  3. What do you mean? The suggestion was always that once the state had reached a sufficient level of fully-vaccinated residents, the need to 'separate the herd' was lessened. We saw NSW lower restrictions once they had reached 90% double vaxxed. QLD health reported earlier today that we are now at 91.79% double vaxxed. The 90% threshhold has long been understood to be a level where herd immunity is largely effective - and removing this restriction before the Easter weekend (and announcing it more than a week away to enable venues to adjust their arrangements accordingly) is both expected and appropriate.

  4. I hope so, but with MW's parade going backwards and I can’t believe it to be possible but HWSD2 is even more shit than it was before, I wouldn’t be counting my chickens yet.

  5. if they were in a bad financial situation, they wouldn’t have been able to refurbish both road runner and WWF at the same time, build WNW’s new slide complex, introduce the new animal experiences to paradise country, refurbish Surfrider (even if it still isn’t open yet) or introduce new events such as Hooray for Hollywood. This also doesn't make sense as their other properties aren’t being run nearly as bad as MW. When dreamworld was declining, they copped a lot more and they weren’t cut any slack or had excuses made for them, so why isn’t it the same now they’ve swapped places?

  6. Ok, just remember the target was 70%, than 80%, now 90%. And now Thursday next week the unvaxxed can go anywhere. This is nothing to do with health. And there is an election coming up.

  9. We were there from 11am - 130pm. Whole park quiet and really disappointed DW arnt getting more love atm. But in saying that, quite a few big busses parked in the carpark today and a bunch of big school type groups about. Sky Voyager walk on (both levels working - and still the best ride on the GC imo) Taipan walk on. Only real queue was for Gold Coaster and Vintage Cars. Wiggles world looking extremely sad and needs some desperate attention. Park clean and beautiful looking. Gardens well maintained. Staff experiences great as usual. External Food vendors looked a little bored when we past through at 11. Dreamworld not doing much wrong atm imo. An updated kids area for the tiny ones would be a good investment given the really poor showing gold coast wide for the little ones and could help bring back the family's.

  10. Child falls from ride at Movie World on the Gold Coast, hospitalised in serious condition A child has been taken to hospital in a serious condition after falling from a ride at a Gold Coast theme park. Emergency services were called to Movie World at 1.08pm after a boy in his pre-teens fell from a ride. He was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious but stable condition with head injuries. ——————— that’s all the details reported currently so not sure of the ride or the how. thoughts are with the boy and his family so a speedy recovery **edit** from the Courier Mail: It’s believed a boy has suffered a significant head injury after falling off a carousel.

  13. Pictured: Reporters as they start typing the sentence "this comes just X years after the tragic Dreamworld incident that claimed four lives". In all seriousness though, I hope the child is doing okay and my thoughts are with the family.

  15. This station really disappointed me, as did Green Lantern. Movie World really stepped away from their thematic roots here

  17. Understand that the business is in survival mode. Things are improving (compared to being closed) but there is a long way to go. Financially, the business is/was in very dire straits...it was on the precipice in 2020. They're trying to rebuild it from the ashes but that will take time and some of the cosmetic issues described here are taking a back seat while that happens.
