  1. Yeah I agree. Whilst the ride system is great I really don't like the implimentation on either of the sea world rides. I got nothing of the story of the ride and it seems to just have wetness for the sake of it in places. Looking forward to seeing what our Sea World does with it.
  2. A glut? We have one every 1000kms pretty much. Best thing that could happen to the coast would be 5 Vegas size casinos. Would clean up the city's image completely. (compare the streets of surfers at 1am to Vegas) Generate works class entertainment opportunities Increase revenue to the city to reduce rate burdens and it's the closest chance to ever seeing a Disney park here that everyone so desperately wants.
  3. No S&S down is a free fall under gravity. The turbo drop towers decent at a greater acceleration than gravity and the space shots fall is 'cushioned' by air. Very different than the intamin towers which literally drop the gondola into virtually a free fall (minus track friction). The Disney tower of terrors are similar to the S&S concept where the elevator is pushed and pulled up and down the shaft and never actually dropped.
  4. Seems pretty standard to me. Water rides cop a beating.
  5. Yep after the drop and two loops the coaster just wandered around for an eternity doing nothing and losing speed until the useless tunnel
  6. I really don't know why people are quoting their ideas on what will happen as fact and then arguing with others that challenge them. The pretty release is vague at best and these assumptions people are making could be right or wrong.
  7. I'm thinking a coaster with this theme might not be so great because it will have constant downtime (ie never work), the government will have to keep giving dreamworld handouts to try and get it going, people will constantly use it as the but of their jokes and the final product with only fit the theme 1/16th despite costing as much as one that is the full theme.
  8. You can certainly reopen the superman lockers. And can we stop beating a dead horse here? They are charge lockers, have been for over 6 years so who gives a shit??? Really
  9. Dreamworld said nothing. They just closed it and boarded it up!
  10. There is no way the TOT update wasn't a result of Intamin approaching DW and SFMM with a concept to reverse the car based on the return they would get from 2 sales to recoup the RnD costs. Nobody copied shit
  11. Friends of mine were in the next to launch position for Dragster when the train in front had a roll back, apparently that is quite an unnerving feeling also!
  12. When I was at bush gardens shikra broke down and we were stopped at the first station block (ie at the back). As part of the restart procedure cars had to be dispatched and as part of that a car was 'dropped' from the top of the ride. Watchin it one could easily assume that car would continue and come slamming into the back of us. I didnt KNOW there was another block brake out of sight and there were no signs. But I didn't sue Bush Gardens for not telling me this system was in place before the ride. Just sayin
  13. Yes I was clearly a bit out of date with my roll info, that was about a week ago.
  14. All reports point to it being a zero G roll, awesome! Yes Alex we did indeed change trains, what I meant is it was super easy, apologies. Why won't grizzly be open other Alex?
  15. We definately got a train from Disney to the airport I'm sure... But this was a number of years ago
  16. The world may have been a better place back then but that doesn't necessarily mean EVERYTHING was better lol. Those ads are shameful
  17. WHAT??? You get a years free entry into 3 parks for a crazy low price and you still then think you should be getting in parks discounts with that? Its no secret that theme parks (cinemas, stadiums etc) make their money from food and bev. Do you get a discount on food when you buy a movie ticket?
  18. That used to be the Movie World thing back in the day with even the thrill rides having fairly loose movie tie ins, much like the lethal weapon pre-show. As the park started to go more traditional theme park and a bit less about making movies you started to see the pre-shows disappearing. And yes the original pre show really did nothing to enhance to the ride imo.
  19. Just two points of note... there is not a 0% chance a key will fall out. Also it's not so much the inversions on a coaster that will cause items to fall out of your pockets, its the g forces, particularly ejector air which superman has HEAPS of that will literally 'throw' items off you.
  20. The original pre show was in the small theatre you now just walk through as part of the crew. Small groups were ushered in here and held to watch a short film that showed some clips from western movies (anyone remember the host?) and such before being sent through to the last little section of que before boarding. The ride was originally tied in with the film. But playing a music video is very different licensing to using a name of a film for your attraction so I'm guessing that's where the chance came about. This is the info from the parkz database "Originally named Wild Wild West as a tie-in with the 1999 film of the same name. It was changed in August 2002 because of a license issue."
  21. Very easy to get the train from the airport to HKDL and vice versa.
