  1. Quite possibly? if this Coaster doesn't categorically unequivocally eclipse SE as the best Coaster in the country, it's an epic fail.
  2. Don't get the continual "there at plenty of Joker rides at the park" comment. there are ZERO Joker themed rides. AA is not any more Joker Themed than it is Harley Quinn or Bane themed, in that they make an appearance in the queue line. It's themed to the collective group of bad guys
  3. There are plenty of people that already know and are keeping quiet so doubt a social media teaser would change that. People generally respect the parks wishes, either through contractual obligation or by a mutual respect
  4. You missed an important option in your odds @Lightning Unlisted/all other themes - I'd place that at $2
  5. Work is usually permitted between 6am-6pm. they are usually tools down by 4 from what I've seen though
  6. If fuse was lit and running in front of the boat, would it therefore not explode before the boat got to the top?
  7. I believe they are freshly made. Just don't try and get into the park that way, as I found out today. Pulled my pass out to try and enter into the retail store and was told "you have to enter through the Lego store". Went to the Lego store, showed pass again and was told "we're not scanning people in through here today, go back outside to guest services to enter the park"
  8. It's pretty standard theme park pricing. Didn't try a burger today, but can't speak highly enough of the caramel popcorn cake
  9. @pushbutton check back a few posts, the pancake menu has been posted. Yes they have regular pancakes with maple syrup. And surprised you've never heard of a Canadian pancake stack (with bacon). Pretty much available anywhere with decent breakfast options and very popular. So just popped in for a look. I like it. A lot of empty space as others have mentioned, but I'm all for it. Also here is some snaps of the non-pancake/brunch menu..
  10. Never experienced a non-inverting loop so can't comment on their pros/cons vs regularly loops. i will say I am surprised we are not getting any inversions (or so it likely seems) on this Coaster. Would have been nice to at least have one imo, given the current #1 Coaster in the park also has no inversions. Still wont dampen my excitement for the ride though by any means, would just have been a nice extra element to have
  11. Kedron & Canon have been in the cross hairs for a few years. Kedron likely to stay open under an independent operator, but Canon will be levelled
  12. Or if 128 people pop in for a coffee and pancakes (before 11??!!??) then they would fit a total 0% of park guests in there
  13. So why can I only buy Pancakes between 9-11? what if I want afternoon pancakes?
  14. Here are a few belated pics from Thurs afternoon. Took heaps, but trying not to upload any that have been covered in the prior couple of photo posts by others..
  15. Ribbon and stage are likely for a venue-hire after hours. neither was there on Sunday
  16. Where in this vast land is the new kid going to be located?
  17. Me too, I was going to post here that I'd never seen the carpark so empty on an operational day. At least now I know why
  18. Won't post the whole article as it's yet another Dreamworld disaster rehash article (enough Already). But an interesting comment from the family/spokeswoman for the Dorset Family Ms Brookfield said her friend’s fierce wish was for Dreamworld to be rebranded, to be a landmark and an attraction, without rides. “Kim has told me she would love the theme park to become a zoo, it would be a fitting tribute to those lost,” she said. Whilst I totally understand grief, it has clearly clouded her judgment of the financial implications of the suggestion. In an early quote she said she knew livelihoods were at stake so didn't want the park to shut down. Those 2 ideas don't go hand in hand. Retro-fitting a theme park into a zoo, apart from basically being impossible, would require almost a complete levelling of the site and re-development, which would cost hundreds of millions of dollars
  19. A 'not natural swing feel' I dunno what that means... The Claws' swing seems fairly natural to me
  20. Ardent Leisure mulling Gold Coast’s Dreamworld site boost to turn it into Disneyland Ryan Keen, Gold Coast Bulletin an hour ago OWNERS of icon Gold Coast theme park Dreamworld want to super-size the site with accommodation and entertainment to turn it into Australia’s Disneyland. Dreamworld parent company Ardent Leisure sent shockwaves through the city yesterday with a statement to the stock exchange appearing to suggest Dreamworld’s footprint was under threat. But Ardent CEO Deborah Thomas later clarified to the Gold Coast Bulletin any redevelopment would be on unused land and enhance Dreamworld, not detract from it. “We aren’t selling or closing Dreamworld,” she said, adding Ardent would invest to create a “more attractive and entertaining theme park”. “We are considering opportunities external but complementary to the park that could include retail, hospitality, accommodation and entertainment precincts, similar to Universal Studios and Disneyland in the US. “There is 25 hectares of land at Dreamworld that is not being used. “We are exploring options to develop that unused land, while continuing to invest in a world-class theme park.” The Ardent site is 60ha with Dreamworld and WhiteWater World across 35ha. Ms Thomas said some areas would not be suitable for development and remain as open green space. The site review would take anywhere from a few months to a year and was about understanding council’s and the Government’s strategic plan for the area and working with them, she said. The revelation of Dreamworld site’s potential expansion was warmly welcomed by Gold Coast leaders and comes seven months after a river ride malfunction killed four people in the darkest day for Australian theme parks in 30 years. Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate said the potential expansion was exciting news for the city. “I’m sure this will result in the theme park evolving to the next level,’ Cr Tate said. Northern Coast councillor Cameron Caldwell said Ardent Leisure controlled a significant site in the city’s north. “A lot of it is undeveloped and the council would consider any development opportunities proposed.” Ardent’s earlier statement to the Australian Stock Exchange said a review of its Master Plan for Dreamworld’s site would consider the impact of “recent events” in reference to the tragedy and feasibility of rezoning parts for alternate use. It prompted Dreamworld CEO Craig Davidson to clarify Ardent’s priority was the “recovery of Dreamworld” and Tourism Minister Kate Jones to make a statement in Parliament saying she could confirm the park was “here to stay” and committed to the “long term”.
