Dreamworld 5 year plan - a challenge

I'm over hearing people say "remove MDMC" as well. It's never going to happen - just don't ride it if u don't like it!! -

Certainly not this financial year, as the ASX report had no mention in the forecasts. Possibly something opening early/mid 2014 -
Dreamworld 5 year plan - a challenge

Wow Tell us what u really feel/think! U have some good suggestions though, I for one prefer TOT2 to TOT1 & think the tunnel is great. Sure it's an eye saw, but I go to parks for attractions/rides not the landscaping. Getting rid of the paddle steamer will not/did not cost them visitation numbers, so why spend money to replace it? Fairy castle has been there for what, a decade? Longer? If its still there it must be a viable revenue stream. With all these suggestions to remove things, people need to think why would they remove them if making money from them? How is that a viable commercial decision? Refurb yes, refresh yes, but remove? If its not making money or increasing visitation, DW no doubt would replace it, but if its been operating for years - it's clearly working. On passes, most of us agree an increase in price point is required, but it would almost been to be an agreed commercial/industry decision between Ardent & WVTP to change the current offerings 'significantly'. Neither park is going to want to risk a loss of market share in the current economic climate. -
Why bother?? Demolish the mountain & start again if that is the location they end up considering for a new ride. Anyone under 18 probably wouldn't even remember blue lagoon - so the nostalgia value would be lost on most

Wow...sure thing... Are you 12?? Most of your ideas are ridiculous, there no point putting forward ideas if there is 100% no chance they can possibly occur. They WILL NOT remove MDMC They WILL NOT remove Shockwave They may be not be amazing rides but attract decent crowds every day. They CANNOT buy back the land they sold to Westfield/GCCC - have u seen the Coomera Town Centre Master Plan? It's incorporates a 10km radius around the station - the land is all accounted for - just not a time frame - 2020 maybe? You can't simple 'build a bigger mountain & put a bigger mine ride in. That would involve massive inconvenience to existing rides & infrastructure. Closing multiple rides during construction is not worth the Hassle. Build a steal coaster Build a woodie Sure, we'd all like that - I don't think we'll ever see a Woodie at DW - fingers crossed for a decent steal coaster one day. -
It mentions nowhere in the release of the location of the ride. Is it simply an assumption that it is going the LTRR building? Or do u have inside info?

What will replace Looney Tunes River Ride?
Brad2912 replied to WED99's topic in Theme Park Discussion
In the unrealistic persons mind who thinks our parks have infinitely deep pockets capable of opening numerous new attractions & rides each year -
Chill dude. If 5-10 people jumping the queue on Tower of Terror winds u up that much maybe just avoid public spaces??
-
Was certainly sarcastic and pointing to the fact the most successful theme park in the world has a fast pass system that doesn't stop countless millions of people having amazing visits each year. I have never purchased a fast pass at an Gold Coast theme park, and even in my 4 park visits this month in peak season, I have never felt I needed the pass to get the most out of the day, or that I missed out by not getting it If people want to pay to avoid queues, good on them. I don't hold a grudge against them, nor the park for allowing them to do so.
-
Correct - WnW bought a franchise just like anyone else with the right amount of funds can.
-
Whilst I haven't done it myself, my best mate did the universal VIP. Definitely said it was worth the money & experience, but wouldn't do if again so the day is so structured you don't have any time for re-rides if you want them, and you miss out on some of the general experience of just walking the park yourself. I'd recommend u just go with the front of line pass if they still have it available

Arkham Asylum: Shock Therapy (Lethal Weapon Retheme)
Brad2912 replied to ads086's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Yep - last night Joker talking on the incline, a few things about shock therapy & just as u get to the top 'I can see my house from here' and that's it. Audio is only on the lift hill -
Well it was sold out. The park certainly was flat out generally. It took me 45mins to get out of the Carpark and that was leaving 30mins after official closure. Only health & safety issues for me were no air con in the SE queue, it was like a sauna but fortunately only a short wait
-
Great night & considering the sell out, pleasantly surprised at the wait times Green Lantern - 10mins (though broke down at 8:15 and didnt re-open.) mark me down for now 10 rides with no sign of audio on any Superman - almost died of shock - 10-15mins wait. See how easy it is with 2 trains!! God knows why they were only using 1 last holidays & fright nights! Arkham - 15-20mins - could really use a 2nd train, but certainly have got better at load/unload times. Audio working great Spaceshot - 10mins Considering also had time to watch the pre-lights show, the lighting & the parade, it was a very productive 2.5hrs! Very impressed!

DW said it was opening Saturday so is say its just open but no doubt there'd still be a few kinks to iron out
-
Copied directly from DW email to Annual pass holders (and others possibly): Kung Fu Panda: Land of Awesomeness , opens this weekend with new rides and attractions including our NEW Big 8 Thrill Ride, Pandamonium, the NEW Skadoosh Bumper Cars and the Kung Fu Academy. Click here for your chance to be one of the first to check out Pandamonium.

Opens Saturday according to the email I just got from DW

I live at Pimpama and have my ears close to the walls with a lot of the developers in the area, and in planning and approvals with GCCC. I've never heard any mention of a water park at all. The only thing I think is you may be confused with the approved in principle application for a Wave Pool to be constructed in the Maddison Estate which is just beginning development on the Western side of the highway. The wave pool will serve as a learn-to-surf destination, as well as being able to provide world class waves for pro surfers. The project is partially backed & funded by Kelly Slaters' development company, which I believe currently has a few wave pools in the USA. Oh, and Robina Town Centre does not have a water play/water park area either. It has a lake with 4 inflatable balls in it that kids can go in and roll around (without getting wet)

Plenty of threads on this previously They will have 1 in 12 mths - Wet N Wild Sydney Would be awesome to see another theme park in Sydney ala Wonderland but in reality is vey unlikely. Maybe if Wet N Wild is a astronomical success...

There's a chance it may be in a soft opening by then... That's the first day of the school holidays in Qld so park will be packed! I've heard they want it fully operational by a week out from Xmas
-
Audio on buzzsaw?? That's novel and never heard it mentioned before - even by DW Air Race constructed already?? The containers only arrived last week!
