  1. Yeah, Malcom is the movie, that was a cool flick, especially the bit at the start where he gets all tram parts and makes that buggy and the bit where he uses the bins to overcome the security guard. The ssytem used would be a click on/click off mechanisim as I said before, like on a tape player whare on press keeps the button down, while another press lifts the button up again, this would be adapted so the boats would be pushed together with a couple of robo arms or something and they would stay together, while another push would disconnect the two boats. That car door type toggle would work too as they would stay together no matter what, which would be good for safety and they would only seperate at the correct point in the ride. Oh and the motorbike looks cool>
  2. Do you think that few of our smaller "Adventure parks" will snag a couple of rides? I could imagine Magic Montain or Jamberoo buying a flat or too, and being second hand (or in some cases 3rd Hand) it would be cheap.
  3. I think what TIM meant was wether space probe could actually come apart, which is what I have been pondering too. Is the tower concrete filled or is it hollow? If the latter is the case then it can definitely be moved eslewhere. Not all rides are transportable though, SRR being one of them
  4. This is one of my newest ideas 'galvin', its a Split-up boat flume, to give you a general idea of what it is, It is a log flume with 6 passenger boats that are really two 3 passsenger boats joined together, the ride starts out like a normal log flume, but park way through, a mechanism spilts the Two 3 passenger boats apart and they go down seperate routes, offering different experinces depending on which part of the boat you are in, then the two courses come together again and the two boats duel against each other for the final part of the ride, before the two courses form back into one and the boats join back together to form the 6 passenger boat again. This ride could have many ways of themeing it, for example, riding on logs through a sawmill, before a ripsaw tears your log into two and both go their seperate ways. Another idea could be exploring through the rainforest in a raft, but a crocodile attacks and bites your raft in two and the party is separated. Yet another idea could be canoeing in a river but some of the members of your crew are abducted by aliens. A ride like this would be interesting because of the feeling of uncertainty the ride creates because you dont know what is happeing to the rest of the riders and because of the deuling part at the end of the ride. The rafts would seperate and reconnect using a click on/click off mechanism seen commonly in everyday life, for example like the pause button on a cassete player. Hydraulic equipment is used to push the boats together and get them apart. Anyway, here is a pic of it..
  5. Sorry, what I meant was when could we expect Total Thrills to close? But you have already answered my question by saying that you are going to upgrade it in 2-3 months, hence it wont be closing for a while but why are you running two webistes about the same thing?
  6. In what sort of time frame can we expect to see Total Thrills to go to the big website beyond?
  7. I remember being in a loo with an LCD door, It was pretty cool seeing the door going from a sort of transperent grey to am opaque silvery color, But i still was not game enough to go! I think the LCD floor will be cool, no doubt many a rider will be flattening themselves to the edge of the cable car when the floor goes. And no the floor doesnt go all wierd when you touch it, it stays the same.
  8. Maybe it was because it is his first name, which is a pretty obvious choice for many, and im doubting your first name is Obstructure. If anyone wants to know, my forum name is my nickname.
  9. Maybe if they were really short on space they could put the model T lane somewhere else (like with the australian wildlfe experience) in the park and use the space for a major ride (have to be pretty narrow though) and that area could be an extension of the giant oil company, or it could be turned into a new industrial/danger themed area.
  10. This has got to be one of my weirdest ideas, but what if they mounted a wind generator atop the TOT, it probably wouldnt be the windmill style type like what is at Arrarat, but rather those verticaly mounted ones that looks like an egg beater. Just a thought.
  11. For some strange reason I cannot explain, I have had a sudden urge for an Intamin inverted coaster to be built here, I saw some pics of "Tornado" at Särkänniemi and I thought it was really cool.
  12. If it is a coaster, heres' hoping that it is a Setpoint swing thing (like Roller Soaker at Hersheypark) In terms of location, I dont know where because I havent been to WnW for 6 or so years and I can hardly remember the layout. If the new attraction were to be a slide, I would like to see one of those bowl slides that WWW makes, riding one of those would be an interesting experience. Hang on, I know, What about a proslide zoomerango, that would be seriously fun!
