  1. To summarize without the need to quote... it doesn't need to be quoted where you expect to be treated like royalty, it's dripping from every comment and post you make. Perhaos if you prioritized ANYTHING else over being first then you wouldn't be stuck buying something you didn't even know what it was, other than to be the first to have the most elitist thing possible. I have no need or motive to "white knight" the park. And geeze in past times I've gone so far as to downright lay them out to slaughter in these forums. However I just the parks on their actions and merits and not how much they make me feel special so I understand your confusion on how we have differing views. Spunds to me like they offered a solid ass product and you didn't like it because it wasn't what you had cooked up in your head, and as the mighty serial pest with a couple email addresses and a fancy camera they didn't bow down to your every need. The fact you say your email was much worse than posted on here is even more sad. The good thing is you can probably take solace that your critique has at least made for good 'forward round the office humour' after the no doubt many hard months of work the entire management team has been pulling lately. As for a need to kiss ass defend the park I have no thing. I but my ticket like everyone else and come in the front gate. I receive no special treatment, hell they don't even make fun of me behind my back so I'm certainly rating below you on that one.
  2. So after hearing from senior management that there had been some less than wonderful reviews sent through from some of the enthusiast community I came on here to have a look, and what I've found I find frankly quite disgraceful. If the stuff that was sent to management (as mentioned here, I haven't actually seen the letter ) is anything like what has been posted in this thread I'm so very embarrassed and ashamed for our community. I think its very sad to see that a few vocal self entitled enthusiasts are effectively representing an entire community as they are the in your face vocal ones. It seems every time a red carpet isn't rolled out and something tailored to their exact tastes personally that there is this tendency to get butt hurt and demand improvement.
I've made my stance clear before, enthusiasts ARE members of the General Public, NOTHING more. If you buy a ticket to get in, or enter through the front gate, you're not an insider, you're not special, and you deserve no special treatment. The fact that the park does cater to your HOBBY INTEREST is to their credit, and we should be appreciative of anything they do for us. And please not this is from the perspective of someone who DOESNT work for the parks and is in no different position to any of the rest of you.
The fact that any member of management has made themselves available to any of us and listens to our input is also to their credit, and we should also feel privileged about that. What I read above is a big unrealistic whine about things that are barely an issue. I will take the one point I've heard that Rivals FT should have been at night, which I agree with, so it's a bit special. But anyone having a complain that they weren't made to feel special by it not being just makes them sound like an entitled asshat. As for the UTT itself and the Hyped components. This is an offering being sold as a small group fully guided evening tour. One would be foolish to thing it's anything but and that there would be free time to relax in the night. I've done similar with the RIP tour at Universal and it's really packed.
As self proclaimed experts on the park and Fright Nights, it would be clear to someone just how much that is to pack in, within the allocated time and what to expect.
If people want time to experience everything at their own pace they should perhaps step down from their ivory tower for a second and god forbid experience the event a a mere commoner. The UTT offerings are not intended to give you EVERYTHING AND MORE, they are a different way to experience the night. It seems a lot of the complaining is that there is TOO much to do, well geeze shame on Movie World. Remember, this is not something created for enthusiast, it's a product to sell to everyone. That means they have to fill the expectation of someone who has forked out A LOT of cash for there night, and they will expect a full night.
The fact that people are saying that there was too much to do, and that Movie World didn't meet their expectations in the one sentence is just laughable. So please everyone, take a step back, a breath, think about what we're hear for... If it's to have fun at an amusement park with our friends (or solo if that's you're thing too) and enjoy ourselves then let's do just that and leave the bullshit at the door. If it's to feel like some kind of elitist superstar that has gold plated doors open for them at every turn and expects the park to cater to every whim, then I suggest may it's time to find another HOBBY! I think it's great how much the new wave of management at the Village Parks is doing for the enthusiast community and I hope they keep it up, despite the vocal criticism of a small minority.
