  1. I disagree, it works well for Disney as a free thing as they have the capacity to support it. Whilst I don't agree with them introducing this system at movie world as it stands (face it, it rewards them for running their attractions at low capacity should they choose to), I agree with them making it an up charge feature otherwise every man and his dog would go for it, making capacity for everyone else even lower.
  2. Sorry to bring up an old topic, but It appears FastTrack has reappeared at Movie World, 1 year after the trial. Edit: Doh, beaten by 4 minutes in another thread.
  3. It was just dramatic music for me.
  4. I had a ride on car 3 today which had the audio and pulsating logo on the front of the train operational. Not sure if all cars had audio, but it was the only car with the operational logo.
  5. See, i actually prefer the maps graphics and art they use on the printed maps. In a way, it represents the feel of the park instead of a boring, flat clean map like the one found at Dreamworld. Talking about outdated maps, has anyone noticed that the Marvin rocket is still featured on the map?
  6. What I don't get is if they want to cut park hours, that is fine, it is there park to do it with afterall, but don't do this stupid "close most of the park except for a few select rides" schedule they have opted for, just adjust the opening hours of the park during off peak and be done with it, heck why not close the park mid week? This ride schedule system they have going is just being dishonest to their customers, and is damaging the park brand, and with the competition down the road doing as well as they are, the last thing you want to be doing is pissing off your customers.
  7. With the vintage cars, the whole area where the attraction is usually prone to flooding, so with all the recent rain I wouldn't be surprised if that was a factor to its downtime.
  8. The constant bickering and arguing on this site is getting on in years...
  9. Hmm, I heard Mack were refurbishing the Eureka mountain mine ride, I have it from a very good source, but don't tell anyone as they said to keep it a secret.... Yeah, sorry. As much as we would and hope said here-say from this lifeguard is true, lets be realistic, until such time as the rumblings get more intense, or some sort of announcement is made, lets read nothing into it. Sorry to burst everyone's bubble.
  10. Enough is enough. I think i speak for everyone here, Can we close his account Joz, Gazza, DjRappa, Richard? This is getting beyond a joke now.
  11. 2 things which came to mind when reading this. A) Dark ride, possibly Looney toons themed, similar to Big Red Car ride at Dreamworld. Something similar to the Autopia, Dw Vintage Cars, or the many others of this type of ride out there in the world, but indoors and themed? I agree with Richard, a refurb on Tijuana Taxis wouldn't be mentioned in the report. I guess time will tell, but there is still hope that this will be decent.
  12. In my view, as long as the blockout dates and restrictions are advertised clearly, and not just hidden in the T&C's, I really don't see a problem. With a tiered structure, it is the customers choice to chose whether they go the blockout option or not, so they really only have themselves to blame. As great as the cheap pass options have been in recent years, they really need to stop it in its current form before it gets too bad.
  13. Umm, I thought the concept of theme parks was to provide enjoyment and entertainment to those visiting? Man, if only you were around in the 1950's to tell Walt Disney this, otherwise Disneyland wouldn't have been a failure...
  14. On an unrelated topic, it is good to see the bus still chugging along.
  15. To be honest, I actually prefer the locker policy. Generally it means faster loading, faster exiting, and it means the stored items are actually safe. That said, I do disagree with the locker charge. This is something Universal Orlando has well thought out with free locker hire for the attractions that need it, with the length of hire depending on the queue length. I wish more parks (including Dreamworld) adopted a policy similar to this.
  16. I I wasn't able to attend this years event, but I have always thought the previous years event was centred around Main Street too much, and of curse when it is centred around Main Street it is going to get very very crowded. I have always thought the show stage should be utilised for a small Winter Wonderland/ North Pole walk through, with perhaps Santa Claus at the end for the obligatory up charge photos. Some sort of show in the Stunt Driver arena is also a decent idea.
  17. Oh really? Tell me something I didn't know.... Ever heard of a thing called sarcasm, or does it not exist on the Internet?
  18. No, you are all wrong. When MACK built Scooby, Dreamworld got MACK to build a proprietary pumping station which services both the River Rapids, Log Ride and the Blue Lagoon slides. I know because I was there in 1997 when this all happened....
  19. Just on google maps, Google Maps now has the pathways at Dreamworld as well as the railway track mapped out. Movie World have hinted at Street View coming to the park, I wonder if the same is coming to Dreamworld?
  20. The only thing app worthy in it is the park map, which is supposed to use the phones GPS to provide your location on the park map. The rest could easily be achieved by a mobile website. It is worth noting that the ticket purchase feature of the app just redirects to their mobile ticket website.
  21. I seriously doubt we will be seeing a permanent installation of the coaster. 1 month is no where near enough time for it to be a permanent model. I also don't see how this makes a mockery of Dreamworlds installation this year? Luna Park Melbourne is getting 2 already seen in Australia carnival rides, Dreamworld are getting a brand new, first in Australia attraction, permanent installation attraction.
  22. I think I speak for everyone here when I say this...
  23. There is more to just putting up the decorations and being done with it. On the surface it may seem like they are all ready to go, but there is a whole lot of behind the scenes stuff that would need to happen, connecting them up, programming and test and adjusting as examples. Also as we saw above, they have to get the television commercials out in order to sell the tickets to the events, in which case you will find the spots will be going to air ASAP, and not a week after the event has started.
  24. The ride is clearly going to be a MACK ride, considering they were so bummed about the rumours not being true about their restoration efforts on the Scenic Railway, they really want to put their mark on the park. I am 100% sure it might be a Mack ride....
