  1. The fence was always inadequate because a pool fence is only designed to keep children up to 5 out.
  2. First thing DW need to do in the show room is replace the turntable bell with another noise that is more fitting to the theme.
  3. Got it. You can trust kids/parents once inside a fenced area but when they're on the outside of a fenced area they can't be trusted. In fact, what DW should do now, is install a gate to their newly fenced areas and place signage out the front asking people not to climb the vehicles because it is safe to assume the people within the fenced envelope and will obey the instructions they received. //s (this is a joke) //s (a ha-ha joke) //s (please don't kill me).
  4. I've been to many Trivia nights, but in more appropriate venues. As I said it reads in the restaurant and that's how I took it. I fine with it being in another room. "increased focus on making Jane's Rivertown Restaurant a dining destination" is what you said. (Not) increased focus on becoming a Trivia Night destination. I don't believe DW's aim here is to become a Trivia Night destination. 🤷‍♀️ I wish you every success.
  5. I go to restaurants every week, so how am I not the target audience?
  6. That's great it's in the function room but you should make it clearer, because I wouldn't eat in a restaurant running a trivia night.
  7. Who's play do you run here? DW - Fence it all off because kids and adults can't be trusted. MW - Trust kids and adults will do the right thing.
  8. For once we agree @DaptoFunlandGuy 💃 Trivia nights are for & pubs & clubs.
  9. Sounds like it always had the capability to do it but for some reason, wasn't set to do it.
  10. The overflow car park is accessed from the front of the park. You can see the gate on your left before ST. There is no access to the road on the other side because where the road ends, the land isn't owned by DW. There is no requirement for the owner to extend the road and the council don't want to approve an island. My guess is DW are working in the road will get extended and the council is working in there isn't a road. (just a guess)
  11. This hasn't aged well. Council has now asked for a stop on the application to give DW time to respond and time for council to review DW's response to the matter of access to Lot 3. The council more or less want more information on how vehicles will/can access Lot 3.
  12. You can apply that same theory to sacking all the WWW staff each year. WWW operated for months this year on a 3 day roster.
  13. I read it. Don't agree with it. Dapto is averaging out the attendance over the year which is 👎 .Dapto is happy to average out DW but not WWW. CEH only made a net profit last year of 2.61m which included the insurance payout for rebuilding the vintage cars which DW never did because DW was already replacing the vintage cars with Murrissippi Motors.
  14. and DW still wouldn't be making a profit. Everybody keeps telling me if you can't make a profit you close it, I don't know why DW is open Mon-Thur.
  15. The other day, I witnessed the JR train being sent with 3 people onboard and the 🚗 had no queue.
  16. @DaptoFunlandGuyIf you went to DW today you would be lucky if there is 300 guest in the park. Should DW close today? DW'S latest marketing angle is you can ride 7 rides in an hour. If guest can fit in 7 rides in an hour, the park isn't making any money.
  17. Cold. 🤣 Maybe you should go when WWW starts trading in winter again. The water is toasty warm at WWW in winter. If it rains all day, Theme park numbers also drop by a poopload so I don't know what your point is.
  18. Isn't it the responsibility of the people running it, to make it appealing so people want to come? @Narra All this chat came from me starting a topic asking, if CE had given up on WWW.
  19. I have no grievance with the GC water parks reducing hours over winter. WWW haven't reduced hours; WWW has locked the gate. Theme Parks and water parks are different beast and you don’t operate them the same. A theme park, you want a person to stay in the park as long as you can hold onto them because there is a ton of situations to get your fingers into their wallets & purses, to get every cent out of the guest. An example of a park holding onto guest: When Universal Hollywood is open during the quieter periods, the first showing of WaterWorld doesn’t happen to after lunch because Universal know people will stay in the park to see the show. Some of those people waiting will get hungry and buy lunch. An example of a park not holding onto a guest I turned up at DW the other day at opening, just to see the new SV production. I entered the park, watched the show, and left straight away. DW didn’t make 1 cent out of me. Now if I had turned up and the new experience did not happen for a few hours, 1. I would have purchased a coffee. 2. If you have a child with you, the kid would have started asking for food. DW spend a lot of time, effort and money getting people into the park in the first place, and when the guest are inside, DW should capitalise on keeping the guest in the park, spending money and not shutting early. One sure way of not making money is not being open. A water park has limited opportunities to get extra money out of guest. WWW, one gift shop & and one food eatery. (arcade but Dapto said no) A water park you’re not making extra money keeping the guest in the park because little Jenny can only eat so many hot chips. The water park makes its money by people entering the front gate. You let the guest in, you feed the guest & you kick the guest out. I've been on a water slide while it's snowing, so if you can't keep a slide open in winter in Queensland, you're doing it wrong.
  20. WnW was open during winter before WWW opened. WnW was open when WWW, once upon a time, opened for winter. WnW is now currently open while WWW shuts shop. I really don't think WnW care what WWW do. If WWW can't compete it's because they have driven their own prices up with 30,000 lifeguards on the wave pool. //s
  21. It might save money but it doesn't make money. What did I concede? I've never said it doesn't save you money. Sorry didn't see this. WnW is WWW main (probably only) competitor.
  22. If you believe only 5 guest turn up in winter, I would say you have never been in winter. WWW is a better park for winter over WnW. 1. The water heating is better. 2. The queues have been wrapped to reduce wind. 3. The park footprint is smaller. A water park isn't a theme park. But if you want to talk about how I think DW's trading hours is the lazy way to save money, I'm up for it.