  3. I don't think that's a fair statement at all. In my experience the park limited Fast Track sales on Rivals to an acceptable number (it was sold out at one point when I went to ride) and the wait time was very small. They were also doing a great job of merging the Standby and Fast Track ques at a fair level. This ride doesn't require lockers so there is no money gouging in that regard either. I think the whole thing has been managed extremely well and the price point is generous even , is completely fair.
  4. I'm glad they did this. IMO it should have gone further and the upchage should only be possible with already having purchased unlimited fast track. This is exactly what SFMM do with X2. For the sake of both fast track riders and normal que, you want as little people as possible purchasing the option.
  5. Just a quick one... this is a SOFT open guys... don't go running down there tomorrow on the assumption that "it most likely will be open" to avoid disappointment. Go as if it's most likely closed and you MIGHT get a surprise.
  6. Ok 1) you know what would be nicer than that? A nicely presented load area with theming... oh wait like the one the cars originally had 2) have they modified these cars to be silent? Cause if not that's appalling having Koalas in close proximity to a noisy attraction just for people to gork at! Just wow
  7. Yeah gotta remember that head is full of LED and you don't want the electrics enclosures copping the direct lightning hit
  8. It would most certainly be due to crane cost... and you'd be looking at a hell of a lot more than $3000 a day let alone a week for a crane that size. Maybe. Get your x10 tables out. MASSIVE cost
  9. The head is now atop the coaster but unfortunately we don't have any photos to share. This is one amazing theming element!
  10. You would think the area around GL, Batwing, JL and Rivals would make for a great scare zone with all the traffic it's going to see.
  11. Yes please realise that the Top Gold product (in America anyway) really is nothing about Golf at all and is so far from being a theme park. It's 100% a hospitality enterprise... it also has an activity with hitting balls with clubs as a minor aspect.
  12. Maybe the coaster had literally no airtime
  13. You mean like the ride being finished before the launch? There's a scoop!
  14. Can we please not start pasting our own posts into multiple threads. Please and thank you.
  15. Look @pazzap is either ultimate troll or just the person with the worst taste in coasters in the world. I stay stop arguing his very wrong opinions and let him be. It's one less person to take up space in line on the 'utterly disappointing' hyper when it opens.
  16. Just worth highlighting that this is the police report and is mostly an account of the day and witness reports. It's not the investigation report/conslusion as to what caused the accident.
  17. That actually sounds like an awful idea I'm sorry.
  18. Wow I'm sure this getting out will ruffle a few marketing feathers! woah scoop
  19. Because he's talking out of his ass Ive not ridden TTD but apart from Xcellerator I've not found anyone who doesn't rate superman as the most powerful launch. And Superman is certainly most solid attraction of any of the accelerator coasters given its more than just a one trick pony. Xcellerator is of course a whole different beast. There is nothing like that launch except maybe dodonpa
  20. Oh god here comes the sky is falling rubbish. Its not sluggish at all. In fact it was whipping way too quick trough the turnaround elements before, wouldn't have been a fun ride. Jusy think for a second... these people are about building a world class coaster, would they really just wack some trims on it to ruin the ride? No of course not. You can never judge a coasters speed and forces from off ride.
  21. I'll pay that one... As a bit of a Splash mega fan I have noticed a lot (ok I actually haven't ridden it in about 13 months so maybe it's been fixed up) not working. And much of that was OSHA issues with access that were identified a few years back. Much worse than that though is Indy, it's very very sad right now. I guess people give Disney a pass because the rides are SOO good even when half isn't working they are still 5 times better than anything else, but I don't believe that's an excuse. Also get those damn Tractors tipping on Radiator Springs Racers whilst you're at it Disney!
  22. Woah that went from 0-100 real quick! Can I ask a question for people that have been. Whenever I've gone on the UTT no one ever checked for Fright Nights admission tickets. They only checked our UTT booking. Is that always the case or just the off nights I've been there?
