1. Dreamworld has announced a new night market on property starting June 10th. Looks like a good time for those staying at the Gold Coast and locals. http://moonlightnightmarket.com.au/ A couple of things from scrounging the website: Rides wont be open. Starts 5 PM and finished at 9 PM every Friday and Saturday night with no end date which assumes that this is a permanent offering for the time being. Entry is basically a gold coin donation, but season pass holders and day guests get in for free. Seems that the festivities will start at 5 PM after park close, but those within the park will be able to stay within for kick ons. In my opinion this is a great move for the park. Despite rides being closed, it allows you to kick on with your night without having to battle traffic back to Surfers on weekend nights whilst also giving an alternate option to having drinks/food at Top Golf after a park day. Why rush back into the city when you can stick around, have some drinks, and absorb some atmosphere? I'm excited to see how this goes. Thoughts?

 4.
If this ends up being a success I don't think it would be a totally silly idea to look in to doing a 'permanent' trendy food market on the old amphitheatre site and uncouple it from DW. Night Quarter proved there's an appetite for it on the Northern GC, and best case that land won't be doing anything for a few years anyway.
That was my original comment on this back a month ago, and it is still my opinion. That way you could do it more legit than bumping the thing in and out every weekend. I get wanting to use park infrastructure, but really the most expensive bit of infrastructure you need is power which would surely already be run to there, and a concrete slab. Everything else is pretty minor. I do hope that's the vision for the medium term.

 5. The food festival mystery red shipping container was pretty popular when I was there. It's especially nice to have options other than burgers, hotdogs, chips and pizza after a week of theme parks.

 6. Nah, if you're going to open any ride, make it Claw. It's right in the middle of the action, and screw letting people ride ST for $2. It's not something that gets me excited, but its one of those 'makes sense' kind of things.. I'm fascinated by the extent to which they're pretending it's not Dreamworld running it, or even at Dreamworld. The FAQ has a Q. 'Where are you and it lists the Address, then almost begrudgingly in brackets says 'yes at the Dreamworld theme park'. I get not saying DW because no rides, but it's very peculiar to me. To Moonlight means to have a second job, typically at night and typically secret. I wonder if calling it 'Moonlight Markets' is deliberate.

 8. (photos via: au_themeparkfan on instagram, post contains more photos then the ones below) looks like trident is finally having work done to it at a very fast pace, this September 3rd opening for both Leviathan and Trident is starting to look very likely.

 9. While there may only be about 20 people currently discussing it in this thread, rest assured, a lot of people are noticing it. Not necessarily consciously - until you mention it to them and they go 'oh yeah! i did notice that!'. It used to be - when you'd point out the horrible state of something in Dreamworld, you'd point to a similar 'thing' at Movie World and say 'see? that's how you do it'. While the tables certainly haven't turned (DW still has a long way to go) MW is racing to the bottom fast.

 10. After spending the whole day at the park here are some things i noticed the park does well and what they do bad. good: - wide variety of food options with current outlets and new temporary outlets such as boost juice and donutime (even if they looked very out of place) - good guest interaction from charecters - wild wests boats and road runners trains are an improvement and it was nice seeing something to do with these ride getting some love - Batman exhibit is a cool and interesting experience, however one of the weaker ones out of the showcases. - Green Lantern was getting trains out faster then normal and the chain was completely stopping when there wasn’t a train on the lift, made it a lot more quiet. However, that’s all that really stood out in terms of the good things the park were doing. bad: - the operations were horrendous (excluding green lantern, scooby doo.) Batwing around 3-4mins, Rivals 5-7mins. WWF was ranging from 1-4mins. - very noticeable roughness on Rivals with the backs of the seats being somewhat exposed from the front which didn’t look great (could possibly always be there but this was the first time i noticed.) - 50-60% of the effects not working on JL, Scooby and WWF and barely any to none working in the villains unleashed area - areas such as the Kids area need new audio as it is nearly dead silent besides the noise of the rides and people (also an update is definitely needed.) - food was highly priced for bad quality - a lot of the park was pretty dirty and needed some TLC. - the Scoob 4D experience was not much better then yogi bear, with them just snipping scenes out of the movie, putting them together and creating a story that doesent make a lot of sense at all. - Arkham and it’s old tower facade are a bad eye sore and need to be replaced urgently, especially when 3 of the major rides were closed most of the day (scooby opening around 1.) - staff being miserable and rude, obviously not wanting to be there with some making comments about how sucky the job is to customers. overall it is obvious that the park is in decline, with it now being the third best on the coast (Dreamworld 1st, Sea World 2nd.) will make another visit in the coming weeks to see if there is any improvements. Hope this helps for anyone wanting to plan a trip or not being able to visit and wanting to know more info on what’s going on within the park.

 11. Surely just open ST... you only need 2 employees right? What a waste.
