  2. Project Zero delivers the visual wow-factor for Gumbuya World - towering over everything else in the park. It brings the "pre-entrance hype" as it can be seen from the highway and carpark/entrance. I'm also really digging the space retheme. The black truss support structure looks like a rocket launch tower; suiting the theme perfectly. Also, the white tin shed station and queue reminds me of Wonderland's Space Probe 7. It'll be interesting to see how reliable the ride is after the relocation/refurb, and how it rides. For more pics see here: https://www.parkz.com.au/search/photos/location/project-zero

  3. Considering they just did a full refurbishment on the Western gondola in the last 2-3 years I seriously doubt that it's happening. Feel free to post your sources or prove me wrong, but all the information that I have heard is that it's just a cosmetic overhaul and some minor work done mechanically to motors etc.

  6. @Gazza's Nearmap updates of Victoria prompted me to check out the GC and there have been a few updates - so here's a bit of an image dump: Marvin ride construction zone (Oct 26): Fright Nights Maze and queue races (October 26) Not exactly theme park but the below is up behind the studios \ outback on the road to Paradise Country. This paddock was used a few years ago for the Asgard set for one of the Thor movies. The 'parking area' wasn't there a year ago and was a greenfields site, but the several rows of items around the edge of the boundary fence are new since august. I've no idea what they are (I assume they're production set pieces for filming), they aren't all the same shape or size, but I can't get any better read on what it is without visiting on site... anyone have any ideas? Leviathan and Trident sites - this image is directly overhead and shows some of the pathways \ thoroughfares in and around Atlantis. Former Arkham \ Future Wizard of Oz land Didn't have a lot of time to explore so that's it for this update, but if I find anymore major changes i'll be sure to update...

  8. I’d imagine new gondolas would have formed a key part of their announcements and signage up around the park describing the scope of works if they were in the plans..

  9. I'm not going to edit your quote, as it is against the rules, but if I may paraphrase your reply below: simple hold on tight, I've been on some river rapids rides, and I've never fallen out. I game enough to put money on the fact that he responsible. Thousands of people would ride those rapids every year. If it were a design issue one would expect people to fall out of Thunder River Rapids more often. Not just now. Nobody realises an issue until an issue occurs. I'm not saying you're wrong about it being rider error, i'm just saying that your line of thinking "i've never fallen out so it must be his fault" is flawed - you could just be really lucky. With that said, I feel as though these guys may have been goofing around.

  10. A few reasons; You need to allow time for the full extent of (and ongoing impact of) the injury to manifest itself. This can take at least a couple of months. You are likely to engage with the park either via counsel or directly to reach a settlement before having to go to the time and expense of going to court. The park will involve their insurer who will want to investigate, collect evidence and may wish to negotiate a settlement. You need to spend the time finding appropriate counsel, and then providing them with an appropriate summation and brief of evidence.

  11. But they were redesigned, and simple hold on tight, I've been on some rough waterslides, and I've never fallen out. I game enough to put money on the fact that he responsible. Thousands of people would ride that slide every year. If it were a design issue one would expect people to fall out of a tube on triple vortex more often. Not just now.

  13. We've been calling for them to lift the prices for years, and while it isn't "Annual pass pricing circa 2006" ($399), I feel this one-pass price is probably closer to where I think it should be. They're probably going to be savaged on social media by the families that have had a sub-$500 worth of year round entertainment for almost a decade, but they need to hold the line on this and keep it at this level as those crying foul will be the reduction in daily attendance the park needs to better manage their current capacity. It's been a slow road but i'll give them kudos for having the bravery to raise the prices to this point. Edit: I do think the one-day ticket is a bit much. The best theme parks in the world don't break the $100/day barrier. I do feel as though the day-pricing is meant to encourage people to get an annual pass so they can get your marketing info but for people who will only ever visit on a single day, it leaves a bad taste, and the barrier to entry is too high.
