  1. I dont think anyone here really came up with the idea for a superman themed coaster anyway, Six Flags have been building them for years. Anyone who has suggested a ride like that on here (Including myself) have probably drawn inspiration from the rides at SF parks.
  2. A couple of times i saw World's where it should have been Worlds'
  3. Looking good there Richo, just might want to check up on your apostrophe use in the captions.
  4. I always got the impression around coaster sites that being on the ride when it rolls back was a holy grail of sorts. I reckon it would be fun, it would be like being on the TOT.
  5. Well, Inatmin has 3 track variations: 4 tube track: http://www.rcdb.com/ig2999.htm?picture=4 3 tube track: http://www.rcdb.com/ig2999.htm?picture=8 2 tube track: http://www.rcdb.com/ig2999.htm?picture=5 I imagine that 2 tube track would be used for the indoor sections becasue they would be fairly low speed so not as much stress would be on the track. So far I have only seen two tube track for the brake run, but i was expecting to see more of it onsite for the indoor sections.
  6. That film has been around for a little while now, but the DVD one uses those blue and red 3d glasses rather than the LCD or polarising ones used by commercial 3D theatres.
  7. So once SP and zodiac go, will the park be completley empty of rides?
  8. Just wondering if you could post the track file, it could be faster and better than downloading a video. Also, does anyone know if the indoor section has been built yet? I havent seen any pics of the two tube track they would use for those sections in the carpark, onsite etc. yet which leaves me wondering.
  9. Here is a Herald Sun article: Disney wishes upon a Jetstar John Masanauskas and Geraldine Mitchell 07sep05 AVALON airport is being considered as a site for a the first Disney World in Australia. US Disney executives inspected Avalon last month as part of a tour of possible Australian sites. Sources said the group, which was entertained by airport owner Linfox, was impressed with the location and the presence of cut-price airline Jetstar. Jetstar flies to Sydney, Brisbane and Adelaide from Avalon, and hopes to carry one million passengers through the airport annually by 2008. "A low-cost airline flying around families appealed to Disney," a source said. "This is the site that interests them the most." It is believed other sites looked at were Docklands and Werribee. Avalon airport manager Tim Anderson declined declined to comment. A spokesman for Linfox chief Lindsay Fox also declined to comment. Disney operates theme parks across the world, including in the US, France and Japan. Its latest park opens in Hong Kong next Monday. Treasurer John Brumby said global tourism and leisure companies such as Paramount, Warner Bros and the Walt Disney Corporation were constantly monitoring the Australian market for opportunities. He said the State Government could not comment "at this time". http://www.heraldsun.news.com.au/common/st...55E2862,00.html Those sort of Issues would affect a Disney park anywhere in Australia. Well Geelong is just down the road so people could stay there and further on south is the Surf Coast which already is a popular tourist area. The area already has good Infastructure and It wouldnt take much to build a motel or something. I doubt it would cost even half that, I imagine Jetstar would run all manner of packages for people to visit the park which could make things cheaper. Also, what you need to remember is that for some people a domestic holiday would be easier than an overseas one and would sooner spend money on Disney trip to somewhere in Australia rather than going overseas. And people wouldnt just stay in Avalon, they could go to Geelong or Melbourne from there. Or people on Holiday in Melbourne could take a trip down there.
  10. Well, Avalon is on the M1, Has an airport, fast rail and is in between Victorias two biggest cities so it could work. I dont think climate is an issue because It snows at Euro Disney but that place is year round.
  11. Looks like a very nice ride, but it really dwarfs Georgia Scorcher doesn't it? The Helix looks cool, I wonder if they are trying to capture the spirit of that famous helix on the SFMM version. But the ride is barely a Hyper coaster. Its height is 200ft and its drop is only 170ft.
  12. Would I be correct in saying that the Simulator and the indy 500 attractions are the ones now at LPM?
  13. The layout reminds me of rita, except the first turn has a top hat instead.
  14. Im a bit confused about the layout, could someone do something in MSpaint or something to show the layout. But what is meant by an inside overbank? It would have to be a pretty low overbank to fit inside the building.
  15. And why would that be such a bad thing. WB doesnt really make enough movies that would really be suitable for a ride, and even for the ones that are suitable they dont use the franchise for something good enough, so why not boost their lineup. Since when were companies totally mutually exclusive? There is such thing as a buisness deal between companines. Who else would make a shrek 3D attraction here anyway? Dreamworld? Dont make me laugh.
  16. Personally, I would like the waterpark to be at the thunderbolt site, but there would be nothing stopping a roller coaster going through the waterpark: have a look at these situations: http://www.rcdb.com/ig158.htm?picture=9 http://www.rcdb.com/ig92.htm?picture=2 http://www.rcdb.com/ig11.htm?picture=11 http://www.rcdb.com/ig158.htm?picture=12 http://www.rcdb.com/ig158.htm?picture=8 So really you could still have a coaster at the thunderbolt site as well as at blue lagoon. Though if there was a coaster with a waterpark, ideally you would want the coaster to have an open layout that goes all the way around the waterpark. As for sound being an issue, Tracks can be filled with sand to dampen any sound. But just a question, would there be space for a coaster over the storage dam for thunder river.
  17. I remember seeing in a shareholders report a while back that MW visitor numbers were slighty down due to lack of new attractions, so i guess they are trying to reverse this. By the way I have seen Ad for it on TV, it looked pretty flashy. Somehow, I think this could do very well for the park against Wiggles world. From what I know, little kids seem to like Shrek better.
  18. When i vist DW at the end of this year I will probably get a 2 day pass just to be safe. If I do happen to get everything done in one day then the second day would just be a bonus.
  19. Tops in Brisbane and Dazzeland in Adelaide spring to mind, but they are both closed now.
  20. Like one of these http://www.bolliger-mabillard.com/products/inverted_en.aspx
  21. But on the topic of City Walk, what does everyone think of the architectural style shown in the concept art? Personally I dont like the retro look that they are going for much. I would have liked it more if it were in more of a modern style, like QV im Melbourne, which is actually a good example to follow since it combines restaurants and shopping with tourist attractions.
  22. Less Height + High Speed = More Airtime.