  13. What has happened is terrible, they really should have used something to hold the gondola in place like rich said. On another note, did anyone hear about the incident at the Tamworth show? A little kid fell out of the ferris wheel.
  14. All the sites I suggested for the melbourne park would work because they are all pretty close to the CBD and all accessible pretty much on seamless freeway/tollway. I like the Idea for the olympic park park, I think it would work well.
  15. Why is land so hard to find and why is it so expensive in sydney anyway? I think Melbourne should get a park too, it has 3.5 million people but all we have is luna park (not that it is bad or anything, but i want an actual theme park) I thought of some locations too, such as next to the new cragieburn bypass in melbounes north (If anyone can rememember that park i drew up a couple of months back, thats where it was designed for), beside the princess highway near weribee (I think this site would work well because an open range zoo is viable out there so why not a theme park, and its near avalon airport, the future home of Jetstar) A friend of mine suggested building it on decking over the jolimont rail yards like fedaration square (this was a cool idea, but i think space and cost limitations would stop this from working. I also thought of building it near frankston (this area is touristy anyway).
  16. Just out of interest, how much would a big theme park trip to the US cost, I dont want an exact figure, just a ball park figure.
  17. Oh well, thats what i get for not going to coasterbuzz.
  18. I found something I thought you guy might be interested in, See http://www.coasterdynamix.com It is a working model roller coaster kit that uses flexible connectable track segments, Extendable supports and a base system to hold it all together. The ride is a B&M inverter and It actually looks pretty life like. I really do want one but it has a price tag of around $650 so I may not be getting one in a hurry.
  19. What sort of stuff did the people do at WL, did you get to push any buttons on the ride (I remember being at SW once and the guy let me pull the levers on the tobbogan slide to release the riders down) or is it just a sit and watch affair or pointless jobs like lining bins, watering plants etc.
  20. Yeah, i think that an intamin Pelirious Plunge style ride would go down nice, but I dont think they will build one because moive world have already got a similar ride, and I imagine DW will be looking for unique rides, Hence the gyro swing. I also think a new looper will go down nicely, I am really just waiting for a park to do something really ground breaking, and blow the other parks out of the water, I wanna see a coaster war. If they wanted to build something low cost, then adding some new waterslides to Blue Lagoon could work. just a big timber tower with a thatched roof and 8 or so slides snaking from it would work well. Maybe something the park needs is a decent dark ride, maybe one with a doom type theme near TOTs entry would go down nice. On another note, I think the LIM section of TOT should be enclosed in a plastic/metal tube. It would make things quieter and it could be interesting riding through a space age tunnel. and in the section over Model T lane could be a timber walled section with metalic lining on the inside, and all those little white buildings under the track should be themed or painted.
  21. Yeah, I liked hangover better, especialy the floorless vehicles, that was my first ever ride on a ride that inverts you, and i loved it. I would be interested to ride on the one at LP, it has lap bars which would make for an interesting experience. it odes look ugly, they could have painted it tan to mach the theme, no leave it in space ship colours. Im heading to Melbourne next Saturday for the footy so I will ask mum if we can go before the game. DJs' right about the meshio site being useful, it made making thunderbolt for my dreamworld re-creation much easier.
  22. Our school does it in year 10 (im heading off to a civil engineering/surveying firm). I assume the minimum age for work experience is 14.75 years old, the minimum job age.
  23. Cool, good effort. you should post some of your favorites.
  24. Yeah, My first and last visit during the summer holidays just gone was really good. Demon was my first ever ride on a looper, (the last time I was at a park was way back in 1998 and I didnt want to ride back then) SP was awesome fun, and I admit I was a little nervous too, but it was great, I wanted a re-ride but we left at around 2 to do other stuff so I dint get to. Bush beast was good (I rode in the back seat) and SRR was really fun too, they seemed a lot wetter than Thunder river. I really am unhappy about WL's closure but at least I got to experience the park once.
  25. Yay, i got it for my Birthday Today. its really good but the terrain editor is a a pain to use. Tonight Ill have a proper go and make my first coaster....
