This seems like a real bonehead move. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad the 'race to the bottom' appears to be at an end. But the thing is with Village raising their price from $99 they've kind of given DW the wriggle room and a spot in the market. DW can now park themselves at that $99 price point and get all the people who will inevitably balk at how expensive Village are now. Happy days, they were flogging passes off significantly cheaper than $99 at different times during the year so if they can hold firm at $99 they'll be doing better in terms of how much they're charging per pass and will sell more come Village renewal time, particuarly given most guests probably haven't had a DW pass for a long time. By raising their price to almost inline with Village's local pass price they can kiss that advantage goodbye in one swift incompetent blow.

The Wicker Man has replaced 'The Flume' and is the first wooden coaster in the UK in 21 years is opening at Alton Towers within the next couple of months. Theming looks awesome, and I'm sure GCI have done a great job on the actual coaster it's self. Although Alton Towers have seemed to hype this up as a crazy, world-class, high impact experience when in reality think it'll actually be just a pretty decent family coaster with some awesome theming.

The stats are pretty average, but that wickerman structure and the special effects make up for it. For me it looks like a decent family coaster but I still think Icon will be the best UK coaster for 2018.

well... to be fair - they completed two rides as well - wipeout and log ride....

I don't even live near the Gold Coast but I'll still probably renew my pass. It's nice to have the luxury of just popping into all the parks when I'm up on a work trip, etc. Even if I only go twice, it's still cheaper than two 'one day passes'. Also I can never have enough valid season passes in my wallet. They make for great conversation starters!

Top of my head, i don't know the precise location where they were located before they were acquired by the History team, but I believe they were purchased off a guy that ran a 'carnie' business (not intended to be derogatory) like Chant's or Wittingslow or something (not them specifically, but companies like that - the name escapes me). As you can see from my post above though, not every carriage was obtained, as they had previously sold them off one by one. Dom, you're absolutely fine. Apart from a few factual inaccuracies in your video (which we could have helped with) and that you hadn't actually asked to use them - Everyone quite liked what you'd produced. Hey guys, Thought you might be interested in this - I stumbled across an article on the laser installation by a company I work with a fair bit. Oracle Laser installed the original system that worked with the fireworks show back when Space Probe first opened. The article has some cool pics of inside the tower and various night time shots, as well as a heap of info on the trials and tribulations of installing a lot of fibre optic cabling into a tall tower. I personally don't want to see a major new thrill ride on the old Thunderbolt site. The Cyclone will partially block the view of it no matter how tall the attraction is, and if it's to be a major drawing card, it should be able to be seen in its full glory. I think the old Thunderbolt site would be a great place for a water park, although there are many other attractions I would prefer Dreamworld to get before a water park.
