Continuing conversation from this reply i've put down my current thoughts on a WB Kids refresh. What WB Kids needs is to be gutted and refreshed. My ideal first plan would reclaim the other half of the old LTRR soundstage from maintenance - maintenance might need to relocate entirely if they've outgrown their own space. Put in a new kids area into the soundstage building with multiple attractions similar to Mermaid lagoon at disneysea, or USJ's Sesame Street Fun World. It doesn't need to be immersive, just an indoor area out of the sun with some rides and activities for the little kids to blow off some energy. The reason this is the first plan is it provides the opportunity to refresh the rest of the land without dropping the kids offering in the park. Once this is open, move to refreshing the rest of the land: Remove speedy taxis. It serves no purpose with the introduction of JDS Find a new home for the parents room that doesn't occupy prime attraction space and demolish Taz' Rest Stop along with the original Marvin facade to make space for new attractions. You could potentially provide parent's room facilities as part of the new indoor stage space if you planned for it. Consider the longevity of both Sam Train and Tweety Cages and perhaps remove them in place of new attractions If this whole corner of the kids area can be cleared, then also consider (controversial I know) removing the giant tree. It's a gorgeous old tree and it's been there for a long time, but it occupies prime park real estate and is a major blocker to expansion If the tree comes out, tweety, sam train, taz and the old marvin area are removed, you're left with a huge plot of land you can close all at once, which allows greenfield planning for a new install, with the added benefit you can actually run power to the character stage and bury the cables rather than flying them through the trees suspended on wooden poles. Update JDS to bring it current to today's park lineup (remove arkham, add WOZ, for example - and does it have DCR?) Turn the JDS arcade (is that still there with the new kids arcade?) into a JDS themed gift shop to bring more opportunity for merchandising into the land instead of the laneway entrance most people walk straight past. Reopen the restaurant with a new offering and re-establish a covered (umbrellas) seating area for parents to chill while the kids run their energy out. Probably a bit much especially for BGH's current attitude toward the park, but that's what i'd love to see. WB Kids currently offers a disjointed experience. There are 'rides for babies' plus road runner. So the slightly older kids that have outgrown the 'baby rides' but haven't graduated to hypercoasters don't have a lot of middle ground, so there's an opportunity with this level of expansion to provide some 'middle of the road' attractions - a lot like what Sea World offers in their nickelodeon area.

Recently Movie World has been doing Throwback Thursday's and Flashback Friday's. It does seem strange that they have only been doing this for the past two weeks after nearly completing construction on the new float shed. I wonder if MW is conducting early market research through using these posts to find which ride has the largest fanbase for if they bring it back... unless I'm overthinking but it is fun to speculate.

Movie World are currently constructing a new building behind HSD and is visible when within Kids WB. I’d imagine this would be for BOH storage or maintenance. Photos by @Ogre

I would suggest something, but to be honest, I don't know what flat rides exist that would go well in that space, that Dreamworld hasn't already got. Would the public accept Movie World installing a frisbee/gyro swing or any other flat rides that another park close by has? I guess it doesn't have to be a flat ride, but it is an area that they do sorely lack in, and is an easy crowd pleaser. They might just replace the attraction with themed seating anyway.

Movie World is getting absolutely review bombed today by a bunch of German visitors - did I miss an invasion or something? I feel like they could have managed their expectations better if they'd done a little research beforehand.

White Christmas 2024 tickets are now on sale. Seems pretty similar to other years.

Towards the end of July this year, following Dreamworld's addition of a second spinning gondola to Steel Taipan and a significant reduction in the upcharge experience price, VRTP adjusted their own one-shot and backwards seating upcharge prices. Both DC Rivals and Leviathan saw their backwards seat pricing reduced — DC Rivals from $30 to $20, and Leviathan from $25 to $10. Following this change, I noticed an increase in the number of people opting for the backwards seat on DC Rivals. However, I didn’t visit Sea World, so I can't say if the same happened there. As of this week, the prices have gone up by $5 again. DC Rivals still seems to be getting good usage at the new $25 price, but Leviathan continues to go out mostly empty. What's going wrong here? While I’d love to see these lower prices stick, it feels like VRTP isn’t doing enough to let people know about the reduced pricing. Without better marketing and promotion of this price reduction, VRTP might see from their ridership data that price isn’t the issue and decide to return to charging higher, and arguably unreasonable prices.

This is a strange inquiry. But I was wondering if anyone had a list of the posters found in Wild West Falls' queue?

With Flash/Dreamland open WOZ and Rivertown to open in the next few months, we soon will have all the lands announced for the parks. The question is, what is next for our parks in the next few years? For 2025 I can unfortunately see it be the first year in some time without any new rides for our parks. Village and Coast both just spent $50m+ each on WOZ/Rivertown/Flash/Dreamland, and they will need to recoup the cost before spending on anything new. Overall the only significant thing will be the Scooby refurb. Based on a 2-3 year gap between new areas for each park, I can see Dreamworld possibly investing in something for 2026, but I have a feeling they wont go for a whole new land this time, either an individual flat ride or coaster. I can see Village go to Sea World for investments this time, they seem to alternate where one park gets the main investment for new rides while advertising the previous investments at the other park. It was MW's turn from 2016-2018 (Doomsday, DCR) Sea World's turn from 2019-2022 (New Atlantis) and now it is MW's turn again with Flash/WoO, so based on that Sea World will probably be next for capex.

Hey team, apparently I live in a vacuum and I just realised this Monday is Kings birthday public holiday. We had that day scheduled in for movie world. Can anyone pass on any thoughts of what public holidays are like when they are outside of school holidays busyness wise. Am I crazy to still consider going ? Or over thinking it ? Thanks

Movie World have upgraded their entire website for the first time in at least 5 years and when browsing it on my phone, it seems like a good upgrade. This is the home page The attraction listing is a lot clearer now They’ve added the WoO renders to the website You can now select the day you are visiting the park and it will tell you what attractions will be closed. This new setup for the maintenance schedule makes it a lot clear of what’s closed today/when you’re visiting, however makes it harder to see an overall view of the years schedule if you don’t know when you are visiting The height requirements are a lot cleaner And they’ve added some fun facts for each attraction

MW socials have put out an announcement with a heap of new "updates" I appreciate the level of transparency from the park, another great step forward.

A few weeks ago Movie World shared on their social media a general ‘park update’ (which was released during the time when they were getting a lot of backlash as only a couple rides were open). Something that I haven’t yet seen discussed is the comment they make at the bottom of the post that states “a new dining experience, in park theming enhancements and experiences and so much more” I’m hoping the new dining experience is that of a ‘themed’ sit down dining experience and not just another quick serve outlet. And it’s good to hear they want to add theming enhancements and experiences, but I hope that includes fixing and refurbishing the park as it currently is because as already highlighted, the parks got a lot of issues.
