  1. They also posted photos showing that the track for the coaster has also arrived. Theme park social network did post with that photo above that it was for the coaster.
  2. I got the Discovery Pass back in March purely because I wanted the pass for a year from purchase date and access to Fright Night and White Christmas. It was $140 and gives me most of the discounts that the Unlimited Membership gives. I do like the idea of the Unlimited Membership and hopefully with the increase of pricing we may begin to see some more attractions come into place. It does say $10 upgrade for a limited time, so it may increase to say $30 for example.
  3. Well the Buy 3 Get 1 Free offer is still available on the site, despite it finishing yesterday. They may be having a couple of issues.
  4. I think it can be said that it is no longer happening, or at least not any time soon. To our knowledge was originally proposed for the land that was being reclaimed, but since then the COTD has been installed and now NL will be taking some of that area. I would have said that it would have been animals in enclosures. But there could have been a chance that they were just going to be animatronic animals. I did think it was a good idea at first, but it wasn't very fitting to the park. It would have been a huge crowd puller, as it would have been the only park in south-east Queensland to have gorillas. Gorillas typically need a large enclosure, so they can have large open spaces to run and for climbing equipment to be installed. The attraction would need thick glass walls or a large gap between the enclosure and guests. I'd imagine that it would take up a large amount of area of the reclaimed land. I do feel like what they are using the land for now is good and fits well to the park.
  5. Just come back from SW this morning. The attraction is very popular and the introduction of the discovery trail is also doing really good and it's seems like kids love it. I went and saw Affinity as well and they had a 'ranger' promoting the discovery trail and what it's all about (side note: first time I saw the new show and thought it was really good). I did notice that some of th water around he whales is already getting quite dirty: Maybe they should install some small fountains as they did around jet rescue to keep it cleaner.
  6. This news was from a few months ago and I'm fairly sure we have another topic which has spoken about this. Thank you for your contribution to parkz, but just be sure to check that there isn't another forum about the topic. If you are unsure, maybe just post it in a related topic (for the buzzsaws seats and harnesses, I would post that in the 2015 at dreamworld)
  7. ^Agree with all of that. Particularly the AA courtyard area. Walking through it yesterday, I forget how large of space that is, and how unused it is. The themeing was that space is good, it's a shame they haven't put a flat ride in the area where the original queue line was for Lethal Weapon. They could then reopen the alley way, theme it to the rest of the AA area and it would allow for much better flow through the park. I know it's currently used for staff access and the storage of some food carts, etc. but even if they reopened it for the public, I'm sure there would be room for storage. You can partially see where the park store those food carts. The image also gives you an idea of the size of the AA courtyard: Another idea is that, the sound stage in the western area that only gets used got FN now, if they did install a ride on that site, or inside the building, couldn't a maze be put in the AA courtyard, they would just have to remove the old queue line. The old china town alley way could be used as a good scare zone, in my opinion. They would have to be install some sort of sheltering, in case it rained. But I feel like it would be much better use of spaces, particularly if MW want more space for rides. Just an idea.
  8. They are DWs FB page and Thrillz FB page. I posted some of these on the 2015 at Dreamworld thread.
  9. ^that is a good point. There would be requirements on how many emergency exit doors are required for a certain amount of people/area. I suppose if they did double the amount of queue line, they would probably need to have almost double the amount of exit doors.
  10. MW could double the capacity of people inside the castle queue area. They could halve the width of each queue line tow (if that makes sense). That could stop the queue from going over the road.
  11. Went to MW this morning and as mentioned all affects are working on all rides. The only thing that was a little off was the timing on JL. And at some points the video would play to late so you didn't get a chance to shoot the screen. Some of the effects I didn't even know where there, such as the barking dog. The park was pretty busy today. These were the queue times at 12. SE: 1hr AA: 2hr BW: 1hr JL: 1.5hr SDSC: 1.5hr WWF: 15 min
  12. I worked for Woolworths when they have had these promotions and I would say they definitely work. When they ran, most days were busy, especially weekends. And there was a noticeable difference between the amount of customers there were between when the promotion did and didn't run. You have no idea of what kids and parents would do to try and get more of these cards. I've had bribes to try and get more off me. And they make a lot of money through all of the extra stuff that can be bought to go with the promotion.
  13. This photo was posted by DW on FB a while ago:
  14. SW have added this map/trail activity for COTD. It seems like you can get a map at the first station and then follow the map to the other creatures and get it stamped. Seems like a good way to link the area as well as providing some extra fun for kids (photos: theme park social network) EDIT: found this on SW's website: Designed especially for our youngest guests, the Discovery Trail will take you on an exciting journey through the deepest, darkest parts of the ocean. Simply get your fun and educational Trail Guide from the front gate or Trail HQ, complete the Trail Stops and receive a free pack of Discovery Cards! There are 18 to collect, and once you collect them all you can organise them in your very own Discovery Folio! Receive a free pack of cards for every $20 or more that you spend at any retail or food & beverage outlet through the park. Keep an eye out for the ultra rare Megalodon card to complete your set!
  15. After watching that video, I did notice there were a couple of minor differences in comparison to when I saw the show at the end of May. Overall the show was an improvement from what it was. But still not as good as the first HWSD. I think the limitation to the show is the fact that they are making a movie trailer. There is a story line to the show, but there is a lot of starting and stopping as they do the next scene, and the stunts that are done are similar throughout the show. I'm not saying that the drivers aren't talented, because they defiently are, but i feel there should be some more variation. I think the next show that they do should move away from the film making story line.
  16. Yeah, that guy those does the Wipeout is great. He always does commentary throughout the ride and does different character voices. He is also happy and energetic
  17. ^DW posted on there FB yesterday that it was national fairy day and there were some activities on for kids. I think it was just did that.
  18. I went to SW yesterday, and had a quick walk through the area. It was quite windy and the sign that hangs off the ship had been blown over into the ship. If a staff member isn't going to pull it back down every time it gets blown up, I think they should add some support or weight to it, to stop it from happening. It isn't a major thing, but just something I noticed. While I'm talking about the park, I can't exactly remember if someone said that the propeller for the storm wasn't spinning any more. But today it was, with the water spray going when riders go underneath it.
  19. I never got to ride Thrillseeker, but I do remember it being at the park, and remember it being on the now Ray reef site. Was the ride good? Was it popular? And why was it removed from the park?
  20. If you'd said Dr Who at MW, then that would be more fitting. But at SW, no. With the park already having two forms of coasters and a kids coaster opening soon, I can't really see SW building a new one. I think the variety in sea creatures is really good as well. I defiently don't think a dark ride would be a good idea, as the building wouldn't look right in the space. I know the park had one before and there are height limitations, but maybe a new Sea World Eye would be an idea. When it originally opened I thought it was a great addition and the views it provided were great. I think the site needs some flats rides. Maybe the area behind COTD where there is just gravel, could feature some flat rides, themed to this area.
  21. A rollercoaster themed around a mythical sea creature (any sea creature really) would be good. I know land is an issue for the park, but a coaster like Manta would be great, in my opinion.
