King Juliens Theatre will receive a major upgrade and will have the more generic name of ‘The Dreamworld Theatre’, which means they can have multiple different shows daily, plus they will have can have more meet and greets here too. The Dreamworks characters will be no more, but they will have the koalas and ABC characters too. Whats also exciting is by the end of 2024 DW will almost have as many coasters as MW. DW will have (6 coasters) - Steel Taipan - Gold Coaster - MDMC - Kenny‘a Forest Flyer (currently Escape from Madagascar) - Big Red Boat - Jungle Rush While MW will have (7 coasters) - Rivals - Superman - Green Lantern - Scooby - Road Runner - The 2 Wizard of Oz coasters (yes, 3 tracks but 2 attractions)

My sketch is very crude, but essentially the train enters onto the yellow track, brakes hold it in place (when the train is on this track it’s either facing forwards or backwards depending on how the ride left the station), then the rotates on the top point axis and ends in the blue position. And this happens on an incline. The brakes then release and the train continues on its journey. So it isn’t a flip track and the track isn’t changing.

I’m guessing the red is where the cars will be and blue is where the coaster is mainly is (but I’m thinking the coasters foorprint will overlap the cars and potentially take over the TOT building too)

They stated the $50 million is the minimum. Jungle Rush is $35 million and the Dreamland project is $15 million. That doesn’t include the new vintage cars, Dreamworld Flyer, splash zone and other works. They also announced 2000 solar panels will be installed. So it could be at least $60 million. But all of this I see as money very well spent. Everything announced is exactly what the park needs, it’s a great direction to head them in, refresh so much of the park. If you look at the park map, these works are for the majority of the parks footprint. And allows for another expansion where the log ride was later in the decade. I also like that we’ll get the Dreamworld Flyer in the first half of next year and Dreamland will be by Christmas next year. I’d say ABC kids world will remain untouched for most of next year while they work on the other kids area. And then later in the year ABC will close so they can begin the works on the new Rivertown.

My understanding is it will be one queue and you won’t know what way you’ll be boarding. The experience of the coaster means that everyone riding will go forwards and backwards at one point.

It’s this. Every train Will experience going forwards or backwards. But you’ll either board the ride one way and return to the station facing the other. There will also be dedicated ‘show moments’ where the train will slow down. My understanding is it’s a similar concept to Hadgrids magical creature coaster at Universal Orlando. Not the same budget or scale and more whole family focused. The coaster track is by Vekoma and cost less than Steel Taipan, but the entire attraction will cost $35 million due to the immersive theming and show scenes

We could potentially see the TOT station building and tunnel under the train line be removed too during this whole construction phase. The reintroduction of Rivertown will also make the experience and journey on the DW Express much more interesting, rather than just looking at the back of old buildings

The coaster will go up an inclined track forward/backward, the train will be held in place, the track will rotate about 20 degrees on its axis and then the train will be released and will travel in the opposite direction. Which means the train will arrive back into the station facing the opposite way. The coaster was marketed as travelling in both directions during the presentation and you don’t know which way you will be leaving the station. My understanding is the entire ABC kids area will be demolished, potentially even the restaurant and will be used for the new coaster and vintage cars.

New Kids Ride at Movie World - April 2023

Even when they announced it, it was just a secondary statement within the wizard of Oz announcement. They should’ve announced it before or after WoO and created some hype about it. They’ll probably announce more in the new year once their events are over -

The New Atlantis - Construction Updates

Maybe they’re starting out at $30 because it’s new and more people are willing to pay the higher price. If the pride were to drop, I’d say that won’t be until after the summer holidays. But based off my understanding of VRTP strategy, the price won’t be going down.
