Red slides are always faster..

Hate to say it but the new seating area needs shade.

I wasn’t aware slides don’t work when painted certain colours.

Hi Rob, all these years later I discovered your (ha) new post. wow, you've now solved so many mysteries here. I always suspected that the maze may have been bigger in its hey day. I wondered if the machine room was an addition with the times and the maze its self down sized. All I can say is, wow, it must have been awesome in it peak when you saw it, I cant imagine how awe inspiring it would have been taking up the whole area and an upstairs/down stairs configuration. I can really understand your fascination with the place as a youngster as it fascinated and in a way like you, haunted me for decades and I only saw it as fraction of its' wonder. Thank you for your vivid description, your detailed picture you painted really took me back and made sense to how it must have looked. Thank you. Yes that Dragon video was in front of the entrance and how I remember it, as that video was shot in '76 the year I stopped going there. So definitely different to how you remembered how it used to be pre video games room. I know it's a few years after your last post and this may not even reach you, but incase it has, Id love to see that sketch of your memories of this unique and truly bizarre place in Sydney' s history. It seems Im as fascinated as you and has made the same impact on our lives and memories - nice to meet a kindred spirit. I see Arkham is down again for planned maintenance as of today with no end date. It has had several lengthy down periods this year. Anyone know what they’re doing to it? maybe it’s time to retire the old girl. I’m going on sat and was hoping to ride it after it’s maintenance period as that’s when I find it’s smoothest and not rough as guts.

The honest truth is I'm impressed by most things, particularity where some degree of effort and talent has gone into pulling off a good vision. These days most things fall into that category. The only thing that has never impressed is any motorbike coaster ever. I'm also rather good at knit-picking. For a start: Those staff name badges need to go.

Entrance sign has been installed!

The Video ran for barely a couple of minutes and was hosted by an Actor that I believe is the same Actor as the Miner you see in Lift 2 ("What y'all doin in here! (fires rifle), Damn it look what you made me do " etc..). It's also the same voice "y'all take care out there on the River" before you board.. He is standing in a street of a Ghost Town set (probably from WB's in Burbank). He tells you that you're about to enter a real Ghost town film set used in famous Western films - like the one he is standing in - and to take care because it's Haunted. He then turns and begins walking down the street and vanishes, suggesting he is a Ghost.. The Preshow video was not as bad as Lethal Weapon but still was pretty bad. It also didn't make sense with Crowd flow as People would always just line up at the doors either side and it was hard to corralle them in and shut the door behind them. Also People would often force the Automatic doors open and continually break them. The pre Video and entire ride never had anything to do with the Wild Wild West Will Smith film, thankfully so too because that flick was a stinker!
