  1. The website had september 3 for both attractions since early june. If you check the Leviathan (Sea World) - Wikipedia article you can see that the opening dates listed for both attractions have changed numerous times, and even the wiki says two different opening dates on the same page.

  2. Quick update since I was in Coffs for work. The Zamperla Demolition Derby is completed and appears to now be open. It’s a well presented little ride- if a little odd as a stand-alone attraction. However the new slide structure building seems to have stalled- there does not appear to be much progress to have been made since Gaza’s visit. I am sure the park are still hopeful of a Summer opening - possibly Xmas- and this date is still achievable, however they will need to pull their finger out. Also no sign of any work on the planned Alpine Coaster as of yet , unfortunately.

  3. Looks at Gilroy Gardens.... Actually, does anyone think CF will move rides there?

  4. I think the key here is that this tree provides almost 100% shade all day round - and having been a character photographer and seeing some full-suit characters coming off stage after just 20 minutes of literally sitting down in full sun, you don't want a stage facing generally west that is going to cop full sun for almost the entire operating day. Fun fact - the original looney tunes performance stage, which used to be on the current Road Runner Rollercoaster site faced the same western direction (although it had a roof) - by mid-afternoon, the sun was far enough west that it hit the stage, making it incredibly hot to perform on. There's a really good reason why Disney has moved many of their character appearance\photos to indoor setups in Florida. As for the actual stage - there is zero effort to make this fit. plain red sheeting, dull grey hard wearing outdoor marine carpeting by the looks - this befits a school fete or county carnival stage and not a whimsical kids land in a theme park. Even digitally printed "red velvet curtains" or the looney tunes rings... something generic that suits the land better than 'plain red sheet' Who is old enough to remember what this used to look like?

  6. I went to Movieworld today which is traditionally a bit of a 'no go' zone for our family during the holiday period but thought I would offer my reflections on how the day went. Firstly, Hypercoaster was running 2 trains and dispatches were quick, the operators were ready to go and the loaders grouped people quickly, cars were out to the overflow car park and yet wait times didn't exceed 60 minutes, except Scooby Doo at 75 minutes. In fact, rides like Looney Tunes and Green Lantern were running so quickly the wait times 'peaked' and then went down, which was really wonderful to see. Movieworld has made small changes to manage the crowds, the first 4D Movie Shows at 9:45am so when you walk in you aren't greeted with a crowd of people who are on Main St waiting to be let in, the characters were out in force, every where you looked there was characters and due to the 'not overly hot' weather the characters stayed out a long time, you could easily get photos with all of the characters you wanted to. The food store staff were quick, the rides were all operational (except Tweety and the Carousel) and it was actually one of the best days we've had at Movieworld since the last Hooray for Hollywood Event. The only thing I do miss from that event last year is the 'Hollywood' Stars on Main St as you walk up. I also did look back on Hypercoaster and Arkham is being dissembled, it is approximately 1/4 dismantled and they have started with the lift hill. As you come in from Hypercoaster it looked like they were building a queue area (Perhaps for a Fright Nights maze?)

  7. "BP Coomera Refurbishment 2022" Thread: - "Preparations are underway at BP for the refurb of the petrol pumps. Machinery has started to arrive and they have poured an extra slab to assist with the works." - "This is why plain white concrete has no place at a BP. Stencil it. colour it. Paint it. Do exposed aggregate wash. Or use bitumen... ugh." - "Some snaps of BP today!" Riveting. 😄
