  1. Sure thing... Pretty much every single El Loco has a customised drop, with the angle increased on almost every version built to try to keep beating the steepest drop record... until Takabisha anyway. Name Park Drop angle Crazy Bird Happy Valley, Tianjin 120° El Loco Adventuredome 90° Green Lantern Coaster Warner Bros. Movie World 120.5° Mumbo Jumbo Flamingo Land 112° Steel Hawg Indiana Beach 111° Timber Drop Fraispertuis City 113° Twist Coaster Robin Yomiuriland 93°
  2. I'm pretty sure when they would have signed the contracts etc etc, it probably would have been worlds steepest drop, as they probably weren't aware of the one in ?Japan? that beat it - they both were under construction at pretty much the same time. You can't get halfway through construction and go 'wait - the other park is going to beat us! Tear it down, make it steeper!'
  3. Skeet... you know better than to have a joke with Push.
  4. build it anyway and screw the residents by forcing guests and visitors to park in side streets. that'll fuckem.
  5. I'm afraid that particular person is already taken, having attended their Wedding, I can confirm they are off the market.
  6. Not really interesting at all - they do this frequently, and then, after the gloss has worn off, they move them to other SF parks or sell them... one such example was the giant inverted boomerangs they opened in 3 parks in the 2001 season under the name Deja Vu. At least one of them relocated to another SF park as Goliath - I think the other two went to unrelated parks.
  7. Maybe they could get Mack to help with the refurbishment?
  8. I think you'll find AOS and VRS are big blockers to that suggestion. #NeverGoingToHappen
  9. IIRC, this topic has come up before - like a couple of years ago. I'm surprised its still happening.
  10. The problem for Sea World is it is currently restricted by height limits on the spit. Nothing taller than Storm \ Sea Viper can be built, except by special permission from the GCCC (such as the Eye) There actually is a Parkz member who owns two of the aliens.
  11. I haven't been in a few years, so things might have changed, but last time I was there, there was one or two banks of lockers (i think they were all the way at the end) that did not require a wristband and could be paid in cash. I always used those lockers so that our group could simply share the pin\colour combination... is this still the case? I don't even know why i'm bothering to reply to this, but seriously Push - you get unlimited entry to three parks for ~$100 a year. You want the parks to build more attractions you like, but at $33 a year per park (less now that PC is included too) how much do you think they profit from the free admission? Your self-entitled pompous bullshit is disturbing. Each park used to cost more than $100 a year for annual membership. IIRC when I first came to Brisbane they were about $299 each. Why do you think your cut-price, anyone can (and probably does) membership entitles you to free use? Not everyone needs a locker. Some people visit the parks with a non-riding friend who can mind your stuff. If it's that bad, go into the park with a pair of shorts that has a velcro pocket, a dry-pouch for your membership card (that goes into the pocket) and a towel and thongs. leave the thongs and towel near the entrance to the ride you're going on (few people would steal someone's thongs or towel) and then you solve both the locker problem, and the burning path problem. I suppose next you'll expect VIP seating at shows, and a free lunch.
  12. its been covered, but in short you can't operate it within a certain distance from any people, other than the operator themselves, and it can't fly over areas of traffic etc. I believe also, in the case of the parks, that as each of them has a helipad, the HLZ prevents drone flight within a certain distance also. Short answer is don't be dumb enough to fly a drone over a theme park. if you do, please let me know when so that I can: laugh at you, and; arrange for CASA to view it too.
  13. Oh god. The Stupid. It Hurts. In addition to this, it is interesting the Energex response that is being had. For those who don't want to go looking, Energex raised concerns about the carpark because they have existing infrastructure both overhead and below ground. They've asked questions over what arrangements VRS has made to accommodate their lines, and offered options for VRS to pay for things like relocation, and survey\study of certain impacts. VRS basically responded with "your shit isn't in the easement where it's supposed to be, so it's your fucking problem Jack." I must admit, I lol'd.
  14. I am very glad to see a portion of the ticket price will be donated. I'm also very glad to see the show change to be an acknowledgement of those men and horses who made the greatest sacrifice. Like the shows before it, i'm sure the team at AOS will do this show honour and justice, and I cannot wait to see it.
  15. I agree Sea World's focus is more family oriented, but one must remember that families have older children too - and those younger ones get older as well. The park needs to offer something to cater to a more adult level demographic or it risks being relegated to the 'we've done that once, we don't need to do it again' pile... kind of like Paradise Country was, and they're working hard to change that. I think one more big coaster, something of a level to replace Sea Viper. Then they need to bring in a few more mid-thrill flats, and a few family friendly but still thrilling attractions.
  16. I've stayed at a hotel in Singapore which was literally beside a major arterial highway. Noisy AF sitting out on the balcony, but surprisingly, good quality glass window\doors were all that was needed to mute the sound. Given the setback from the highway, I doubt noise is going to be a major factor.
  17. Also possible that since the union had a fair bit of drum bashing during the whole situation that they've decided to use it as leverage to have other changes made that they've been asking for for a while.
  18. Thanks for the photo updates @themagician - with so much else on, its easy to forget this little minor refresh happening at WnW. If the other parks didn't have so much happening right now we'd all be glued to this thread!
  19. It's not a top 10 list. As Brad said - chronological order - the list starts at the top with the first, this one goes to the bottom as the most recent. DUH
  20. Doesn't an alpha release come before a beta?
  21. LOL. I haven't played any sim based games (except on themagical.nl ) since I moved to QLD, pushing a decade ago. TBH I got so sick of reading all the gushing reviews of PC months ago. Its the one thread I open, and then immediately close to clear it off my 'unread' feed. I no longer have any interest (or time) in this sort of software, although i'd probably happily load up RCT2 for some nostalgic back-play if I had an afternoon free.
  22. I disagree - I think the MRT video, audio and the 'next train' slides in between are a nice touch to the theme.
  23. ^This question has been asked numerous times. There is quite a space of land separating the two rides. If both rides were reliant on the same water source, it would impact the operation of one when the other was down for maintenance. Log ride's track has a huge lake near the load zone which provides all the water they need. they are not reliant or co-dependent. Take a look at any google satellite map of the area to see what i mean.
  24. The old adage - you've got to spend money to make money. As has been said before, a new attraction will be needed to make people go 'i want to ride that'. If the park doesn't build anything new, and just removes the old, this incident will be the freshest thing in people's minds - and dissuade them from visiting. Ardent has enough money to do something, regardless of a few refunds or a drop in ticket sales. And if they don't, they have plenty of assets to leverage finance out of. If they don't, they start a downward spiral that will be impossible to pull out of.
