So I was looking through the state records and found these photos on Archives of Adventure World at the State Library of Western Australia and thought I would share them all. It amazing how much the park has changed over the last 35 years. I have found different albums from different years including construction in decent quality pictures, so I thought I would share: (Pictures sourced from http://encore.slwa.wa.gov.au/iii/encore/search/C__SAdventure World__Orightresult__U__X0?lang=eng&suite=def) 30 JUL 1982 (Construction images of the park) 1983: Opening year, not the lack of shade in the opening years. 1984: 1987: This is now the animal section of the park. This is currently were Black Widow currently is. The main castle Before they painted the boat purple. Alpine Mountain, looking way different then it does today. The main Water Mountain slides Currently where Abyss, Rampage and Goliath sit. The main pool with small trees. The old train which now sits as theming in the Gold Rush section. Paddle Boats Along with this video I found show casing some old rides they had including a Cha Cha and a spider.

Eureka Mountain replacement dark ride
Tim Dasco replied to Jay Jay The Jet Plane's topic in Theme Park Discussion
In the article above, its says they plan to build a new dark ride and a significant expansion to WWW. -
Good marketing and VTP mentioned In the same sentence. 😂

It was also good to see 4 trains running in off peak on Abyss and all shops open until closing. Along with the minor changes made to develop the customer experience. Also Goliath has on ride photos and all the Dragons Kingdom Characters where out today for photos. It's great to see that you can still buy food after 5pm.

So at the park today with @ABYSS and noticed a few things: Sprinklers have been added to the Rampage queue which was something they were asked to do last week. Inferno tower is back up and should be opening in the coming days. Goliath merchandise Will be available next season. More crow statues have been added to Goliath area.

I thought I would make a thread to talk about the recently announced AW Nights events.

I think we have enough Pendulem rides now in Australia. Goliath, Claw, SX360 and Voodoo. (3 being built in the last 2 years) then if you include traveling ones, the Beast, XXXL, Nitro, Freak Out, Hard Rock, Extreme Thriller, Rebel and I am sure there are a few more. However they are still great rides!

Abyss is not bad, it's a little rough. Of course it's not going to be super smooth. It's a Gerslaur, not a B&M of course it won't be bone smooth.

Having another water attraction is not a bad thing. Kraken still draws big queues in the peak of summer. I went on Australia Day and its queues where still over an hour.

Adventure World - what actually is it?
Tim Dasco replied to DaptoFunlandGuy's topic in Theme Park Discussion
However by that definition wouldn't Dreamworld then be classed as an amusement park in its current state. -
The main thing they can do to make abyss smother is to get trains with lap bars. However for a coaster only in its 5 year of operations it is not worth getting new trains yet. It's rough, but nowhere near rough as some other coasters in Australia. On the note of fixing up Abyss, I have noticed all the boards that tell the story of Abyss have been removed. Cool lights have been added in the station to help see better also.

Every second attraction for 15 years has been a dry ride. The parks has a mix of both.
-
I would love a water coaster, that would be a great addition but it depends what the budget for MI4 is. They tend to be a the high end of the price range. I think a lazy river would be great around the castle area and front of the park. But whether at this stage if it's worth the operating cost. (Mainly in on peak) However they could even go the route of another proslide cloverleaf slide next to Kraken.

So I found this article that confirms MI4 and the MI attractions continuing every 2 years. Fun Park rides on 40 Million investment: by https://www.businessnews.com.au/article/Fun-park-rides-on-40m-investment?destination=node/384958 Key points: $40 Million spent on the park over the last 7 years. They plan on continuing its major capital spends every two years and is considering a number of options for its next one. They have seen a massive growth in attendance. They plan on keep improving. So what do people think MI4 will be? I still think a lazy river or another Proslide.

So the Sky Lift, Barnacle and Rampage have all reopened at AW. Leaving just Inferno still closed.

Technically this is all off topic as this topic is about MW improvements November 2017. Which has now gone. -
Goliath - Adventure World’s new Intamin Gyro Swing
Tim Dasco replied to Tim Dasco's topic in Theme Park Discussion
So AW sadly have a few rides closed. Hopfully they come back online soon. -
Looks like Inferno is back to itself, apparently the tower top is back on the ground and its listed as closed for un scheduled maintenance on their website. Hopefully it comes back soon and can last one more year till MI4 comes.

Or Perth? 3 hours behind here.
-
The only coaster I have done is Abyss.
-
I thought considering this has been semi announced we can make it its own thread. I am personally hoping for something along the lines of the proposed stage 2 for WWW with maybe some different slides on the tower. Will be intresting to see what they end up building.
