  1. Oh god! Somebody help me! I'm terrified of the red christmas light lava!
  2. Sounds like we'll never be getting fire then. Good to see they'll be open like this when they should be.
  3. The problem with having a slot car ride like that is the scale of the ride is what makes it good. I don't think a smaller version of Radiator Springs Racers would work very well at all. The ride will be over before it even begins. Also, the construction of these seems pretty exclusive. Especially if you want the same Disney standard. Dynamic Structures (the manufacturers who brought you X2 and interestingly the Track switch upgrade on ET Adventure at Universal Studios Florida) have only built two of their slot-car rides. Test Track and Radiator Springs, which cost $US100M and $US200M respectively. Of course ours wouldn't have all the bells and whistles, but you're looking at a hefty price tag.
  4. Is that just testing footage with a light load? Surely it can run faster than that.
  5. If you're going to replace the whole track, surely you might as well put in a new coaster.
  6. I've never really found the lockers to be a problem. When I go with others (who take bags and such) I always remind them to bring gold coins for the lockers. It isn't too hard to put your stuff in a locker, go on the ride and then take it out of the locker when you're done. A few dollars poorer, you don't really care because you had fun riding the best roller coaster in the southern hemisphere. As for myself, whenever I go out (usually to football games) I never take a bag and just keep my wallet in a zip-up pocket on the inside of my jacket. This is unbelievably practical for the parks.
  7. Most people do one park per day. I don't think it would be worth it to do a cross park system for the few people (I know there are a few on here) who like to go park hopping. The wristband locker idea is great though and they should push it more. Add more lockers and give out more wristbands.
  8. That would make sense. I guess they have no way of policing it (without making life difficult for customers with passwords/numbers and such) so they wouldn't worry. Disregard last message guys!
  9. Quoting from here: https://themeparks.com.au/box-office/vip-pass/vip-pass.aspx "Please Note: Your tickets will be emailed to you and will need to be presented at the front gate either printed or on a mobile device. A VIP Pass is not transferable once issued or redeemable for cash and cannot be used with any other offer." No is the answer. This is why they take your photo with the passes.
  10. It's all fun and games until you get hit in the eye with a raindrop at 100km/h
  11. Because you get into a boat, someone who sounds suspiciously like Kevin Rudd tells you to keep your arms inside the boat at all times meaning you are stuck and eventually it ends up in a mine with bandits and a town with Indians and dynamite and stuff.
  12. Problem is that it is pretty much the same story as Wild West falls. Do I care about this problem? Just build it haha, discuss story later.
  13. Can't really compare those two. Storm was a replacement for Bermuda which was a family style ride. Superman is a proper thrilling roller coaster.
  14. One of the things that made that ride for me was seeing my friends face when he was told to sit next to one of the 'out of order' seats. It kinda turned into a good theming accessory haha. I remember a 15-20 minute wait on a Saturday in the Summer holidays at about lunch. Perhaps this was a freak occurance, but I'd be surprised if it hit 45 minutes on an off peak weekday.
  15. We should start a charity to get all of the effects working at Movie World.
  16. Too bad there aren't any turbines... Do torpedos count?
  17. You'll have time for everything, and loads of time to spare. I went by myself once, with the sole purpose to do a rides marathon. I managed to ride everything in the first 2 hours, and it wasn't exactly a quiet day. You'll have no trouble, make sure to check out Hollywood Stunt Driver 2 and tell us what you think.
  18. I liked the cheese and bacon burger from GCC. The Lattice chips are also incredible.
  19. Do the lattice fries still there? They are good.
  20. I've never had a problem getting everything done in a day at Movie World. Even on a Saturday during school holidays you'll be able to get all the big things done. On a Friday you'll be finished by lunch and have enough time for another round or two.
  21. One thing I remember from the cafe is how crowded it gets. There were only a few cash registers available, I always went to Wild West to get my lunch. It made sense to have an eating area there though. Right in the middle of the park, where people are coming back to the main strip from looney tunes, wild west and Scooby Doo.
  22. I was supposed to go with a group on Sunday 2nd, but they cancelled due to the rain. I went anyway and had a good time by myself, it is a water park after all. I was suffering from a theme park drought, and the nice gardens/paths gave me that satisfaction that WnW hasn't yet been able to offer. How I'm imagining that spider to be like when done is exciting. I can't wait to see the new developments. Will the lazy river have entrances and exits all around the circuit like train stations? I've had dreams about such things and it would be incredible if they had this.
  23. One time, I went into the queue in the (relative) dry, but as soon as we turned that last corner to the launch I noticed it was raining. Let's just say it wasn't too pleasant, but it didn't spoil the ride that bad. It was only really a problem during the launch. I shut my eyes just as we flew outside and all was well. GL was a good laugh in the wet, your butt gets soaked when you are hung upside down. Wild West Falls was such a nice place to be in the rain. I wanted to stop and stay there for a while. That beautiful town with a grey sky and light drizzle, something I dream of on weekdays.
