Yeah i'm confused - to clarify, are you saying world class parks should or shouldn't have one-off attractions?
-
You only need to look as far as the changes Scooby's endured or Aussie World's new Gyro Swing ride to see that it's not just Dreamworld going through varying degrees of new & unprecedented regulatory changes from WHSQ. In which case, it's safe to assume Dreamworld's mum on Sky Voyager because being honest & transparent about the hold up could easily be perceived as pressuring the state body and/or the manufacturer, and that'd be PR nightmare for them.

I like the Movie World facade a lot more.

I think it's safe to say we'd be waiting until after Consentino is gone now.

I do hope that sage is high enough. Do the screens get a live feed during the show?

I wouldn't read into the billboard thing too much. For the couple of grand it would cost to have it replaced it's worth it for the school holiday rush. I have no doubts it'll be back in a few weeks.

You can get a respectable budget chain hotel like Ibis Styles in Tokyo Bay which has 2-bunk beds + queen, breakfast and shuttles for under $200 a night in change and you can go even lower than with something like MyStays Shin Urayasu which is actually even closer. Alternatively, you can stay in the Miracosta for a cool $900 a night for one of their cheaper rooms. That's the beauty of Tokyo - with a city ten times the size of Sydney brings you a lot of choice. As for crowds - i'll just say that the Japanese know how to do order and flow very well. It's not like Australia where everyone only thinks about themselves - their culture is very hyper-focussed on the society and less on the individual, so you'll find whatever over-analysed excuse for not visiting a country like Japan e.g. too many people - to be at best, trivial. If you hate crowds, want a cheap motel and like Disney, I say stay at the Coomera Motor Inn and stare at Dreamworld's Ice Cream Parlour facade for a few hours.

Can you hold up today's newspaper in the picture too? Nah that's great, thanks for the effort. :)

Dreamworld - Buy 3 Get 1 Free
Slick replied to Gold Coast Amusement Force's topic in Theme Park Discussion
I'd love to see Dreamworld do flexible day ticket pricing as a permanent thing. Being able to respond to ride closures and off-peak/peak periods with varied pricing would do wonders in getting folks back into the park. -
Press Release Sea World to launch new Thunder Lake Stunt Show

Yikes. So much yikes. -
Which is probably a good thing, because being really frank, building an amphitheatre when you already have one is about the biggest waste of money I think i've ever seen Dreamworld attempt so far.

Yes.

This fanfic sure is interesting. Whether we're talking pie in the sky dreams or fiscally realistic strategies, there's two things the park needs to do: 1) Build a big f*cking coaster. 2) Change the narrative. In regards to the first one - there's just no way Dreamworld exists without a rival to rival Rivals. Find me a park that's bounced back from a poor start or a tragedy without a roller-coaster and i'll eat my hat. Just look at Wipeout's closure - it effectively wiped off hundreds of millions of dollars from the company's share value, and yet a replacement Zamperla clone is 8 million in change to install. The lesson here? Never, ever question the power of a good thrill ride and what it does for theme park brands. It doesn't matter if you're a regional park like Six Flags Great Adventure or Alton Towers, or a major player like Hong Kong Disneyland, if you don't build it they won't come. Movie World proved that the crowd exists and people will pay for it. No roller-coaster, no Dreamworld. In regards to the second point - I reckon the park will probably need new owners with fresh faces for the simple fact that as @joz mentioned earlier you need to draw that line in the sand between old and new with the public in order to get them to trust the brand again. Whatever the plan is, the park needs to get real honest, real humble and real transparent to win people back.

That would create wayyyy too much effort for us. We're mods, not parents. Instead, we have handy tools like the one I just applied to @Max Egan where we can pre-approve posts until we reckon members follow our pretty easy to follow community guidelines. Also, this thread this garbage and i've locked it.

So this is happening.

Park guests are all "but will it open later today?"

I dunno, is it?

Just had a flick through this episode of ABC's Hard Quiz, where one of the contestant's specialty fields is "roller-coasters" - how many do you reckon you would've gotten right? https://iview.abc.net.au/show/hard-quiz/series/4/video/LE1831V006S00/

Big difference between an hour two off an already late trade compared and what's in Australia.
-
Well i'd guess it's either going in at the Dreamworks Amphitheatre or the Dreamworld Convention Centre. In hindsight, building a bridge to to the Amphitheatre to replace the one they knocked over would've been a good call.

Where's the show being performed?

Dreamworld March Update
Slick replied to Gold Coast Amusement Force's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Arkham's audio has been running pretty consistently for a while, just FYI.
