  1. All this is Bullshit really. Sadly it only takes a few people with loud voices and everyone listens, regardless of credentials or actual experience. The most important thing to take away from the photo posted by Sky Ads is not about the dolphin tanks, but rather why is there a monorail in Camouflage sitting behind the pools?
  2. I agree with Alexb, I think the park has enough IP based attractions, there is nothing wrong with a non IP based themed attraction, some of the best rides in the world are those not attached to an IP (Space Mountain for a quick example). Let's leave the movie IP for Movie World.
  3. Stumbled across this article today suggesting Ardent are pursuing a proposal to build a park in Coffs Harbour. Figured it would be worth sharing. http://northcoastchronicle.info/2017/02/dreamworld-developer-to-open-theme-park-in-coffs-harbour/
  4. Not popular my arse. The queue to vintage cars prior to the accident was always a decent length, which is not a bad feat despite being in a very out of the way spot. The park has been trying to make us forget the ride exists, but it is still a fan and family friendly attraction, one of the very few left. It's funny though, they did reopen after the accident, but then suddenly closed during the peak season. Wonder what has happened.
  5. Not there, but it is $499, which is the standard price on the Lego Australia site,
  6. The last few times I had been on the ride (for White Christmas) the fog screen was working, but the doors into the ship were not working, the guns were not scoring points, and the 3d effects were not working. We visited about a month prior too and the ride was much the same. Perhaps just bad luck?
  7. Looks like lego enthusiasts got a head start at the store. A group have posted this info piece as well as a detailed look at the store. http://brickingaround.com/2017/01/26/everything-you-need-to-know-about-dreamworlds-lego-store/ Still hoping to see some park icons under those sheets...
  8. That mad mouse is a sad sight to see. Thanks for the photos Strop.
  9. Has anyone been down to MW and ridden Scooby? I'm hearing some rumblings of some major disappointing changes to the ride..
  10. After the accident, the park sold the ride to a broker, who then moved it on to a park overseas. Not sure which park, but I believe it was in Asia somewhere.
  11. I find really odd that they are saying that the ride is inaccessible, when the only reason it is inaccessible is due to the newly constructed fence trying to hide the log ride from view, the immediate pathways leading to it are still as per normal.
  12. I think Alex is on the money here, it's safe to say the track circuit wouldn't have changed. The sharp sudden gradient of the land in the area around the tower would make it almost impossible. Happy to go into why it wouldn't work if you would like me to.
  13. Interesting, with all the wording like Joz and most of the world I expected to see Dreamworks family attractions open (ie everything but Pandamonium) but looks like thats not the case. That said, Craig was on 612 ABC the other morning talking about the reopening, and he said that there may be more rides open including some bigger rides, but at this stage the list they have provided is all they can confidently say will be open. Lets hope more come online, however judging by how set in stone that new web page seems to be, then i'm not holding my breath.
  14. Well at this stage there is no indication that it is returning. It's a very safe engine but it does cost to run, with the financial loss the park has undertaken I hope they don't see the Baldwin as a liability. Time will tell.
  15. So the Dreamworld reopening web page mentions no Thrill Rides, nor Log or Vintage Cars are to reopen at this stage. No mention of the train and the Baldwin though, do we think it will return? I hope this incident wasn't a nail in the coffin of them running the steam locomotive. Time will tell I guess...
  16. Ask and you shall receive. My friend apologises for the aliens tardiness, like most theme park guests he'd lose his brain if it wasn't screwed on, and it's not hence the detached state,
  17. I had an update re that project, I have heard it's full steam ahead as of this weekend, but the alien project is still in its infancy. Baby steps though...
  18. I can also confirm that this person is happily married, and that both robots are currently enjoying retirement. I have heard though that the owner is wanting to one day get them operational again.
  19. You should be safe to atleast run with Minimum graphics, which is still very enjoyable. The thing is though, if you aren't able to play it for a decent amount of time or get any enjoyment out of it, Steam will refund it for you (providing the play time is less than 2 hours I believe).
  20. Well, I guess the answer is how badly under spec'd your PC is. I'm running Planet Coaster perfectly fine on my iMac with Bootcamp. Spec wise it fits the bill what they say are the minimum supported specs, except it doesn't have a dedicated graphics card. The game has been running so well (albeit I dropped all the settings down, but even before I did it was running well enough). The worst part about it is our crap internet connection, but thats not the games fault or the computer.
  21. See, I don't know whats really happening on the inside, but one would have thought Insurance would be covering some of the losses during this time? I'm with Slick, now is the time return to normal, and to invest and invest big, not do the opposite.
  22. If it's the structure I think it is, it is overlooking the Rapids holding pond.
  23. I think you are on the right train of thought there Alexb. Unlike the competition up the road who just seem to be throwing mud and seeing what sticks.. Will be interesting to see if they continue with the high country theme or go back to the outback theme, whatever they do, I'm sure it will be a must see.
  24. Well, everyone get your last look at the original TOT Pod, its probably on its way to the scrap heap. A shame really. With the stand near the Tailspin, my memory is of it being a snack stand (the old park maps also show a Knife and Fork at the location),
