  1. We all found Africa beyond underwhelming. The resolution is awful, the soundtrack lacks impact or ‘heart/feels’ and the jump scares are forced. Sorry but it was a meh for me
  2. The restaurant is awesome. HELLO ALL PARKS have a good full service restaurant that offers proper food. The only problem with the restaurant is the sight lines to it are awful, you’d never even know it’s there.
  3. The audio in that room is solid. My nit pick is the transitions between tracks are jarring… should flow better. But that could be playback system limitations, programming or audio composition (hey hire a good TD ) But otherwise audio is good
  4. Don’t get me wrong, I stand by previous criticisms, they were deserved. But this addition is top notch. It’s never going to be 10/10, but it also didn’t cost 500 million dollars so a 9 is more than 👍 for me.
  5. Ok well I was waiting to have a minute to post but I will chime in here. I finally got to visit Rivertown last week… To say I was impressed would be an understatement. Easily best thing, or certainly most complete thing any park has built in a very long time. The entire area is immersive and detailed and just so on point. The detail in the theming and hidden touches just top it all off. Retheme of Vintage cars - amazing! Jungle Rush Coaster - what a perfect choice for the family demographic, and genius use of a relatively small footprint. Fun and thrills for all ages. As for the comments above, so off the mark. Yes I definitely feel the money must have run out in the turntable chamber, and it’s what turns this possible 10 into a 9. But is 10 year old me gonna notice? No As for the interior queue, it’s almost Disney level, there is nothing that anyone visiting a regional park in Australia should be complaining about in here. …and this is from the most critical old bastard that has never been backward about criticizing Dreamworld. Oh and for bonus points, all the staff were smiling!
  6. Its pretty common for specialist equipment (like that involved in attractions and theming) to have to be paid for 100% upfront. Suppliers don’t want to be left holding the bag when the builder you hired goes bust all of a sudden (and that is usually who is buying). For the ride itself you’re likely looking at a portion when ordered, a portion when it arrives onsite and the rest when handed over.
  7. All looks pretty good, very lush! I like all the kinetic energy
  8. Sadly I think you’re right and it’s one of the unfortunate limitations we face in terms of immersive theming in Queensland. There is so much government regulation and insurance company hoop jumping that you’ll even see generic handrails inside a themed railing just to satisfy these requirements. It’s a shame but one we just have to live with.
  9. Nowhere in that video does it show anyone using a side door to skip anything. Nobody is skipping the theming and being spat out in the land after.
  10. I was today years old when I learned the Superman shop is no longer a thing.
  11. I feel like WWW doesn’t get the airtime is deserves. It’s a pretty damn solid little park.
  12. They definitely did some form of refurb and Sally were involved… All of the projectors were replaced and the whole gaming system was upgraded. Not sure of the impact on day to day operations thought, I haven’t ridden it in quite some time and this is just forth hand knowledge.
  13. I think that's the point though now isn't it. I just saw these photos on Facebook and thought to myself "oh well guess the lighting package for Flash is revealed...I'll go see what Parkz thinks" and sure enough exactly what I expected. Instead of a happy response to the fact it has lights, it's some post saying how 'oh it's Movie World clearly this is an awful idea and they are going to make it look terrible.' But no actually, it's for a special occasion and that's cool. You want to see terrible, go look at that bloody awful lighting on the Wave Swinger up the street, truely vomit inducing and that's the permanent scheme they've chosen! The last attraction Village Built was Leviathan and I might be biassed, however worldwide knowledgable people have said it's world class level (not just Village marketing dept). So why would their next thing suddenly assumed to be awful? Because everything is automatically bad because you don't like the CEO right? If Leviathan was lit up Rainbow for a special awareness thing I would think that was awesome. From what I understand the Park are doing all the lighting for Flash themselves in house and if this is the result (along with the sign) then how great! This whole Movie World is Evil and Dreamworld is the land of the gods just has to stop, each has good and bad points when you look at them objectively. Funnily enough the first lights for Wizard of Oz arrived in the country today, I look forward to coming back in a few months and finding out why they are awful too 😛
  14. This is hardly the same as having a stage the people attending an event can't access... It's pretty simple really: Women have women only events to get away from having to deal with men behaving poorly. Men have men only events to get away with behaving poorly.
  15. Yeah what moronic sales staff member ever thought booking this event was REMOTELY a good idea. Just wow
