  1. Whilst I don't agree with their decision to close eureka and keep it SBNO for all these years, I understand the reasoning behind it. I'm not defending their decision at all, but Dreamworld isn't the only park in the world to have SBNO attractions and remnants of the past, some of the best parks in the world have or have had SBNO attractions for extended periods of time (yes including Disney). Yes it's sad that the park didn't see any value in keeping it operating (it's a damn shame really) but at least the park hasn't sat stagnant with no new addition's at all since its closure, and really the best we can do is hope that one day it is torn down with a new thematically correct attraction in it's place.
  2. For anyone that missed it. Looks good, and a very positive step for Adventure World.
  3. I added my take on your ideas Gary. Let's try to be realistic with our responses here? Good point Last I checked the river is regularly Cleaned, not drinking water clean, but presentable clean. Another good point, sure of would require some thought, but it isn't unsalvageable yet. Package it as part of the boat refurb. Stupid idea. It may not be the best thrill coaster, but it is still very popular with the young riders. Why waste that money? Just give it some theming in its current spot And upset the animals? And reduce another income stream for the park? Can't happen, that loop around BL is used as a way for the train the climb the gradient back to main street station level. The train would have big problems trying to go from Rocky Hollow around the base of the tower and up to Main Street level without it. And why create a new workshop for the train? If you move the workshop, you also need to find somewhere else for the fuel tanks and create easy access for It to be refilled. A Woodie would be good. An intamin prefab or a hybrid would be best suited to dreamworlds maintenance though,
  4. The local West Wylong Swimming Pool has a few slides > http://www.swimplex.com.au/waterslides.htm There's also Ton o Fun in Forster/ Tuncurray which also has 2 water slides. Oh and don't forget Magic Mountain in Merimbula.
  5. I think you are onto something there Gogoboy. As much as we all hope that the parks problems will be fixed with this CEO change, it isn't likely to happen. The parks problems are more likely stemming from above the CEO. I agree though, this needs to be split into a new topic. And RCW, New attraction will most likely be AVPX replacement and whatever stems from the AWE construction.
  6. Whilst I am happy to be corrected, if the Zodiac was scrapped, why would they have taken it apart and put it into shipping containers for presumably shipping somewhere, instead of just pulling it apart with no care in the world and taking it to a local scrap heap? Same goes with Probe, it seems really weird that they would pack them up into shipping containers for presumably shipping overseas if thats where they went when if they had no plans for them they could have saved a whole lot of money and scrapped them locally.
  7. Some of the off ride footage shot (such as the footage looking at the park from upper coomera) was filmed during normal park operation, hence why it is shown operating at normal beight, however all of the on ride footage was shot before the park opened, where in most instances was operating at close to full speed.
  8. For anyone interested, Episode 2 (the upcoming episode) features the Tower of Terror. Superman will be featured in a few episodes later. Travel Channel has posted 2 segments to their website for the coaster. For those though who can't get last the geo blocking, I'll leave these here.
  9. https://themeparks.com.au/box-office/vip-pass/vip-gold.aspx The onLy 2 official traces of the attraction seem to be on the renewal pages for the VIP. Really bizarre.
  10. Perhaps they have reverted to their old marketing technique of denying anything is happening until day after opening day?
  11. Why no love for Motocoaster? It has a motor and it certainly coasts for most of the ride, if you go to ride it with the expectation of Superman then you deserve to be disappointed.... All jokes aside, no more talk about selling Moped Coaster, it ain't going anywhere. And in response to the talk about when big brother dies, the park didn't use the space when the show first died, what makes you think they will when it dies the second time?
  12. It was TOT and Superman, not Jet Rescue. For the Dreamworld filming it was handled by the actual park to sort out extras. I believe they opened it up on their FB page but I don't recall seeing it.
  13. No Jet Rescue, but they did come out here to film TOT and Superman.
  14. So to change topic, Insane Coaster Wars season 2 has an airdate.
  15. Well give someone a wheelchair for that bridge between Goldrush, giant drop and rocky hollow. Sad thing is it would be more thrilling than Motocoaster...
  16. One of the pylons in AWE is themed to a water tank, but in general it just looks bad. That said, the chairlift is probably the least of their problems. The boat and Eureka are much more embarrassing, but I guess it goes with the decaying theme park theme the park is trying to convey at the moment... Oh, wait...
  17. But if that has been the plan all along, why bother the original year + promotion for it? It has to be something greater than a new film in the theatre.
  18. Looks like Wild has been pushed back to 2015. That's some advanced marketing!
  19. I don't know, the park may not be in the best shape, but I don't think it is in a state where the only way forward is a full redevelopment. Oh, and RCW, I'm sorry, but I think the Government has better things to do than pay for than a redevelopment of an existing theme park. You might as well get that idea out of your head now.
  20. Doubt it, Internet access has probably been deemed a non essential business expense, and like Operations has probably been cut from the budget....
  21. If any company was to buy dreamworld (not that it will happen) I actually feel Merlin entertainment (owners of Legoland, Alton Towers and a raft of other entertainment businesses) would be the most likely to do so. Lets face it, they couldn't do much worse than Ardent are doing with the park at the moment...
  22. We may be getting the Train and Vintage Cars closure confused with the later openings and early closures of the rides. The train as far as I am aware is down during the week so they can bring the track upto scratch for the new locomotive. I highly doubt (but am prepared to be corrected) that they would start any maintenance on the major rides at the end of a day.
  23. Oh, but the only reason their attendance is down along with profits is due to the weather, and nothing to do with their recent mediocre ride line up, didn't you know that? I just love how after 30 years of operation the steam trains are suddenly too expensive to operate. Bad decision Dreamworld. We say to ourselves time and time again (especially recently) that surely they can't fuck the park up any further, them they prove they can. I am starting to think a bunch of monkeys could run the place better than these clowns.
  24. Well I guess this is the reason why last summer they were running. 2 trains then..... I do agree with Joz, it is time for a monorail update with new trains. The fact the drivers have a portable fan to keep the, cool, and they go just faster than walking pace kinda shows this
