  1. Fair enough, but isn't that exactly what Millennium Force does (without the loop of course)? I think sometimes going the way that has been successful many times before is the best way.
  2. How exactly are you meant to be able to get stuff from the top of the pick a brick wall?
  3. Come back to me with another hypercoaster that gives the same balance of inversions and airtime that Flash has and I might believe you here.
  4. Over 50% expensive in summer from what I've read, flights seem to be pretty cheap in winter from what I've seen Two questions Is Ferrari World any good if we were to stop over in Abu Dhabi? If you were to pick, PortAventura or Disney Paris?
  5. Maintenance schedules are often pretty similar to previous years, perhaps in future try a different time of year if you can?
  6. From my perspective, Claw's capacity is better than DD's, simply because staff can load/unload it much quicker than they did when I rode DD.
  7. Currently leaning towards winter... PortAventura could possibly be on the cards again, which I'm very happy about.
  8. If we were looking at DD's theming (not including the area), the ride is on the same theming level as the Claw for me - some theming on the structure, and a queue that follows a theme but doesn't go into a lot of detail. Wipeout on the other hand is by far the most extravagant themed of the four - a well-themed ride structure, as well as pretty detailed queue theming. If however we're counting the DD precinct as part of the ride, then it's pretty obvious which ride has the best theming.
  9. Damn you made it harder by adding wipeout there Skeet Doomsday is a great ride, but it isn't on the same level as the other three (unless we're talking theming here - but it's not as thrilling or forceful as the other rides). Surfrider is also a great ride, with some good forces. Its capacity is where it is let down unfortunately, and since it doesn't invert like the other two it's not going to be the winner. I was settled on voting for Claw on this one until Skeet added Wipeout... boy that makes it a lot harder. Both are top-quality flat rides. Claw has intense forces, airtime, and is a lot of fun. Wipeout has great theming, and awesome hang-time. Both are high-capacity. I'm probably going to give this to the Claw, because I prefer the great forces and airtime over Wipeout's slow inversions and hang-time.
  10. I'd like to see an extra question in the poll Does Jamberoo need to create a poll every time he creates a new topic? [x] No [x] No
  11. A multilevel carpark would save a lot of space, but I'd always prefer the funds to be put towards a new attraction - MW has a fair bit of room they can still play with and at this point there's no need to add an extra carpark level.
  12. "a bit smoother" How can a brand-new flat ride that was perfectly smooth already become any more smoother?
  13. Thanks for the advice everyone. No-one else I'm travelling with really wants to go to Spain, which is why PortAventura is a bit hard to get to - I've heard nothing but top notch reviews on Shambhala though and the park is definitely in the top three that I want to visit (along with Europa and Phantasialand). Looking at some of the parks' winter seasons, Disney's is obviously fine to visit, and Phantasialand open almost all their rides during the winter by the looks of things which is nice (even Chiapas seems to stay open during the season). Europa keeps a few of their rides shut which is a pain - from what I've read Blue Fire only opens when the weather/temperature is permitting, and Silver Star and all their water rides remain shut all winter. I would definitely prefer to visit sometime other than winter or summer, but unfortunately University semesters forbid that. I've had people told me that winter is too cold and you run the risk of getting snowed into places, but I've also heard that Summer is nearly impossible to get around in because of traffic on all the roads.
  14. I guess with the recent Dreamworld incident, he was thinking that the boats are exactly the same and would flip
  15. Yeah it's a matter of weather vs price/crowds Also parks that I've thought about are: - Europa Park - Phantasialand - Heide Park (possibly a little out of the way, although we haven't decided exactly where we'd want to go) - Disney (not sure if we're going to be going into Paris since I've done it before and have no intentions to go back) - Parc Asterix (see above) - Holiday Park (would really only be to ride GeForce if I went) - Movie Park Germany (I guess it's not up there with some of the big parks like Europa, but it seems to have some decent rides) - Port Aventura (a fair bit out of the way - same reason why I haven't put any of the other big Spanish parks) - Mirabilandia (Italy isn't on the cards at the moment, although this is still at the back of my mind in case we do decide to go there) - Gardaland (as above) - Energylandia (a very low chance of this one happening, but putting it down anyways especially since their hyper opens up before I go)
  16. So there's a small chance that I might get to go to Europe over the next two years, and wanted to get advice on what the best parks are to go to over there. Will probably be around France & Germany for the most part. Not sure if it'll be in Summer or Winter yet - so are there any parks that have a good winter season (ie most of the rides open during December)? Chances are I'll only be able to get to one or two - so I would like to know your opinions on which are the 'must-see' parks. Thanks in advance.
  17. In the long-term future, the area could be used for a water ride if the park was thinking of adding one, otherwise there's the option of filling it in - but I would much prefer this to stay as a body of water (water ride in the middle or not), especially if they tidied it up a bit and allowed people to get closer (by building some sort of precinct around it)
  18. Possibly nothing, or maybe a bit of a freshen up to make it look like a pond (or even a lake!) instead of a swamp
  19. I assume you mean the slamming of the brakes... and not the 'bad things'... otherwise it would be wrong
  20. I'm going to say Escape from Madagascar. I haven't done either of these for a while, but I do remember when I was a kid Madagascar (or Runaway Reptar as it was back then) was by far my favourite due to the sensation you get when hanging below the track as opposed to sitting on top of it.
  21. ToT was having problems when I went the day after it reopened
  22. I guess it depends on your build, I can understand why scooby could be seen as uncomfortable, although I would say most would agree that MDMC is worse.
  23. More like milk crates but yeah May not be the best ride at the park, but it's very nice to see another ride open
