  2. Skeetafly theory 101. Existing overflow carpark changed to a permanent carpark. (Makes sense to be relating to the area size that I have been talking about). Movie World extending out somewhere near where push indicated. (This is logical to me because this area has a water source to create a lake) I just want to state 99.9% of the time I am wrong and if you ask my wife it’s more like 100%.

  3. Hi Adam Probably 2017. There will be investment next year but it will be mostly infrastructure, capacity, presentation, shade, audio etc. then fingers crossed another world class attraction in 2017 and 2019. If the people keep coming then we will keep investing and improving. Mark Not confirmed but we may be making a few small changes next year. Sorry I can't elaborate at this stage.

  5. Was as DW & WWW today and had a look around the Ex Cyclone area from rides and slide towers and on the interior, there seems to have been a bit of work done. New train's on, essentially each train car is literally themed a coloured car. Maintenance folk were running it up and down the station (repeatedly winching it back) in the afternoon. Track's been painted in the station but is still grimy and yuck everywhere else. Track colour in station is the same as before. Old cyclone train in pieces in the storage lot. Station seems to be themed as a pit stop with shelves and crap lining the outside of the indoor brake run. The old Cyclone doors have been removed with orange looking mesh sliding doors in its place. Floor's been redone, painted a blueish grey colour. From the top of Tailspin it looks like the interior of the cyclone queue tower's had its panels painted an organgey colour although it's hard to say since I couldn't see much. From WWW, the thing looks mostly gutted inside on the upper levels, doors were open. Mesh windows have been installed facing WWW from the station but otherwise no exterior changes, still its ugly sheet clad self. Brock Museum has had it's shell and roof done, doors open to interior, couldn't see much from Wipeout though. The F&B outlet is mostly gutted inside.

  6. Skeetafly - good job! Some of the best contributions I have seen to this forum in ages. Whether or not your predictions turn out to be right is irrelevant. Your obviously strong knowledge of planning is very insightful.

  7. Don't thank me yet, I don't think anything I have said has ever come about. Man I am screwing my post up today but this one is for Alex. I haven't solved the staff entrance problem yet but I am working on it The thing that makes me think MW has already solved this problem is the 3 applications where lodged on the same day. One of the applications was for admin buildings.

  8. Yes as in your case being residential it is hard to get a easement moved off your property because it is normally running through a lot of other people's land and if you had the money to move what ever was causing the easement for you then you would have to move it off everyone's land to divert it around your land. Being that if it is a stormwater easement it looks like it is at the end of the easement which would make it easier to relocate. The other thing that makes skeet think what ever they are doing with the earthworks is major is the company that has lodge the application. For your easment you may want to look up the QDC for the rules on easements. The QDC took this off councils this year and I believe under the QDC you can now build up to your easement. Getting back to MW easement you will find commercial buildings encroach easements a lot. If you think of Brisbane city and all of the services that would run under the buildings, I think you might understand what I am trying to spit out. Im not saying it is getting built in that area it is just my thoughts 101 on where it could go. Another thing to add is the entrance already goes over the easement. Last thing to add (gosh I'm a dick) is if for some reason is MV where not allowed to build over it then it could be used as a street along that line through the new area. sorry this post was for Brad, you would think after all these years I could quote

  10. So maybe this World Best Attraction, is in fact a whole new themed area, with world class theming, and features a rollercoaster and a number of other attractions.

  13. I always thought that they should do a well themed simulator experience to the Lego Movie... (The Lego Ride)

  14. Weird to hear you say it slammed you around as I generally think GL at Movie World has quite smoothe transitions. And yes it was the huge forces and 'holy shit' factor that did it for me on the Magic Mountain version. I thought the coaster would involve heaps of spinning which I wouldn't like but it's surprisingly nothing like that.
