  1. Key Holder: $20 one off payment Tik Tok: Ongoing monthly revenue stream with a literall butt-ton more subscribers and ergo much more revenue. I know where i'm going to try and encourage my followers to spend their money.
  2. The concept art presents that roofing largely the same as it was, so i'm not sure there are plans to change it - at least not this round.
  3. The other eye does, you just can't see it. They've been doing a lot of things in stages, the first step usually to get the ride reopened after the theme, with many other non-essential items like theming coming in when it's ready or available, without keeping the ride closed for months waiting for it...
  4. "ride exit queue". Can you get fasttrack for that?
  5. Without doxxing anyone, no - Wonderbuzz is not Wonderbus. Bussy made it clear he was a former ride operator \ supervisor. Buzz.... wasn't. He goes on longer trips. He still drops by every now and then.
  6. You can have road runner if you can place it somewhere other than the kids theatre. This means showstage never gets held over for kids performances and we can keep a western or magic show hosted in there.
  7. This is good though. I mentioned on a recent trip to SW that they took down additional details about a kid's height wristband such as name, age and physical description, as apparently parents were swapping the wristbands onto other kids. I'm sure fasttrack wristband abuse was just as lucrative a scam, so forcing the app means it's less likely open for abuse (and gives the park much greater metrics over usage to get the price point right too)
  8. Agree, much as most thoosies won't like it - the park is getting really coaster top-heavy and needs more filler. We said this when they announced Doomsday and sadly that's not helped the way we'd hoped, but there was a time when this park was a full day park even on the quietest of days, because the shows and attractions literally took you all day to do. These days the park is jammed with people, and most attractions take less than 2 minutes to experience, so if everything was a walkon you could be out by lunchtime. Here's the park I remember and love:
  9. Depends on how you classify it, but in it's later years, Wonderland's gates were moved beyond the retail plaza, and halfway up the hill into international village. While I can't seem to find a photo that shows it during operation, Bounty's Revenge was immediately inside the gates and impossible to miss if it were operating as you entered. Sure, it's a little further back, but there really wasn't anything else in front of you except this giant swinging ship.
  10. Hong Kong Disneyland makes an effort. Not quite as fully catered as it sounds like DLP is, but HK offers Jungle Cruise in three languages. The golden mickeys presentation was done in Mandarin with english subtitles, but the rest of the park's offering was in english, with many on-screen elements subtitled in mandarin \ cantonese. It sounds like DLP is a great non-US option for english speaking disney fans.
  11. ^you forgot as a reply to a comment on an unrelated social media post when asked by a follower
  12. This is where I get to say 'called it' right? I hadn't realised that there'd be so many tall structures surrounding the ride. All this roof trussing and block wall looks pretty high up - seems like there'll be a great view for riders, but main street is losing a lot of it's openness and sightlines by all these structures. #sadface
  13. An overnight update of the VRTP theme parks app states in the version history for version 1.238.5: Not sure if this means virtual queue has been completely eliminated from the park, or if it is simply a rebrand to refer to VQ as FT? Ironically the update may have removed all references to VQ from the app, but the App store listing still mentions it in several places, including an app update only 2 months ago where they enhanced the VQ system... Pictures to come...
  14. Yeah, the site has been a labour of love for the group involved. The site was critical in the early days, but facebook took over a large proportion of the fan base and it was far easier to utilise the facebook platform to share and interact with fans of the park. The site has moved servers at least once or twice and things have broken over the years, and it'd be great to get it up to a modern website standard - but it is a labour of love and that all takes time - which in some cases, folks just don't have. I know I spend far less time these days on pursuits that used to take up large parts of my free time - it's just life. As for the footage, so many people have contributed to the group over the years with home VHS tapes, searches of Australian Television Archives and the like. That particular video was uploaded to youtube over 9 years ago, so whether any of their team know the exact source of every piece they've collected is unlikely - though they do tend to provide credit where they can. For example, I know all the media titled 'Wonderbuzz' came from a former employee who is still an admin for their group.
  15. Don't be ridiculous. What you're suggesting requires thought and effort.
  16. From what i've heard, they've pulled back a bit from relying heavily on an existing IP and are instead pushing the funds they'd normally spend on licencing on fleshing out the mazes a bit more. It's a bold strategy Cotton.
  17. Amusing that they didn't even generate something unique, and are using the same characters developed for the merchandise line, which has already been in the park for an entire year.
  18. To be fair, the same occurred for Steel Taipan, though it was for different reasons...
  19. Surprisingly, considering its one of the only active in-park constructions going on, it's been four weeks without an update here. I've heard a whisper from a little birdy @Jay Jay The Jet Plane that a crane is onsite at Dreamworld this morning and is currently operating right behind town hall. Presumably, this is lifting in components for the flyer, so we might have our first vertical construction pics coming very soon...
  20. I'm pretty sure the Oxenford property is a 'major tourism precinct' so this would simply align the dreamworld land with the village land in terms of zoning - it'd simplify things and ensure that council decisions for both complexes are made on the same footing. It'd also potentially make things a bit easier for ardent to develop the property in line with tourism-related avenues (which potentially would shut down the calls for land sell-offs and such)
  21. Honestly thats fucking pathetic on behalf of their marketing and comms teams. It's literally a selling point for the product and at first opportunity they fumble it. All they had to do was email key holders a link 24 hours in advance. I wonder whether this has any implications with the ACCC. It's almost as if everyone is just doing their own thing without regard to the other elements of the brand. You sell a premium membership experience like Key (which is sold as "the ultimate digital extension to any Village Roadshow experience", but then you release exclusive content on another platform requiring a separate subscription and don't appear to offer any access or benefit to those with 'the ultimate digital extension'. Clearly Tiktok is making them a quick buck. After investing so much into the Key experience and then having such a poor uptake on it, it's probably not a surprise they'd essentially abandon their supposed premium product in favour of the newest quick buck. VIP Gold Premier Membership and now.... Village Key.
