mode (Not Quick reply) scroll down to the button that says "manage attachments" click it and use the window that comes up to navigate to the file you want. As for the double post, just delete it, go to edit post and then at the top of the screen there is an option to delete your post.
  4. Dont let Richard hear you say that.
  5. Well, at least we know its definitley going to be a steel coaster, its in the park database. Rabid, do you know if this new coaster will be opening in september, or on boxing day. Fingers crossed for September.
  6. Simple, just ride the ride in the editor, and watch the lateral g readouts at the top.
  7. Gazza

    Contraptions

Well, they are ok, but quit with the TTD style rides.
  8. Try the website i posted, its not in english, but you should be able to work it out. Personally i think they should try more of these parks in europe where these events happened and where interest would be higher, rather than in Austraila, where i think it could fail. But hey, a possible new park, im not complaining.
  9. I saw the spyland park on RCDB, and it have to admit it looks pretty cool, at the french one they had a motorbike coaster planned for it and also a caprio i flyer ride (like that perydactly ride at IOA), and if this proposed one had one then that alone would be worth it. By the sounds of it, it will have good theming, and i hope it goes ahead. http://www.spyland.net/
  10. Its more about quality over quantity, for example, who would want flashback?
  11. The only way we are going to see coasters get much bigger nowdays is if we start using cliffs and buildings. Eventually its going to get to a point where it would be cheaper to just buy a fleet of stunt planes and take people up in them.
  12. well, who says it has to go around the edges, a waterslide can weave in anywhere.
  13. On the topic of X, its no longer out of the question becasue S&S are building a second 4d for a park in japan, and it will be bigger than X and will feature a Full/Full (zero g roll with 360* seat flip) Hopefully this one will do better. This was on the IAAPA report on www.coastersandmore.de So DW Could get a 4D
  14. What about if WnW got a transport system, like at Wild Wadi or Schlittterbahn beach. Basically its just a set of master blasters that go around the perimeter of the park with short lazy river sections in between, so you float from one ride to another without having to walk. Just run one around the park and it would be great.
  15. RC No Limits Challenge 1 – Thunderbolt Thrills (Due 10/01/05) I have decided to start a No Limits Challenge here, no prizes except for admiration from your fellow members, but this promises to be a whole lot of fun. The Story- After removing Thunderbolt, Dreamworld has decided its time to be bold and add a new ride to its arsenal, this ride needs to be exciting and be aimed at the Teenage thrill seeker Demographic. Dreamworld wants a ride that will attract people for many years to come, but the park has some requirements… The Rules- -The ride can be any variety you want except for Steel Looping (No longer made), Corkscrew Coaster (Park already has one) or Wooden (Not what the park is after) -The ride and its supports must fit entirely in the 85x150m recatngle provided on the template file, this area is the same as what Thunderbolt took up. -G Forces must stay in these limits: Vertical +5.5/-1.5, lateral +1.5/-1.5, acceleration +2/-2 -The ride cannot be a shuttle coaster -The ride must help with Dreamworlds capacity, and should be able to run at least 3 trains. -The ride must be fully supported -The ride must pass the Emergency stop test* -No 3ds or Terra forming, but trees are allowed -The track is to be zipped up and posted in this thread by January 10th 2005 Judging- Your ride will be judged, by me, on the following: -Excitement and adrenaline -The fun factor of it -Originality -Building Technique (how smooth the track is and wether brake runs and lifts are straight ect. -Wether it fits the criteria -Overall quality of the layout Tips- For your ride to be judged well, follow these pointers. -*The emergency stop test should be passed, this means you should run the ride and press F12 when the train comes through each block section, the train will be stopped, when F12 is pressed again it should be able to have enough energy to complete the circuit from a standing start. Do this on every block segment and if it can complete the circuit then you have passed. If it doesn’t make it, make some adjustments to your track so it does. -Your ride should not be just a chain of Pre-Made elements, try to make your own and make sure your ride has variety. You can use some pre made elements, but not too many. -Make sure that there is enough clearance around the track, so riders don’t get decapitated by supports that are too close for example. A simple way to test this is to select all track segments, then go to the settings dialogue box, and tick the tunnel box. Then ride the ride, if anything protrudes into the tunnel then its too close. Have fun, try to design the best ride you can. If anyone has any questions regarding the comp, just ask.
  16. Yeah, some do, but not all. Every rocket coaster so far has had a top hat, the problem is that Alton Towers is not allowed to build above the treeline so that means that a top hat is out of the question, unless they make the track drop into a deep trench and do a Kanonen type tophat where the height is only 25m or so. However, I expect this ride to be good, AT never seems to dissapoint when it comes to their thrill rides.
  17. Thats just speculation though, nobody has been that accurate trying to guess how AT rides end up, just remember back to AIR.
  18. Ah, but you have never ridden it for yourself, Sounds like Premature Adjudication to me. Here is apic of a Suspended twin hammer at a park in Malaysia:http://www.ridetrade.com/r_products_roundrides.htm
  19. i think there is a counterweight system in the ground that balances it out, seems like fun though, maye this will be the catalyst for more to be built.
  20. Removing upstop wheels!!!!!!!!! that would incredibly unsafe!
  21. Well, on the meshio site they do list some vekoma rides, make of it what you will. And the reson why their ranger is bad is apparrently because its not a huss. But the meshio one has lap bars which would be cool. Personally i like the ride trade twin inverted hammer out of this paticular ride variation.
  22. Its Corkscrew, its really yellow, its just the pics colours are messed up. It will be interesting to see how this gets pulled off, maybe it will have lots of turns that will give it a real race track feeling.
  23. So what is Trace Du Hourra (the bobsled) like? Are they a worthwhile ride? Do they provide many thrills? And do they provide a similar experience to a Wiegand Tobbogan run?
  24. Just dont put in 911 then, nobody really likes it anyway.
  25. Has anyone got any ideas for new coaster types? Here are some of mine: Ring coaster. Basically just the vehicle from a zamperla Disk-o mounted on a coaster track, it would be designed as a family ride and the rotation would afford panoramic views of the surrounding areas Back foward tilt coaster. The car is taken to the top and then fed onto a tilt track section, this tips foward onto another tilt section, which tilts backward onto another one that tilts foward and so on, zigzaging its way down. A magnet permanent brake means the cars can go right to the edge of each tilt scaring the riders, making them think they are going to fall off. Suspended crazy spin. Riders sit in a suspended outward facing vehicle, one seat pointing in each direction, the car is able to spin and it is connected to the wheel assembly via a univerasl joint, enabling free swinging in any driection. So it could swing side to side, but also swing foward and back in moments of decelleration.
