  1. I don't find it to be best practice because it creates maintenance. The only element you need on the GC to start concrete cancer is air. Air contains moisture, salts and oxygen, all the ingredients you need for rust. The cold joint gives a direct path to the steel, so you have to seal it if you want to guarantee not to cause rust.
  2. I can't see the point of adding cold joints to the footings. Seems like backwards engineering. 🤷‍♂️
  3. Damm you @Tricoart I've been thinking it's Thursday all day. I don't care what you say, I'm still doing thirsty Thursday tonight.
  4. The major slab pour, is planned to happen today.
  5. You wouldn't think the ride has a limited life expectancy because, track wise, there isn't much track to replace when required. Thunderbolt, Arkham Asylum and Sea Viper all removed because of track issues. I believe the life expectancy will be based on if people ride it.
  6. It was, you just must go back and read some trip reports to refresh your memory. Most of us thought, DW looked like a dump, but we didn’t believe the rides were being dangerously neglected. We were wrong and people died. Hopefully history doesn’t repeat.
  7. Defiantly looks like it would be worth a trip to ride it.
  8. This isn't me agreeing with the placement: Because Leviathan requires year round maintenance yon can see why, SW would want its new maintenance shed, close to Leviathan.
  9. Don't forget @wikiverseit's the customer's fault, Doomsday ride cycle changed.
  10. If people followed MW's advice and decided to go elsewhere, MW maintenance schedule would quickly look very different. Complaining won't change a thing.
  11. 100% @Ashley Jeffery It's just smoke and mirrors. If Batwing has to be down for the Flash construction (which I doubt) why shut down Doomsday at the same time? MW either f$#ked up and they won't admit it or they are cost cutting.
  12. It was never an issue a couple of years ago. The changes to the maintenance program MW have made isn't working. It's just going to take a manager to say they have got it wrong, before they can fix it.
  13. You're kidding yourself @themagicianif you believe MW isn't cost cutting on purpose by increasing maintenance times. DW are cost cutting by reducing park hours, MW are cost cutting by extending time frames. MW mechanics aren't working on 4 closed rides, every day at the same time, for 2 months.
  14. If people don't like paying $100.00 for GL/WWF, catch the next bus and go to DW.
  15. @themagicianthe problems that forced MW to close the ride were picked up during 2022 maintenance period from what I've been told. That is why half the cars didn't return after the maintenance period.
  16. @Dean Barnetttalk about trying to nail them to a post.🤦‍♂️ Rough time frame has only ever been given to try and please people like you.
  17. If you haven't seen a splash pad before it's good to be told what the rules are before entering.
