They stop feeding animals like tbat every year around that time due to the fact that reptiles go into tourpa which is like sub-hibernation. Still concious and all but eat and move less. Plus crocs can go about a year without eating. Featherdale in Sydney also do this.

They still might be upgrading the enclosure. I think it needs it.

The difference with AZ is that they have holding pools/pens and DW would not. And while tranq'ing is risky, so would holding them as they do for so long. When Featherdale recieved their large one from tropical north QLD, he was held for approx 15 hours, most of which was tranportation. Realistically they shouldnt be bound for much longer than 20-24 hours. Im not sure what maitnence they would have to do, but they would have to work fast.
