  1. Here's the thing about Vortex's downtime; very little of it is mechanical. The factors that contribute to it being closed are less likely to be a factor at MW. Mechanically, its quite sound. The Demand at SW for a ride like that isn't there. It should be removed and be replaced with a wheel even if you threw it in the bin. Since the hardware is fine though, It should go to MW to replace Doomsday.

  2. Can we at least have it run a halfway decent cycle if it goes to Movie World? Or would it run a horrible cycle "due to guest feedback" lmao. Mechanically it's not a bad ride, and it's proven that it can run a decent cycle (other top spins like Talocan for example show this). Honestly, the Sea World Eye was iconic at the park and looked amazing from the Broadwater and I'd love to see something like this back. Trident... don't even get me started on that lemon. Should have gone with a Funtime model, not some crappy SBF version that runs like a dogs breakfast. I'd love to see the actual ride cycle be a bit faster to provide a bit more of a thrill than what it currently runs. But I guess, go with a cheap manufacturer... you get what you get. SBF is the new Zamperla I guess, they make cheap but decent smaller rides but their bigger rides are a potato. At least Zamperla seems to have picked up their game and really made a name for themselves.

  3. Not gonna lie, I'd love to take that park and have a few of the modern additions added to it such as WWF, Road Runner, Superman and DC Rivals ontop of this. Honestly the park would be amazing if they existed with the older attraction mix. As much as I love Scooby, having Gremlins and Tunes + Batride all together would just be amazing with the added thrill coasters + west (before the shambles it's become now with the new boats etc)

  4. This got me interested in going back and looking at the data. I don't have throughput data, but I do have statuses and wait times. The data I have is not 100% accurate because I'm relying on what their system feeds, but it does provide a good overview for how things are going. Out of the 17 attractions that VRTP update statuses for, since February between 10AM and 5PM, Leviathan is the 6th most unreliable attraction across property. I got this by comparing the rate at which the ride reported itself as being down and closed versus open. A big problem seems to be that it often opens late. Here's a breakdown of the likelihood that it'll be open for each 15 minute interval after opening: By around 11:30 things seem to become pretty stable, but 27% chance of it being open by 10:16 is pretty low. I do agree that Leviathan does the job for Sea World, but it definitely still seems to have some teething issues. Here's some bonus stats for those interested. This is the status breakdown of the main coasters between 11 AM and 4PM February across property: Since February it seems that Village coasters have spent an hour down for every two hours operating. Here is also the average wait by month. Leviathan is easily one of Village's most popular attractions.

  5. $179 for a single express pass on seven rides, ouch. Most thrillseekers won't care about Road Runner and Doomsday is typically down or has no queue, probably cheaper to just buy one-shots for the major rides really.

  6. An S&S Screamin' Swing would have been a better fit for that spot than Vortex. Doomsday should be replaced, I'm not sure Vortex is the right fit for that area. Maybe a Zamperla NebulaZ would work well? In any case the Villains precinct is overdue for some love, all those broken effects are pretty sad.

  7. You're wrong. A Huss Topspin is a crap ride that is uncomfortable and provides no thrills. It doesn't belong at either park. Sea World should have brought back a classic Pirate Ship and added an Intamin Coaster Wheel (which provides both mild and wild gondolas) Movie World should get a Mondial Avalanche which looks crazy but is fairly tame. Something for people that want moderate thrills.

  8. My only issue with fake rock is; is it in such a place that kids can't climb it. This is because I'm old and no where near as fun as I used to be

  9. VQ is an interesting one, because if you offer it free to everyone, does anyone really benifit? Often times VQ was shorter than the standby. On paper it seems like a loss, but really adding to the regular line for a feature clearly not many people were using is lose lose. As much as it feels like a decline, fuck it off and keep pay to cut expensive af seems like a winner to me. I think a generic Village hate has clouded people's judgement here.

  10. From what i've heard, they've pulled back a bit from relying heavily on an existing IP and are instead pushing the funds they'd normally spend on licencing on fleshing out the mazes a bit more. It's a bold strategy Cotton.
