  1. It's a real shame. The doomsday \ Villains unleashed is probably one of the best themed areas of the park (except for the fact that the ride bridge is facing the wrong way), just a shame the ride model choice was so poor.

  2. For me AA replacement still should be a wing coaster or flyer themes to Matrix with a cool pre show/lift hill and then ‘flying’ around the city as you enter the matrix. Loading the train is perfectly suited story wise to getting plugged in. I have the entire ride, show and story design in my head.

  3. Ahh great question - the original brief was: Filler flat thrill ride to increase quantity of rides/experiences throughout the guest's day Something different to neighbouring parks Good capacity to keep up with the rest of the park's demand Compact Back then when Doomsday opened, the Mavericks/WB Exhibit building was (and is) still a big question mark sitting in the middle of the park. I'd address that building and its use in advance and plan accordingly. If the space will serve as the entrance to a wild west themed dark ride that's housed inside that building as well as a flat ride, than a Zamperla Super Air Race fits the bill perfectly. It's compact, good capacity, a thrilling flat ride and it's got a competitive advantage over Pandamonium in that the central mast moves up and down. Given the space is land-locked by two show buildings there'll be a real sense of speed when those things whip around inside the space. If the entrance to the Mavericks/WB Exhibit dark ride is going over to Arkham's side, then you have more room to play, and I think more room to go balls deep with something folks have never seen before. Let's be honest, mostly everything has been done, seen and installed at this point so you want to capture folk's imagination like Wipeout did back in the 90's. Therefore, i'd risk it for the biscuit and go to Mondial to build either an Airstrike or an Avalanche. My money's on the Avalanche though, high capacity, completely batshit insane and unlike anything really anywhere else in the world, and is visually mental enough that word of mouth would be the marketing campaign, much like Rivals.

  4. I couldn't agree more. It's a real contradiction - it's easily one of if not the most beautifully themed places in the park and yet what's there is really lacklustre at best. The Kinects/screens have aged horribly (not to mention being incredibly unintuitive to buy/use) and the hero-ride of the area is an over-engineered pirate ship.

  5. Here's a few pics from Roadrunner. Noticed a big box from Vekoma with some interesting info... some work was being done on the lift hill, too. It often gets queue times wrong. Once it had WWF at 40 mins all day when it was actually walk on... anyhow, both Doomsday and Superman were completely closed today. Doomsday in particular had at least 5 maintenance workers on it... seems like they're really trying to get it open quickly.

  6. Is the theme parks app accurate? It is currently showing wait times for Superman and Doomsday. Even though maintenance is showing they are closed. I’m not actually at the park but faking my gps to get live updates of wait times.

  7. The discussion about lifts was for the rafts, not the people...

  9. All that'll remain in terms of untouched opening day stuff will be a bunch of facades.
