  1. That's a pretty bold claim in a Disney park - especially when it's up against Mystic Manor, Grizzly Mountain, a Space clone, probably the best Jungle Cruise (IMO), and now Frozen Ever After. If that were in Sea World Aus, it'd be top tier. Movie World also. But IMO, everything is relative and in a Disney Park, I don't think it's an E - for all the attractions that reasonably sit above it, and also, the ride time. I guess we'll have to agree to disagree.
  2. Which door? the castle entryway? it's been white for at least 5 years, and yes, it's always been open (the cinema doors were further in - sort of a light lock.
  3. Is it actually an E-ticket though? Or is it just a well themed secondary attraction playing a supporting role to the e-ticket that is Frozen Ever After? With the prior comparison to Flight of the Hippogriff, it's clear FotH is playing second fiddle to Forbidden Journey etc. I guess it depends on where you'd draw the line. Original E-tickets offered only 1, sometimes two attractions in each land as an 'E'. For a land that only has two attractions - can they (should they?) both be considered E-tickets, other than the fact that they are new? E ticket - Wikipedia Is Oaken top tier? cutting edge? or is it just a well themed family coaster to flesh out the land around a top tier and cutting edge flume ride?
  4. What are you even on about? what is your beef with the description?
  5. I mean, other than the Zero car, that looks about as mine-train-y as this does... Wild West Mine Train - Ocean Park (Removed) I think it goes ok. If I compare that to Universal's offering, I see it fitting with Flight of the Hippogriff which isn't much different length wise (it runs about 60 seconds inc. lift hill, but IMO the lift is slower too) - both have a short animatronic intro pre-lift, and then a fairly simple layout. If you compare the two of them, i'd say Oaken's looks better, though the Hippogriff probably seems a little more thrilling. 7DMT is the anchor attraction in Fantasyland at WDW. Oaken's is not - and it's demonstrated clearly by the fact that it's not the headlining character for the land. A 7DMT attraction would have replaced Frozen Ever After as the anchor, and for an IP like frozen, a thrill coaster isn't quite the right fit.
  6. We know the former CEO had a bonus clause that would be activated when the park\property\business was sold, so the boards intention (at least at that time) was to sell. Whether that has changed, we don't know.
  7. Perhaps - and i'm only spitballing here - they feel that the value of the company has finally lifted (or is about to, following Flyer, Dreamland, and soon Rivertown), and the shareprice hasn't yet responded to that value lift, so capitalising on it now is a sound decision?
  8. A buyback is typically an indication that the company thinks the share price is too low for the value of the stock. In a buy-back, they are actually removing stock from the 'pool' - so the shares aren't increasing an ownership stake of the board of directors, they simply cease to exist - making the shareholding pool smaller, which does increase the value of each share and the resulting dividends as a result. Why are they doing it? I have no idea.
  9. It's more nuanced than that. Think about it - why do they never use the second half of the indoor queue and make everyone stand outside in the sun, with crude tape on the ground...? The building obviously has capacity limitations, my guess is fire evac requirements.
  10. We've booked for June 2024 (We're hitting Hong Kong and Singapore again this Christmas) so also keen to hear other suggestions for things to do. Planning a similar itinerary, though won't be hitting the snow, obviously.
  11. You don't need a super big space for bumper cars. take a look at many timezones around the place and you'll see just how small a space you can make it. I can't see them doing any more earthworks to that site so unless they take over some of the footpath i'd say the existing site is probably all she wrote. It should fit but if so it's going to be a fairly small course - which is probably fine for BB considering most times of the year even only a few cars wouldn't generate much of a wait...
  12. My conclusion - The Underground Club has missed the mark. Would have done better putting some escape rooms or another maze in there.
  13. It sounds like they're looking to combine either the tigers or wildlife with some sort of farmstay, ala Paradise Country. It'll be interesting to see any artists impressions or early concepts if\when they decide to come out with them. That said we nearly had a Soarin style ride named after a p*rn star, so registration doesn't necessarily mean anything...
  14. Didn't Ardent have a motion on the table to change their name in 2016, which got dropped post-TRRR?
  15. (For completeness) the Warner Bros elements and indicia including DC are all used by Village under licence from WB.
  16. Yeah Demo Derby was a trailer mounted unit, i'm not sure if it was ever intended to be permanent or just a filler attraction until their next expansion. While they did build a roof for it, the install looked very temporary, and in the few visits we made to the park since it went in, we never once saw it operating.
  17. I know. That's why I suggested they removed it to reduce the weight - because it didn't change their accessibility but perhaps it allowed them to run backwards. Also well aware, but the video I saw had an operator \ conductor sitting in the back row with what looked like a 2-way in their hand. Cameras are great and all, but they don't see everything a real person can. Its a smart move to have a spotter for the return journey regardless of how many cameras you have.
  18. The video I saw of it running backwards has the caboose\wheelchair car removed. Perhaps reduced weight? (Though it may just be that the rear car needs a spotter on the radio, so they opted to give them a seat) The new carriages are already lighter than the old ones by a mile...
  19. Did they paint the new section blue as well?
  20. Missed opportunity to charge $15 for the first week and then jack it up to $40
  21. I wasn't suggesting for a minute that DWX was going anywhere. I think it's great that they've opted to run a shuttle service rather than shut it down completely.
  22. "This beloved and integral park transport ride is temporarily closed while we construct our newest coaster, but it will most assuredly return afterwards, even if we scrap a train in the interim" aren't reassuring words to the Gold Coast Theme Park community. Let's hope it returns to full operations once Leviathan err Jungle Rush is complete!
  23. Yeah look - i'd rather they replaced the attraction with an attraction, but in the scheme of things, i'd much rather a nice, tropical planting \ grassy space than a closed and decrepit hulk of an old ride in full view.
  24. What does Flowrider have to do with Sky Coaster?
