Agreed @djrappa and I think what makes it even worse is it makes the entrance look really enclosed and uninviting. It isn’t until you get the front of the queue area that you can see into the park. They really should just get rid of this idea and change the entrance to how it used to be, and if they really want this type of crap, put it inside the park and let people do it if they want to.

There is a lot currently happening at the park, so here is one big update for everyone. ENTRANCE CHANGES Firsly, the biggest change. And if you thought the entry process at SW couldn’t get any worse, think again. They have changed it (probably make it more efficient, but I can’t see it being in the busy periods). The big walls, lightijt framework and path you have to take isn’t good. Once you’ve had your photo taken, you go left for tickets and right if you have a pass. I was there not long after opening and they weren’t using the left entry point as they have done for many years. And the exit process also forces you have o see your photos. l SEA JELLIES Check out my full update here: In summary, I think it’s looking great RAY REEF The attraction has partly removed, with the northern entrance open. The southern area of the exhibit is currently having the flooring currently repainted VIKINGS REVENGE No changes with the ride itself, but the rock fountain has been turned back on and makes the area look better CREATURES OF THE DEEP Tne whole area has now reopened, but I definitely think some of the creature need a repaint or fixing. Hardly any of them were moving or making noise, and some were very faded. LAND RECLAMATION Still plenty of machinery on site doing their thing OTHER WORKS This area next to Seal Harbour has been fenced off with construction on the pump house underway Jet Rescue is closed for maintenance It seems that Storm has some new theming And these toilets are under refurbishment PARK MAP I haven’t looked at the new park map since the changes, and I’m glad to see they haven’t done the angle style and instead went from straight above. Did notice they have included a path, zoning the land, so this may indicate towards three new attractions or more at some point.

Today’s update The exterior is now complete, and I think is looking really good (even if it isn’t the original design). Good to see they continued the blue paint across, and love the detail they made in the garden bed -

When I showed the voucher they were confused and the lady did have to call her supervisor but said it was only a discount

Just got my One Pass and took advantage of the current bonuses included. A couple of pointers/thoughts/ideas Great to see that the passes are actually a plastic card once again, and it’s great you can now upload your own photo. But they don’t include the expiry date. The passes now go for 12 months from activation date, so really it would be smart to include the expiry date on it. Currently they are offering a bonus free Hunger Buster meal, $50 animal voucher and a couple other things. I must say that if you were to purchase a Hunger Buster, it is actually good value for the options and cost. But.... service today was awful. We’ve mentioned it countless times already, and it isn’t every staff member because there are some great ones, but today... yeah nah not good VRTP Got a burger from Gotham (Which I haven’t done for a few years) and the size and taste of the meal has definitly dropped big time. It wasn’t bad, but from what it used to be, ain’t that good. But the lady who served me didn’t even have the basic service skills. No greeting, just stood and staired at me waiting for me to speak. Ordered, then showed her my voucher and then said “you are actually supposed to show this to me before you order because now I have to cancel it and redo it” Sorry, I didn’t know this, but that kind of service in a theme park isn’t needed. Then went to the Deli, got a muffin, and the cooked parts were nice, but the parts not cooked not so much. And quite a lot of it wasn’t. Finally, the voucher says Hunger Buster Deal with Sipper and Refills. I assumed this meant I got it free, but I wasn’t wrong. Not complaining here because on the website it does explain it, but I feel the voucher you get should state discounted. With the voucher you get it for $8 instead of $12, and free refills for the day. In summary, I feel communication for certain aspects of deals and the park need to be improved, and quite a few of the staff I saw and dealt with today (some I haven’t explained above) need to gain basic customer service skills. I work in retail, I get the environment, circumstances and challenges, but am always capable of providing the basics. Come on VRTP step it up a little.

This satellite image was taken in May, and you can see what the area now looks like with the station and mine ride completely removed. You can also see that parts of the ride have been filled in. -

I haven’t been to either, but from what I’ve seen, head and know, if you have the time and extra money, definitely go to Orlando. More parks for both universal and Disney.
