  1. I mean it is, though. Using it as a restaurant, at night, makes it impossible to be a Sea World ride (especially not in the plot this thread is about), unless you want to make a ride that’s designed with the purpose to run only 1-2 months of the year.
  2. So, what you’re saying is that you want VRTP to build a Ferris Wheel, either optionally or expressly as a food venue, perhaps adjacent but definitely not within Sea World? Like Skypoint, but in a worse location, at a higher cost, with less capacity & more operational issues? And this is being compared to a lot flume?
  3. Might be the most lats on a coaster that's open here rn, judging by that POV.
  4. Interesting they’ve already sold 2 models before a single one has open, that’s a positive sign for the ride model ig. Also interesting to note the added ties on the on-site track of this variant, seemingly showing it’s going to use the ‘mine train’ wooden crossties seen in the concept video for, and previously assumed to be present on, Jungle Rush. Edit: Actually, is it certain this is the same model as Jungle Rush? All it’s noted as is a ‘Switch Back Mine Train’ in Vekoma’s delivery info, which sounds moreso like their modern actual Mine Train ride model, perhaps one with a segment similar to Expedition Everest, than a somewhat-Mine Train with JR’s inclined turntable. The only thing that points towards the turntable is a curved platform, but I don’t see anything about it that points specifically to a JR-esque turntable walkway moreso than a walkway adjacent to a turn into/out of the station.
  5. Obviously they have set amounts of money, what I mean is that the set amount they have accessible is leagues above that what’s needed to make a good ride/retheme if they were to use their resources strategically, but they instead continue to rely on their own backlog of proven concepts/ideas, dodging any logic (or, in most, especially USA cases, any unique ideas at all) no matter the cost, safe in the fact that most of their guests will still eat it up.
  6. Disney parks & budget issues are pretty much nonexistent IMO, they pretty much run off monopoly money atp (in both meanings of the word, ig). ‘Cause of that, I don’t see that likely to be it’s issue, if anything I’d guess it’s their general financial/industry-related position making them far too comfortable to allocate their immense resources on basic, safe storylines/attractions, without any pressure to second-guess suitability/coherency, reaffirm they’re allocating resources well, or just generally partake in any actual innovation.
  7. I highly disagree here, nothing about it seems at all targeted towards 'young girls', and tbh I don't even know how what part of it possibly gave you that assumption. It just seems like they wanted Splash Mountain's theme gone, and in the process defaulted to a stock-standard, unoffensive, "Disney" theme. Like, this exact aesthetic/story could easily be copy-pasted onto any of their boat pseudo-dark rides (Na'vi River Journey, Pirates, "It's a small world", etc.) without any changes, and it would not only work, but work much better than it has as a Splash Mountain reskin. They've not targeted the wrong audience, they've just gone with the easiest option for their audience.
  8. Pic can’t be posted, but proper layout track is now onsite. Unclear atm as to if it’s in the position it’ll soon be installed in, but if so it’s the turn/valley underneath the turntable.
  9. Current state of the soon-to-be arcade building
  10. Update on the FotWW castle & the entrance pathing from Superman’s plaza KT’s barn has an unthemed roof now, too, but I only viewed that from DCR
  11. Some images from today: Motocoaster Jungle Rush Murrissipi Motors Judging by what I can see of Jungle Rush, both in person & through these photos, I think this is (roughly) what’s been constructed as of now: (green: track & supports, blue: notable ride hardware of some form) that means the track for the station, entrance into turntable, entrance into the station from final brake run, & maintenance bay are in, as well as the switch/transfer track between the 2 & the catwalk/main support structure for the turntable itself.
  12. if someone’s careless enough to go to the site, buy VIP tickets ‘cause they like the word, then separately purchase extra ride expresses, that’s on them at that point. like seriously, did people just lose any critical thinking all of a sudden? or maybe just you?
  13. it’s already weak to pull the ‘your opinion’ card, but especially so when this entire recent issue has been your opinion on the event time needing an extra click you couldn’t perform
  14. tbh that confused me a little when i first saw it, thinking it was a paid, limited time replacement for winterfest ‘til i realised how nonsensical that’d be. it’s a winterfest add on w/ it’s activities & (some of) the effects, performers/entertainment, and mainly nighttime rides of white christmas, for $10-$50 bucks. and, if you can’t spend that, you still have access to the extra activities (toboganning, food, (upcharge) skating, etc) in day park entry. i think it’s more than worth them trying it out, even solely for more night ride opportunities.
  15. Hopefully they trim the vines around Trident during this extended maintenance period, ‘cause they’re already getting a bit out of hand. Also, don’t know how common it is to see JR with scaffolding around it like this during a maintenance period (I guess every time it’s repainted), but this is the first time I remember seeing it & thought it was interesting.
  16. Small update for the former VR area as a whole: The path up to the castle is once again open to guests… But the castle itself has both entrances boarded up the same way that VR’s entrance & exit cutouts are. Here’s hoping it’s not permanent, and the building/plot will actually have a use (especially considering they’ve just built a BoH shed in prime expansion area), and keeping this as a shell would be very disappointing. Anyway, quick pic of the new pathway after being grown in a bit more. And progress on the fence for what’s very likely to end up as another walkway (former station area). I guess it could be argued this is would open up a more wheelchair accessible way to get from Nickelodeon to Storm, but it still doesn’t sit great with me seeing all this space be seemingly used for nothing more than a path & lawn, especially for a landlocked park that, again, just plonked a shed in their best expansion plot.
  17. They’re trying to make the point that it’s unknown if Dreamworld are making, or will make, similar quality posts about the ride as those that MW made for Flash, as the time hasn’t come for those to be posted yet (Like, for example, a construction timelapse, footage of trains arriving/testing, etc).
  18. I agree, I’m talking solely about the website (having ‘Now Open’ & ‘Closed’ on the same page, for the same ride, at the same time).
  19. I feel like the chance of Universal making a ground-up park/experience here is leagues more likely than Disney doing it. Uni could make something as small as their Las Vegas horror experience, a mid-sized park like their family-oriented ones, or a larger-scale, all-encompassing ‘resort’ (if the tourism market is large enough). Also, with Movie World maybe going up for sale/undergoing ‘management changes’ relatively soon, Universal could swoop in like they did PortAventura, spruce the park up a bit & replace the DC IP with their own.
  20. IMO, they definitely are addressing those concerns somewhat, but there’s still a way for them to go. Their semi-openness about what’s going on currently (Superman queue/hydraulic launch fault, Doomsday destroyed, the vids & images of Flash/WoO construction, etc) is good, but some of these were done in ways that could’ve been more ‘open’ & less ‘reactionary’. Like, how they’ve now confirmed that Doomsday is closed ‘cause they’re figuring out what to do with the ride, but it’s already been that way for a while, and it’s still only stated as ‘Currently under maintenance’ on the website. Or, how they had the relatively large amount of hype-building posts for the Flash, an inherently reactionary ride in of itself, just to count it as officially open to no fanfare on a random Friday afternoon. Like, the fact they’re doing what they’re doing is a step up from the recent past, but it’s just not quite there yet (again, IMO).
  21. Kind of a shame that there wasn’t an actual opening ceremony, they’ve been fun to go to recently. Not that I think Flash warrants one, but theit constant hyping up of an ‘opening date being announced soon’ had me believing they thought it did.
  22. They already had Intamin out for FSF a bit ago, and I don’t think it’s breaking either companies’ banks to send some engineers over again.
