  1. 9 News is reporting on it too - they're hinting at something new and exciting. https://www.facebook.com/9NewsPerth/?ref=br_rs
  2. Looks like that Indiana Jones coaster from Disneyland - they just need to add a temple and some vines and they'll be set.
  3. Simulator rides sound interesting, as long as they're not an additional cost on top of the price of entry. It would be cool if they were part of a dark ride or flying theatre. If it's anything like Zero Latency or any of the VR theme park attractions, that too would be great. It will be interesting to see how much money they're willing to throw at it.
  4. I think the alcohol could be included, as it's sold at the Kahuna Cafe and that's where they get the food from. The $125 tab is probably more worth it on a day when the park is open at night and you can effectively have two meals and snacks and drinks all day. I had a drink on Fright Nights, which didn't get the 2O% discount, but I think that was because the bar was from an outside provider.
  5. I think it would be good if it helps to bring a bit of life around that area after the parks close. Like, if you were staying on an on site hotel, it could give you something to do in the evening or if you were visiting MW, you could go to TG after the park closes before heading over to OS in the evening.
  6. Or Kalamunda Water Park or just throw them away and make a fancy bar/restaurant. If the cafe was open it would have done a roaring trade, today.
  7. There's some fresh graffiti on top of the waterslides now, too. The work looks more like demolition than construction. It's interesting that the slides seem to be included too - they're not just removing the ropes course.
  8. Yeah, there looks to be some demolition or work in progress.
  9. That's an interesting, but depressing read. I really do hope they have some plan going forward. It does seem embarrassing if they put the old mine ride back into operation. You wouldn't think any kind of sprucing would get it back up to scratch. Surely, it's time to bite the bullet and purchase some family friendly e-ticket attractions.
  10. I noticed they were that price on Fright Nights - which makes sense with the longer hours, but if that's every weekend, that's just getting greedy.
  11. The weather wasn't the best, but there were still lots of folks visiting AW for Fright Nights. Tonnes of scare actors out this year. Plenty of people swimming despite the cold and the rain. Goliath looked awesome at night and everyone seemed to be having a great time.
  12. The one AW did for Today Tonight. Buggy Buddys also did one for the preview.
  13. So the other POVs don't count because they're not the whole ride? That drone footage is amazing - great find @Tim Dasco.
  14. Totally avoids Fox Studios Backlot! 😝 Yeah, I actually visited Old Sydney Town in its first year of operation. Love watching those old promo videos.
  15. Twelve and a half hours? Is that including a bus or train journey as well? Singapore is 5 hours from Perth, which is not much longer than it takes to get to the GC, for us. Compared to how long it used to take to get to LA or Orlando - it's local. I'd be pleasantly surprised if Legoland did open a park in Australia.
  16. Why build a Universal Studios here when there is one a short plane trip away? Same could be said for Legoland. I think we're forgetting that there are a few capital cities in Australia that could set up a decent sized park and, if managed well, could be successful. I think the Melbourne renaissance is a fine example.
  17. Fair enough. I certainly don't follow the rule of a wet ride followed by a dry one. Times are certainly tough at the moment and I'd rather wait a little longer for something like Abyss than something that makes you feel sick.
  18. Different state governments, over the years, have added incentives to companies to develop a park in their state. It might not necessarily be cash. It could be infrastructure or land assistance. Right now, most economies are pretty stuffed. Unfortunately, it's probably not something most people would want.
  19. So there will be no attraction code-named MI-4 or they'll never add a new ride? Either way, that's a dark premonition.
  20. Cockburn ARC, which is ten minutes down the road, is also worth checking out. Popped in to AW, today, to try out my new mirrorless camera. The park wasn't empty, with the after school crowd coming in to get some relief from the 30 degree heat. Ironically, it was beautiful weather when I got there and it was lightning on my way home.
  21. I once saw a cascade effect on the tumbler. It started up the top and trickled its way down from cage to cage.
  22. Apparently someone has done an Andrew H at the Great Escape and posted it on You Tube. The place is looking run down and the kids are doing some pretty dangerous things. They also have a drone.
  23. Well a cabana on Fright Nights seemed like a good idea. Apparently, the $125 difference is the f&b tab you get. That's a challenge.
