where is the picture taken on storm coaster

There's also a camera as you crash back into the building. -
Nope, hasn't moved since it was docked at the Sheep shearing show, and of course after the removal the hull was moved to the dock. I'd say they are getting slack in cleaning and maintaining it, a bit of a shame really when something that used to be taken care of so well now sits as a weed infested burden. On that note, anyone else noticed how weed infested the railway line is getting since the removal of the steam engines? It is almost like they just don't care.

if you are choosing your favourite theme park by whether the fact the park provides free ride storage instead of the quality of attractions and park atmosphere, then you sir are doing it wrong. Charging for lockers for ride storage yes is wrong, and I can't say I support it, but what I do support is the sped up loading and dispatch process that comes from not having ride storage on the ride platforms, and if I was to get really mad at a park, it would be over more than just about locker charges.

This is the progress from Saturday. The wave looks to have been resealed and has a new undercoat ontop of it. Lets hope this means a decent re-theme. In other news, the abomination of a train they call the "Dreamworld Express" continues to be the worst excuse for a theme park train yet, Tower of Terror queue line now has a the tv running showing the clip from Insane Coaster Wars, the Captain Sturt has left the building, with the Hull now having been removed from the slipway, and I presume sold for scrap metal, and the Candy Shop is once again getting a refurb, and it looks like they found some left over paint from Mick Doohan-ification of River town and decided to slap it onto the Ice Cream shop, and to think we once thought the previous paint schemes on Main Street were bad... Pics attached.

I stand corrected, it opened in 1983.

Dreamworld has always had an Enterprise model of some kind in that spot since opening day. Whether or not the one operating today is the same model as the one which opened with the park is a different question.

Yep, Ausleisure is a reputable Australian Leisure industry website.

Well, looks like we have our next development plot at Dreamworld. I stumbled upon this ad on AusLeisure advertising that the Reef Diver at Dreamworld is up for sale, and will be closing by the end of April. http://www.ausleisure.com.au/images/Ads/2014%20Ads/Dreamworld%20Ride%20Ad%20QP%20102%20Final%20bulletin.pdf So with the Reef Diver gone, and Stingray having departed a while ago now, that does leave a sizable plot of land for a new flat, if they decide to go that direction, but for all we know it may become a glorified seating and garden area like the Stingray area... It used to be a garden bed, it was ripped out so they could have sufficient room for the new ticketing and entry turnstiles. -
I saw it today, but have to go against the grain and say I was severely disappointed. The show lacked any real decent storyline, sure it has the "we are filming a trailer", but after that introduction, it was basically just cars and bikes doing burn outs. There were only 2 stunts which impressed me, which were both jumps near the parking garage, but apart from that, the show was a "see once, don't bother again", and honestly, I actually preferred HSD1.

We'll it may not be repainting, but it seems Alex was right about something being done this year with the captain sturt. This appeared on Facebook. A very sad day. I am honestly surprised though that it got to a point where they decided to pull it apart than rather let it collapse on its own accord.

Dreamworld doesn't deserve all the hate it gets.

Nice review which pretty much sums up my view of the park these days. The new loco actually does have steam/ smoke generators, one for the undercarriage and one for the smoke stack. Last I heard both had broken and there was no rush to repair. -
I find it funny that people actually think Dreamworld managment have major future plans outside of the plan to "make lots of money without spending money"...
-
My bet, and I could be completely wrong, but I wouldn't be surprised if this extended closure for Superman was for atleast a repaint. Whilst not looking horrible *cough* claw *cough* it certainly isn't looking great and could use a new lick of paint. A while back I noticed some test "patches" on a support under the launch, whether it's related or not I guess we will find out.

Stuff like this just encourages them to continue with the bad direction the park is taking at the moment. Maybe in it's infancy and if the park continued with the same original direction, sure, it certainly was the Disneyland of Australia, but today? It's disgusting to even think that the park is being promoted as better than Disneyland...

What will be the next attraction to open at the GC parks?
T-bone replied to Brad2912's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Reef Diver has been "closed until further notice" since november. If Reef Diver is pulled out, it would be nice to see that whole Reef Diver/ Stingray area re-worked and fixed up. This is Dreamworld though, so don't get your hopes up. -
You mean this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d_yA2sdbLOQ Not a movie, but close enough. For the record, it's Tidal Wave at SFMM.

Archie luxury tells it like it is. It's good to see the general public are also not liking the change.

If you have some spare time, I stumbled across this video which reminded me of just how much charm Dreamworld used to have. A great viewing.

I attended last night as well, and for me, yes there were crowds, but having attended a few of these events now, an empty park is not what I expect when entering, and honestly, whilst it was busy, except for the queue for Hillbilly slasher, the queues for every other maze and the show was bearable and acceptable. With the exception of not seeing the Main Street show, I was able to see and experience every attraction once, and that included long periods of sitting and relaxing, and leaving earlier well before park closing.

The way I understand it, it is now operating on weekdays... Has anyone seen it in person yet?
