Apart from ToT II and Buzsaw that seem to do this also. -
Arkham Asylum Facade work
Naazon replied to Gold Coast Amusement Force's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Money being no issue, what would you put in that area? -
Didn't someone from Dreamworld confirm ToT II capped out at like 120km or something on this forum?
-
The only reasoning I can think of for this is if people a building from a ride and wonder what it is they can look at the map? But at the same time... no. Just no.
-
Unlikely. The winter school holidays fall right in the middle. Although not peak holiday season, holidays are holidays and Arkham is a drawcard, even after all these years.
-
Random closures are a part of Theme Park life and from memory a VRTP video said morning maintenance checks were around an hour to complete per ride? (could be wrong). If trades started at 6 or so they would have a fair chunk of time and of the larger works they could then work overnight. Not saying its ideal, but its possible.
-
In a pinch, show effects can be installed inside normal hours too if they delay the ride opening until 11 or 12 each day. Save on overtime rates.
-
I assumed a repainting, maybe for both, and a train rebuild shouldn't take 3 months. Maybe they are getting new trains and have extended the time for possible delays and testing? Other ideas is smoothing the track a touch. It felt a bit rough last time I was on it.

Arkham Asylum is going to be down for quite a while, and Green lantern is 6ish weeks whereas all other coasters are 3-4?
-
They also need to sort out the paths in the hot sun, and the black painted deck near River Rapid slides.
-
And as heavily discussed on this forum, the reliability of those rides is questionable at the moment. Edit: Also thanks @joz appreciate the discussion.

The problem DW face, apart from funding, is if they put in an amazing ride, they don't have enough open thrill rides to soak up crowds so not only do they need a great ride, it needs to have a really high capacity since it will take the major load of guests. If they build up over time, with Decent but not game changing rides they can re-establish themselves with a real "Big 9" not made of up moderate thrills but true high thrills and then get a new huge ticket ride like Rivals. my opinion anyway.

Just curious, what would peoples opinion be on a boomerang coaster? They are somewhat cheap, have enough gimmicks to market easily and small footprint. Negatives is its not a full circuit which would be a nice to have for dreamworld, and depending on how its run, could have limited capacity. But thats also a null point with DW since they have limited attendance also.

They can also be used the opposite way to blow air creating circulation, useful when drying wet floors and newly painted walls. Unfortunately my office has had to use them a few time due to crappy pipes.

Jet Rescue just had its 10th birthday, could have something to do with the additional time?
-
Is Jet Rescue being closed for 6 weeks normal?

Dreamworld / WWW Update
Naazon replied to Gold Coast Amusement Force's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Bold is probably the best option. less clutter and no need to look elsewhere for it, but its obvious you should take note. -
This gives me the feel like its an SBS Vice piece or from some show on ABC2. Only feedback is that you need a semi transparent box around peoples names and titles as it can sometimes be a little tough to read fully / at a glance. I needed to put effort in reading their names and titles when I wanted to put more effort into hearing what the conversation was.

Village theme parks extended trading hours
Naazon replied to Gold Coast Amusement Force's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Ah apologies, I was talking GC parks, and obviously making a very broad statement about US/UK parks. -

Possibly, but our parks don't close in the winter either. -
