  1. Some theme parks do have multi story car parks. obviously, where the land is available, it's far cheaper to have a big sprawling ground-level lot though. the only multi deck parking structure i know of is Disney in california... and they have several.
  2. PERFECT!!!! Make him a little vest in chinese fashion, and a hat - similar to CNY Mickey and you're set!
  3. I like the lighting touch - MW has a giant green billboard which really smacks you in the face as you drive down the highway. I have been houseboating on the broadwater at night and see the ToT lights, so I like them having something that will draw attention at night. The LED RGB strips are simple and effective - I just hope they maintain them. It's nice that they've added this kind of thing, and it will probably go really well if they keep up periodical night time trading.
  4. First point - i'd like to pose another thread de-railing question. I've always considered that the plural of lego was lego. It always irked me when people would say 'legos' - and it seems like i'm not the only one thinking this way: link As for your question, I am very much looking forward to having a one-stop lego shop on my doorstep - my little guy turns 1 next week, and I'm counting the days until I can spend hours playing with his lego sets. Sadly Duplo isn't suitable until age 2, and most lego sets, not until age 5 or 6. Very glad to report an extensive Disney collection exists in the lego universe too. Ummm dude... Corkscrew was a Sea World attraction - i think you mean Thunderbolt. Also you forgot TRRR....
  5. they get some mileage from it, don't they? pretty sure i've seen them get rolled out in the past for fright nights too...
  6. I'm thoroughly in agreeance with that. Many movies feature dancing dragons (see Rush Hour franchise for examples) so it would be a relatively easy tie in - drummers, pyro etc. I would have liked to have seen the theming updated for the relevant 'year' - in this case Rooster, instead of the generic lanterns and the "stone" lions - but its not currently a separate price for that so its nice that they do anything at all. Bit of a shame though that they don't do anything for Australia Day...
  7. Don't disabled facilities these days have discharge drains and separate flushes for bag discharge? I've seen some where there is a showerhead on the wall with a hose so you can spray wherever you need in case your aim was bad...?
  8. No they don't - especially since Dreamworld up the road now has Shrek's Faire Faire Away, inside the Dreamworks Experience - so neither of those ideas are going to work... We've discussed it before, but eveything has to be a coaster, because thats what increases attendance. Not a Disk'O Coaster, or a spaceshot, or a twin hammer... coasters bring them in. Of course, a park with nothing but coasters would be pretty boring (and totally awesome!!!) but thats just the way the public view things (and us, mostly us)... so most suggestions in this thread will probably be a coaster. that's life.
  9. I had thought billboard too, but i think Magician is on the money. I wouldn't be surprised if we saw some vinyl billboard style signage there for a while until the vines get established though.
  10. I'll put money on it being @themagician's photo. ...aaaaand i was right.
  11. Could it perhaps have some sort of link to rocky hollow the stop motion animated TV show? A sunny woodland glade sounds like it would have fitted Rocky Hollow perfectly. I realise this series came about after the ride\area in the park did - but perhaps theres some link between the two?
  12. There's actually a surprisingly large market for this. I don't think they'll have to beg people to take it away, or give it away. they likely already know where it's going - unless of course they plan to use it on site.
  13. Now now Slick - there is more than one destination of choice for valentines day.... they also have locations in Toowoomba and Kirra Beach for total-southeast-valentines coverage! https://www.pizzahut.com.au/dine-in-stores (and gympie if you're really going the extra mile!)
  14. You've missed the point of this offering though - it's not a $350 meal for two. It's an experience, with food and drink included - kind of like the Star Tour provides lunch and snacks. What you're getting for $350 is what i think would be a fairly intimate gathering of couples experiencing Tiger Island - and the tigers themselves - as few would have ever seen it. As I said in my initial reply to this event, i know two people who don't drink, one of whom probably can't eat half the food on the menu, who (potentially) would still seriously consider going to this regardless. For the experience, i'd probably pay it if i could afford the price tag, I just wish there was more on the menu that i could eat (my wife on the other hand would probably devour it)
  15. It is a very good value offering. Absolutely. I just found the lack of choice for entree a little strange as not offering a choice immediately excludes some of your potential market.
  16. is that where the pin is... "large holes" like this?
  17. take a few camel bac pouches, line your jacket with them, and fill them with the soft drink throughout the night to get your money's worth *screw that - do the same thing, but with alcohol. Continue the shit-facing well into the following day!
  18. how big \ how far apart are the holes? are we talking a fenceline, or foundations?
  19. yes it seems a bit of a muddled throw together. the entree is quite polarising too for people with seafood allergies, and many of the antipasto elements also have certain allergens - seems weird for them not to offer a choice of entree, just as they do the main. Alcohol seems a weird selection too. And (although I know two people who would do this for the experience regardless of alcohol) you can bet few people would sit on the soft stuff whilst the beverage package is open beer and wine for the duration - i know a lot of people would certainly get their money's worth from the bev.
  20. in a statistical analysis and taking into account the subjective nature of opinion from one person - those two figures are close enough to call them a draw. it's not sportsball after all. If I were to use the same scoring system: Road runner rollercoaster Escape from Madagascar Theming 7/10 6/10 Speed 5/10 5/10 Height 4/10 5/10 Layout 5/10 6/10 (extra point for suspended) Train 6/10 8/10 Capacity 8/10 8/10 Re-ride 7/10 9/10 As far as theming - i agree RRRC is better, but i don't consider it to be as wonderfully drastically different as others have said. Both have middle-of-the-road speeds, and score accordingly - they aren't meant to be mindblowingly fast, and they do the job they are supposed to do wonderfully. Height - likewise to skeet's score EFM just tips the scale Although both have the same layout, EFM takes the extra point for being suspended. Consider the boomerang vs. the inverted boomerang (and yes, i realise there is a layout difference with the inverted having a crossover) - although both are technically the same layout (reverse lift, drop, station, boomerang, loop, lift, reverse order repeat) the inverted boomerang looks, rides, feels different, simply from riding on the other side of the track. I scored the train as such because i find the EFM seat and harness perfectly comfortable. I frequently bash the shit out of my knees on RRRC, and find it to be a bit of a squeeze to ride two adults side by side. I have minimal views on capacity - both rides take a similar amount of time to ride, load and unload. I've seen DW allow the next group to enter the ride area before the previous group has exited the gates, which IMO is a much more efficient load method. RRRC suffers the interminable operations procedures that MW has across the board. My memory is fuzzy on this point, but i feel like EFM also has gates per row, rather than single gate for the entire train, which I feel is also a plus (but acknowlege i could be wrong her e- couldn't find a picture of it). Re-ride - I have had the opportunity (at the dreamworks launch nite for passholders) to ride, and re-ride EFM for almost a solid hour, and it was thoroughly enjoyable (the operator was also a contributing factor to the enjoyment, as was riding at night). I've rarely if ever chosen to ride RRRC, except when hosting family with smaller kids who want to go on it. this is of course completely one sided, but it is opinion, and it's my opinion, so i consider EFM rates higher here. That leaves me with RRRC-42 and EFM-47. considering the point differences between them though, they're all fairly closely and evenly matched, and it will always come down to personal preference on these few issues where the factor is based on opinion.
