  1. Ok provided/copy and paste same diff. Point I was making is I see so little point in these theme park sites that simply repost official releases from the parks you can read on any news site or their own. Interested that the show is designed so sections can be removed though.
  2. Looks like a nice copy and paste job from the shows website really. Show is indeed now open
  3. Ok wow I did the UTT tonight and I can't say just how awesome this experience is! It's worth any price they put on it. The whole experience is extremely well put together and is actually a thorough VIP treatment, which Id put right up there with the universal RIP tours. The special behind the scenes tour they've put together was one of the most hilarious and well constructed pieces of entertainment I've seen done by the park in ages, and the fact it's for select group just makes it even better. Won't ruin with any spoilers but the time spent 'obverving' within the maze was the highlight of the evening. Not at ALL dull and very interactive. Of course the fast track perks just top it all off. No waits for any rides or mazes which all had massive lines. GO DO IT BEFORE ITS OVER!
  4. Definitely upping the ante
  5. Actually watching other people get scared is very fun. And without doubt the best mazes are the two hero mazes for this year, they are awesome!
  6. Ummm the film studios are exactly that, film studios so movie world can't use them for rides because THEY ARE FILM STUDIOS! The rest of the buildings ARE RIDES so they are already rides. What is the point of your post?
  7. I think given the tiny amount of the market that visit this site and the fact several people in this thread said they've booked the tour shows it's not over priced. If you don't like the price, don't buy it, simple as that. It's a premium product offering with a premium price and I have no problem with that at all.
  8. Completely correct. I'm more interested in the report of her hanging by her legs and indeed how long between her coming out of the seat and the EStop being hit by the operator.
  9. I get the defensive posts but at the end of the day the points about these rides being safer because they are looked at more frequently in setup and tear down, only hold true it the operators are vigilant and replace the fatigued parts on schedule. If you keep re using old stressed pins and bolts things will break as we've seen before. Many of you would likely be surprised as to just how much of say a coaster car is replaced at every single refurb.
  10. Simple choice. Do you want a massive investment every 3-5 years or so you want a new attraction every year? Seems the public vote with their feet and keyboards and want something new each year.
  11. Correct above. There are combo fire systems that require both smoke AND heat to trigger an alarm (can be known as 'rate of rise' dectors). The Scooby disco room works like this during ride operation. When the ride is shut down they revert to normal smoke detectors in case of fire. The que is different and must be isolated for smoke effects.
  12. That's a very risky and stupid game. There is every possibility haze will set of an optical detector and then you have the big red truck show up, a ruined party, an angry venue and probably a fine. Smoke detectors are there to detect anything in the air, even dust can set them off. Proceed with caution.
  13. Let's point out cedar point gets 3.6 million visits in only 5 months! And at all these parks people aren't paying $33 (100 divided by 3 parks) for unlimited entry for a whole year!
  14. Wow that is the worst write up of fog machines setting off fire alarms I've ever heard of, especially from someone saying "trust me I'm in the industry". Ok any particle based atmospheric effect (fog, haze, smoke, low fog, whateveryouwanttocallit) WILL set off particle/optical smoke detectors. The reason dry ice effects 'likely' won't is they don't reach high enough for the detectors to see the particles. Same goes for cooled low fog, which uses a fluid that evaporates before it rises to height. It has NOTHING to do with if a machine uses heat to make the fog. And most 'haze' if people are talking about "Water based" (which is made from glycol and NOT water) us just a small amount of fog passed through a fan. There are machines that use a fine oil based fluid to create true haze but that are about 6 times the price of the cheaper glycol based systems. Please don't come on the boards trying to act all expert like when you don't know what you're talking about because rest assured there are members here who are experts in various fields and will expose you every time.
  15. A suggestion to not look at them cause they are bright is VERY different to saying they hurt your eyes. Please don't be misleading in your statements if you are 'in the AV industry' and know better.
  16. Surely any MW employee can't make comment on the attraction until it's launched/released to the public. Having said that you can clearly see the cars are bigger than Speedy's cars from outside the ride.
  17. Whilst the new lasers are bright they are approved entertainment lasers for audience scanning and do/can not 'hurt' your eyes. They may annoy them by being bright but they are not doing any damage to them.
  18. They are the same trains. It's just the fiberglass shells that got tossed
  19. I just don't think the ride got the marketing it needed when it opened, and it was also targeted wrong, and now it's not the new kid on the block so it doesn't have marketing. The ride itself is really solid, shame to hear some things weren't working but unfortunately that's going to happen with that type of ride. oh and Hardly a factor when you consider for $10 you can go to every park and as much as you like. Very few day passes actually sold.
  20. Never understood why they had the elevators at all, including the painfully slow one at the exit.
  21. My favourite is how Joz answers exactly what they were then someone else posts a wrong answer from a vague memory they aren't sure about
  22. So there was a sign outside an open ride for 2 weeks stating that it was "Down for Annual Maintenance? That seems rather odd.
