  1. That was not my point in any way shape or form. DW said they are spending 55 million in the lead up to the games. This money would have already been spent. TI, LS, rumoured WWW slide tower and stuff already planed. Which will still happen because deposits have been paid and contracts signed well in advanced. New rides that were planed a few years ago could be getting built by manufactures now. Like AW's MI3 (flat ride) is being built overseas now and it won't open till September next year. A replacement for TRRR or the log flume will not happen for at least 3 years. You can't just build a new ride straight after. You need to shop around and then get designed done, contracts signed and then the manufactures need to start building the ride. Plus replacing TRRR or that area would be the last thing on their mind. They are focusing on reopening the WHOLE park and regaining the public's confidence. Plus they are still investigating the TRRR accident. How bad would it look if DW announce a new major ride now. They would need to wait anyway until they have regained all the publics trust and when they feel enough time has passed. Hence why I believe we are not hearing anything from MW regarding the roller coaster announcement. My original point was that dreamworld are spending big bucks. Just not in what some of us want. (A big massive roller coaster) They are spending the money on making massive refurbishments which are greatly improving the park and I believe the Gold rush area was going to be the next area to be refurbished anyway.
  2. Remember DW said they were spending 55 million in the lead up to the Commonwealth games. They have spent 7 million on TI, ?? on Lego store. So there could be a big attraction coming soon. DW do spend money, it just might not be in the area you want. IE referbishments
  3. I am being very wishful here but if they get a WWF type ride with a big mountain on it and a new roller coaster into the Eureka Mountin building. That would be awesome. Maybe I am still sleeping and dreaming!
  4. This would explain why the train is not operating as it runs through the area. DW have put the list up which says 23 rides will be operating and 8 shows. https://www.dreamworld.com.au/park-info/whats-open
  5. They need to add something there with the Commonwealth games around the corner or this will be a bad look for them.
  6. I think this might have something to do with TRRR incident. Considering the Log Flume, TRRR and VR are all in-house design. So maybe since the TRRR accident the insurance have gone through the roof. (The Log Flume has been removed from DW's map now)
  7. Personally I think they should do the Flash theme for the next major coaster and make it a launched coaster. Personally I think the Flash theme suits a launch coaster more than a lift hill.
  8. I bet DW would love MW to get a Lego themed Hyper coaster!
  9. Abyss I believe took 3 years. The park has to come up with the plan and then talk to the manufacture and get the manufactures to produce plans. Once a manufacture has made a plan that the park likes they will start making the ride (where they have a free slot. Companies like RMC have a 4 year waiting list) Then the manufacture builds the ride and ships it over. Then the ride needs to be built itself and then tested.
  10. @ClassifiedLlama that would be cool but we won't see anything like this in the Gold rush area for at least 3 year minimum. Rides like that take a couple of years from planning stage to delivery. Most parks have a 5 year plan. So I believe a new attraction would come to Gold Rush in around 3 years. Unless a Eureka replacement was already in the works.
  11. Cirque Extreme has arrived at AW. (Photo credit to AW's Facebook page)
  12. I think that the roller coaster will have its lift hill going along that area. (JL to GL) I believe the massive footer in the carpark will be an angled support that will help hold the weight of the top of lift hill where the ride will make a turn and the drop will be facing AOS.
  13. Just adding @AlexB there are 3 funnels and two are inclosed.
  14. @Aw hype Total project cost. For 15 million they could get another Abyss.
  15. Ok take 2 you also forgot the B&M, RMC, refurbished by mack, walk through, dark ride, monorail, Giga, Starta, world class, steel extreme coaster with massive fountains and loads of plants themed to a wacky worm eating a churros while talking to the Dip'N'dots guy. (Did I forget anything?)
  16. @SunshineTom But what about the thousands of families who said they will still support the park and ride the rides as they understand that it was a freak accident and that they believe it was not dreamworld's fault (despite the media scaring techniques) Read DW's facebook page to see these comments their are loads of them with families saying they wills till let their kids go on a ride. People die in car crashes does that mean parents will be worried that their kids will die in a car?

  18. DW have been on a high until the TRRR accident happened. However I believe they can recover from it as there are tones of people showing support and saying they will come back to the park on DW's Facebook page.
  19. But now you are allowed to film from your phone on the kraken if you buy their dry-dock bag. I think this is a very smart decision. People can now be on their phones why they wait in line and then simply put it in the bag and take it down the water slide. Which in theory might mean people stop complaining about wait times.
  20. I think it might stop people from using their mobile phones to film Abyss. Their are loads of videos on youtube of footage from phones. So maybe this will mean people will do this to get their own POV. Plus it mean people will upload their own POV's to youtube which might give free advertising.
  21. WWW2.0 (who works at the park) said that an announcement regarding a new slide tower was going to be made. However since TRRR it must have been postponed.
  22. Just saw this from AW's website. You can now officially take Go-Pro's on most of the rides at the park including Kraken and Abyss. It just says it must be securely mounted using a Go-Pro chest harness. It also says on a few water slides including Kraken you can bring you mobile phone on if you have a water proof dry-dock bag which AW now sells. (Maybe so guest can entertain themselves while waiting in line so they stop complaining about wait times. https://adventureworld.net.au/rides-and-attractions/rides/which-ride-suits-you
